Dude this episode was amazing! I love your road trip ones I actually met with one of the Arcade Impossible guys in Australia through Retro Domination. They rock.
Watching the beginning I had a crazy flashback of being in an arcade somewhere a long time ago, might even be a really old dream I had back in the day, wow time flies....
Hi John. This is Nathan Kail. The first video of yours that I ever watched was you playing your 'Big Guns" pinball machine, being a pinball geek myself, and I have been having an obsessive habit with your channel ever since. I love your work. Please keep it up.
John your knowledge of cabinets and styles is impressive your ability to remember underground retro cade not so much ha ha great episode and great to get a jump on greggs next episode whilst he finishes it
Wrd your videos are kool and adventurous the best thing about them is they are lengthy and you take your time to explain various things about each arcade game n pinball.
John, no matter how great that Guys are from Arcade Impossible, I prefer to abide by YOU! I mean, really you are such a great person to listen to I can't thinking about any other to bring more fun and enthusiasm to, watching your videos! You are really GREAT, Man!!
How on earth did you get so much knowledge on arcade cabinets. Blows my mind how you have so many random facts & can spot a converted cabinet from a mile away
Hey John. Long time subscriber and fan. It's was very cool u came back to the Midwest. It's was neat seeing the tour of the arcade. I'm from central indiana and sold retro arcade their pole position, burgertime, stratovox, and 1942 from my personal collection. Cool episode!!!!
John, thanks for the visit and coverage! Always a pleasure to see Gregg & company! We're glad we could help you guys out with Gorf - enjoy and play in good health! There's an interesting story behind PPII. After bringing it back from MrHurryinHoosier's house, who graciously sold it to us as a project, we had a service center go through it, resulting in a repair estimate in the $600 range. In the process of transporting the game back from the repair center after declining the work, the monitor support panel, which is finish nailed in the cabinet from the factory, pulled out, destroying the monitor. We have the board and the list of chips it needs. Someday we'll source the chips, drop a new monitor in, and place it next to our Pole Position (which just needs some power supply work.)
Underground Retrocade Oh, and just to clarify - our Fix it Felix cab certainly was a widebody Mario Bros at the start of its life, but by the time we got it anything remotely Nintendo-ish was long gone. Some sort of Sega Baseball conversion had last been in it, but it came to us with no bezel, marquee, side art, PCB. Nothing. Just a shell. It will some day be a Mario again, but not until we've sourced an alternate home for Felix because people do really enjoy that game - Disney did a great job replicating the style and play of the classics.
Underground Retrocade Cool. :) I think I have an extra bezel if you need it, let me know. Cheap converted DK style Nintendo cabinets are much easier to find than original Mario Bros W I D E B O D I E S ! ! ! :) Great arcade, thanks for letting us film in your place!
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech We'd been planning to reman the bezel when we back-convert that cab, but it you have an extra, sweet! At the time we sourced that widebody it was all there was available and we were up against the deadline of the movie's release, but we'll keep our eyes open for a trashed-out DK conversion as we'd never take a good DK and convert it out.
I have been to this arcade. It's pretty good and loads of games. Pin heads, there's about 10 pinballs in there too. great video. Forgot to mention that I played Gorf there. Get the Berzerk! That game can make me rage, but I love it. Sad to see the Space Wars died. At least I got to play it.
Watched from start to finish!! Great video! It's always fun to watch Tubers get together...especially when it has a successful ending like this one!! BOO YEAH!! Awesome time!
I just noticed in this video you have an original TAPPER machine!!! man that game is awesome! great collection my man.im sure ill notice more, pretty sure i saw a tmnt 2 player in there aswell.
In 1987 we bought 21 Gorfs for $75.00 each. I converted all of them to SKY SHARK! It was really nice to see this thanks! By the way I sold all of the mother boards to El Dorado Games for about $5.00 each!
Man, how sad...I would (and probably WILL, someday) give a lot of $$ for a GORF cab! I recall the conversions, that's one reason I'm not really into jamma games. A LOT of awesome classics were ruined, to install cookie-cutter games of the time.:(
Yep, thanks you for helping restore these wonderful classics. I really hope I'm someday able to find a nice GORF cab, I almost was able to pick one up at cax last year, but some woman beat me to it ($550, if I recall??). I'll keep looking...
"I almost bought a Blitz, it would be a fun party game" Very true! The NFL Blitz / NBA Showtime combo cabinet looks very good and would look awesome next to your Golden Tee. You have the bar theme going on that wall, and IMHO, this would fit right in.
FYI... Their Tron cabinet marquee has a Cindy Morgan autograph on it. (i.e., Yori from the original Tron movie... and Lacy Underall from the movie, Caddyshack)
hey guys we are in the comments section! sorry i had to say that. Anyways just got done watching this. I saw your post on the forum and did a marathon run of there videos and this more or less just capped it off XD Also good to know that they have a few machines that aren't in there basement yet. {no spoilers here}
Watching this video again after that post I just made, that was a Williams Sinistar control panel you picked up (~0:22:30). I have a Sinistar, but sadly it's been converted to a Street Fighter CE bootleg. That control panel and a marquee would be the only things i would need (I would think) to convert it back, well and the board I suppose.
If I would have only one choice to get a full working arcade cabinet, I would choose a SCRAMBLE! It blew my mind more then all the others when I was a kid!
Hey John, I posted previously on Arcade Impossible pickup of the Rush the Rock games, I too have a pair of Rush the Rock. I just finished getting them up and running. I hope to have a video soon, and would love to try a VPN with them for some 4 player action! should be fun, and I also have picked up 3 more arcades for a total of 9 machines!
Get Frenzy, loved owning it and played it till i pwned on it, wasted so many quarters as a kid on it...For some reason I had to beat it...But alas it is unbeatable...just gets harder... lol. Great video and from your nostalgia machines John, Lock On was before your time ...;)
Give Xevious a chance it's pretty rewarding at the end. Your videos are inspiring and bring back some great memories. Ever come across Trojan? It was a game like Street Fighter and Rastan but in a post apocalypse world.
Hey John, Scott's conversion of the Mario Bros widebody into the Wreck it Ralph is temporary. He understands the need to preserve the original cabs. :)
There was room in the trailer for the Galaga, I wouldn't have been able to resist, maybe they're more common in the USA than here in the UK. Cool arcade. I'm going to send them a Debbie Gibson tape to play, get the 80's atmosphere going.Good to see a mash up video with arcade impossible.
I remember space war but a old Atari arcade game that that probably not that nobody will remember. is a black and white vector graphics and real life physics into the game is moon lander.
Hello guys I love the videos. Just wanted to let you know that their Asteroids deluxe is perfectly fine and the marquee is supposed to look that way as there were two different styles of asteroid deluxe cabs. The odd one which you guys thought was a fake marquee, is actually a model meant to be shipped over seas. Look inside the coin door and you will also be able to tell via the coin switches. The import cab has dark blue switches where the cab you have used the usual ones in Atari games.
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech Yep it's also the one I have. I love your vids man and stay tuned as I will be starting vids on my basement arcade myself. I had made a few before but ended up closing the channel. Now I'm back and my arcade has grown since then so hopefully you check it out when I do get around to it. Thanks man and keep it up, this is a great hobby!
Hehehe... Downtown Cleveland baby! I heard that there's an interbelt project down there. Did you have trouble getting on the interbelt? Also, nice shot of Progressive Field. :)
Good video John as always. Is there a chance that you may get a GORF? Would love to see another one with you paying a small amount for a Ono working arcade and then getting it to work in a few minutes. :-) This one is one of the games games from my youth that I remember playing, next to Asteroids and Astro Fighter.
You guys make me feel old I played Gorf in summer 1981 I was 10 years old and it was brand new along with Defender and loads of other classics I don't rate those 90's games as much though that wasn't a special era for me I can't believe you don't like Xevious that's an all time classic The controller from Gorf was in an earlier Bally Mifdway MFG game Space Encounters which I played back in the day too Played Gorf first though
I'm wondering about how the current prices are in the U.S. but, boy, you have sure to pay a lot, with all these numerous and partly giant arcade cabinets all days letting them working all together the whole time through! hahaha
good job on the vid and the game! hard to imagine the other guys can produce a better video, only time will tell.:) amazes me how you can do so much stuff and interact with people when you are stuck behind the camera. that was an awesome arcade you visited, shame to see it empty though. you didn't stick around to play some games? weird. btw, didn't like the cabinets placed at an angle, looked odd and is not practical for 2 player gaming, the other cab would get in the way. keep up the awesome work!
That's a good point about the placement of our Atari; luckily, only one (Space Duel) is a simultaneous 2 player game. We might consider moving it to the end of the row to leave more room for the 2nd player. Note that this was shot on a Monday around noon, and we're not usually open at that time.
I own 2 GORF's both upright cabinets one is midi and other full size. unfortunately both don't work they seem so temperamental and break down so easily. Annoying as it's my favourite arcade game ever! Nice video BTW.
Another great vid. John! THX. I plan to visit The Galloping ghost in DEC. It's part of my x-mas present. I know there not as large as Funspot. They claim they are. ?!?But you were close to Brookfield. . Did you happen to make it there?
No, I haven't been there yet. I will get out there eventually. Maybe next time. I hear the place is massive but they have a lot of conversion cabinets. Funspot does a pretty good job with having all dedicated games.
there is a ton of original games in this building in st paul- mn that are in original cabinets, I just have to find out what condition they are in! they have some slot machines and other stuff in there too! what really pisses me off is when you open the coin door to find out some idiot cut all the ribbon cables to the mech because you can easily by pass it for free play and disable the mech without destroying original equipment !
i like world rally. like how can spin the wheel to turn and stop it to go straight. maybe the one i played wasn't supposed to do that though. wish was a console version. should play it.
Dude this episode was amazing! I love your road trip ones
I actually met with one of the Arcade Impossible guys in Australia through Retro Domination. They rock.
I have both John's Arcade and Arcade Impossible subscribed. You guys rocked it.
Watching the beginning I had a crazy flashback of being in an arcade somewhere a long time ago, might even be a really old dream I had back in the day, wow time flies....
..."It's time for JO". It was awesome having you along John. We really enjoyed hanging out. Until next year!
Yeah, for sure! What a great frickin' time! I really enjoyed hanging out with you guys. FOR REALS.
That's unreal that one jumper wire fixed that machine, but it's reason like this I will probably never own an arcade machine.
Awesome video John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech one of your best yet!
Love it John!
Hi John. This is Nathan Kail. The first video of yours that I ever watched was you playing your 'Big Guns" pinball machine, being a pinball geek myself, and I have been having an obsessive habit with your channel ever since. I love your work. Please keep it up.
Super sweet. I'm enjoying all of your videos, John! The nostalgia feels...
John your knowledge of cabinets and styles is impressive your ability to remember underground retro cade not so much ha ha great episode and great to get a jump on greggs next episode whilst he finishes it
It's funny how I could not remember the name of that arcade. LOL!
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech By about the third time you could see Gregg was like dude come on ha ha
Wrd your videos are kool and adventurous the best thing about them is they are lengthy and you take your time to explain various things about each arcade game n pinball.
GORF lives!!! Another great video, thanks. I lost count of how many times you forgot the name of that arcade John! Haha!!!
LOL! Yeah, for some reason I kept wanting to call it RETRO UNDERGROUND. LOL!
Enjoyed every minute, felt that I was right there repairing Commando with you. Ace stuff.
John, no matter how great that Guys are from Arcade Impossible, I prefer to abide by YOU! I mean, really you are such a great person to listen to I can't thinking about any other to bring more fun and enthusiasm to, watching your videos! You are really GREAT, Man!!
+Ralonso I love Greg! Thanks
How on earth did you get so much knowledge on arcade cabinets. Blows my mind how you have so many random facts & can spot a converted cabinet from a mile away
I've been addicted to this stuff for awhile now. I eat drink and sleep these games! :) Thanks for the kind words!
Great vid John. I used to love playing world rally when younger. brought back some memories when spotted on the tour!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the kind words. :)

Yeah, it WAS fun! I hope to do more with them in the future. GREAT guys!
Btw..You were so excited when it booted up..Awesome I would have done the same..Love those kind of fixes!!!
I just noticed in this video you have an original TAPPER machine!!! man that game is awesome! great collection my man.im sure ill notice more, pretty sure i saw a tmnt 2 player in there aswell.
Arcade Impossible is outstanding!! Again great work on the videos John!!
too funny John at the end when the game powered up..lol
awesome as usual!!
You know what's funny. the heater, i was watching it and i actually felt warmer just looking at it. that's impressive.
That heater was serious business. I was scared.
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech
I believe it. though I agree you need one for your garage.

Yep, thanks you for helping restore these wonderful classics. I really hope I'm someday able to find a nice GORF cab, I almost was able to pick one up at cax last year, but some woman beat me to it ($550, if I recall??). I'll keep looking...

First time viewer, great video! Man that anticipation near the end was perfect!
Thanks! Glad you liked the vid! :)
Just started checking out your channel today while watching the 1982 version of Tron. Merry Christmas by the way!
zestydude87 Original Tron is great but slow. I still love it.
Hey John,
New to the scene (and NEACF)...
Looks like you had a blast. Nice job as always!!
Thanks, bro!!!! Welcome to it!
Great video John! It's amazing how the littlest errors can cause the whole game to not work! :)
"It's really quiet, it needs music".
*No response whatsoever*
hey guys we are in the comments section! sorry i had to say that. Anyways just got done watching this. The WG K4600 a great monitor, very stable. Fun video as always. Arcade Jason has ram boards...
That Gorf is in EXCELLENT SHAPE!
I live pretty close to this guy, I’m definitely reaching out to him!! 🤘🏻 GAMERS ASSEMBLE!!!!
Awesome episode. Loved your reaction when you got the game working.
that is truly a great gorf cabinet except for the big scratch in the front. other wise great purchase. thumbs up.

Man I love those guys! It's such a good channel too. You should have told me you were in IL. Would have invited you all to some beers.
Make sure you check out our Facebook page. So you can come out to the next Arcade party at my place.
Great video dude, you just got yourself a new subscriber !
Can't wait to see the other videos you have.
Thanks
Awesome! Thanks! I hope you enjoy the other vids too!
you are the master at getting these games working john!
It was Eagle Eye Mike! He spotted the leg all bent on that chip. :)
that gummed up socket might have been a cap that exploded goo out onto the board, perhaps?
Great video as always!
They should take a Sharpie and label all the dents in the wall with the games that did them!
Get Frenzy, loved owning it and played it till i pwned on it, wasted so many quarters as a kid on it...For some reason I had to beat it...But alas it is unbeatable...just gets harder... lol. Great video and from your nostalgia machines John, Lock On was before your time ...;)

Sorry I'm a little late. Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing. :)
Love all your videos, John! Greets from Australia!
Look at the button placement on the Golden Axe cab, would suck to be player 2 on that one!
I've played I'm Sorry from someone's Mame cabinet at a convention I went to. It was fun. ;)
I had no idea the Arcade Impossible guys had a DJ setup in the corner. I kinda wanna see that. lol
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech Was that control panel that had that Sinibomb button For A William's SINISTAR?
Super Hang-On hiding in the back of that guys shop
Yeah, that thing was a BEAST! Giant sit-down version.
still wondering how u got to the beef-a-roo in Rockford? no where near west dundee!!!!
Hey John, Scott's conversion of the Mario Bros widebody into the Wreck it Ralph is temporary. He understands the need to preserve the original cabs. :)
Ok, cool! I just love Mario Bros. wide bodies sooooo much! :)
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech This was an amazing video by the way, just went to the Retrocade this afternoon.
***** And you went to Beef A Roo?!?!? Are you freakin' kidding me?!?!? :)
Yeah. It was great.
Thank you for your entertaining videos. Your knowledge is impressive. Regards from London.
I remember space war but a old Atari arcade game that that probably not that nobody will remember. is a black and white vector graphics and real life physics into the game is moon lander.
Man, I haven't been to the new location for the Retrocade since it reopened. It used to be over the river earlier this year.
C'mon out and check the new digs!
I am hoping you will be able to come across some of the SUPER RARE WILLIAMS GAMES- Duramold Sinistar, Inferno, Splat, Blaster.
Hello guys I love the videos. Just wanted to let you know that their Asteroids deluxe is perfectly fine and the marquee is supposed to look that way as there were two different styles of asteroid deluxe cabs. Yes, we found out later it is an IRISH version.

Now I'm back and my arcade has grown since then so hopefully you check it out when I do get around to it. Thanks man and keep it up, this is a great hobby!
Absolutely! Keep me posted. :)
I noticed you don't have any Sega Naomi stuff. Is there a reason for that?
Hang-On was one of the best mid 80s games. It was very good or should I say 'sick'.
Super Hang-On was better nicer bike cabinet
Hehehe... Downtown Cleveland baby! I heard that there's an interbelt project down there. Did you have trouble getting on the interbelt? Also, nice shot of Progressive Field. :)
Not as cool as the Chicago Skyway Toll Booth and Beef A Roo! :)
I guess you called Taito Tayto, which is an Irish crisp (chip) company.
love all your videos man!!!
Thanks, buddy! Appreciate it!
the williams logo resembled the motorola logo upside down or did I see wrong?
Good video John as always. Is there a chance that you may get a GORF? HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THE GEORGE CONSTANZA PICTURE KILLED ME !!!!! HAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
awesome vid. roadblasters is one of my favorite games
Awesome video by the way. Thanks for posting.
Thanks tons! I really appreciate you watching. Thanks!
No prob, John. My arcade/home games rooms should be done, soon! I can't wait to get caught up on my videos & make new ones for my channel.
What is the power consumption of your gaming room when all cabinets are turned on? :)
Thumbs up for the video!
Thanks!
Did you get rid of your super sprint?
If only you, John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech , would have a Sonic Championship cabinet... It's actually pretty fun, especially on 2 player.
good job on the vid and the game! hard to imagine the other guys can produce a better video, only time will tell.:) amazes me how you can do so much stuff and interact with people when you are stuck behind the camera. that was an awesome arcade you visited, shame to see it empty though. you didn't stick around to play some games? weird. btw, didn't like the cabinets placed at an angle, looked odd and is not practical for 2 player gaming, the other cab would get in the way. keep up the awesome work!

These always have issues with the ram boards!!! Swap them out!!!
I love Xevious :( okay I may just be biased since I had some good young childhood memories with it
Xevious is awesome. Get past a couple levels and it really gets cool.
Kareem Hill Jr. Holy crap! That's the exact thing I used to play Xevious back in the day! Good times xD
I own 2 GORF's both upright cabinets one is midi and other full size. unfortunately both don't work they seem so temperamental and break down so easily. Annoying as it's my favourite arcade game ever! Nice video BTW.
what is that great song that starts about 2 minutes in?

Nice Ground Kontrol shirt there!
I remember the days when Arcade Impossible would release videos. haha Just kidding Gregg.
Dear John,
You are my hero.
Dear Heldagrif, thank you! :)
Great video as always John!
lol beef o rue it's like Beefaroni but couldn't get the trade mark.
Wait.. Where are you based out of, John?
Enjoyed this John!
OMG this impossible guy is Zach Braff
JESUS DAT HEATER!
That was Awesome
Great vid, John!
I pasted by it, when I was going to Denny's
