I really hope you look into interpolation frames and follow-through physics on your limbs to add realism and impact to your animations. Right now every move has no blending to or from it so the character randomly poses quickly and it's difficult for me as a viewer to understand the motion and breaks immersion because it looks so "gamey".

Don’t know if this channel is a big part of your future as a game studio but I hope if so it blows up and you get some mad support like other channels similar to this
It looks like a good base and could be great, to make it more satisfying I would recommend adding speed lines and effects when you go faster to rlly make the player feel the intensity and also more effects in general like if u do a cool trick or when you go on metal it sparks a bunch and the fast you go or the best your score the more particles you get 👍

Looks dope. My feedback would be that at 2:49 the billboard went by way too fast to read it. I think the diegetic tutorial ideas cool but for something like this it probably would just make more sense to be on the bottom of the screen. I don't think right now that the character Pops from the background very much. The outline helps identify the character but the character doesn't pop

    • @VoyagerStudio

Thanks for the feedback! Really good to know. With regards to the character a lot of people have said this so we will make sure to adjust in future! Thank you!

As of the game mechanics/idea/art and splash art, everything looks amazing and very creative. The one thing that i think can get some improvement is the game trailer and the steam page as a whole. As for something new to be added. I recommend adding more intensity to the game. More effects and particles in general. Keep up the great work, we believe in you all. 👍

I recommend zooming the camera in closer and to the right, with the player to the left side of the screen. What’s behind you is not as important as what’s in front of you. I think the zoom is crucial too. I can’t really see what’s going on, and it will be especially important when you have customized characters and designed NPCs.

Looks really good! If I could make any suggestions it would be to adjust the camera angle so it's looking down the skaters line a bit more. This will also save the camera from having to pull out so much at high speed and miniaturizing the skater. Look at the Trials series as a good example. I'll certainly be following on Steam

It's very exciting to see how far the game has come in such a short amount of time! The team is knocking it out of the park. I agree with the other comments though, I found it a little difficult to keep track of the character and visually understand what they're doing in each moment. Maybe the background pops a little too much? Either way, with the amount of talent you guys have, I know it'll continue to look better and better as development continues. Wishing you the best!

With how far back the camera can go, just looking at the video it's quite hard for me to distinguish grind rails from the background. I see you have a very thin outline on them already, maybe make it become thicker as the camera moves further away

One idea If you guys don't already have it noted down would be to have a huge visual feedback for the combo's. For example in the Tony Hawk games and other combo based game systems. Having a stack of Audio,Visual feedback for attaining or achieving higher combos would add great feel to what you guys have already!
Keep at it looking forward to release!

To add to the clarity when playing you should zoom on the characters a little but put the camera more on the right because we don’t need to see the left. Maybe adding black or white border line on what you can interact or touch for better understanding and clarity

This seems like a great concept. One change I could see having a decent effect would probably be in the camera. The zoom kinda makes the character feel small; maybe push the view slightly forwards rather than zooming out so vastly. This would also give the player a little more time to see and react to any oncoming obstacles. Another change would probably be to the animations. The tricks look cool, I’m speaking towards the more general animations. Right now, they kinda feel like what they are: different animations designed for different purposes. The way the character kinda pops up between pumps gives that away. I’d say to make them flow a little more; like they’re a little more connected. I’m sure whatever you do will be fine, as long as the difference in the animations is less obvious to the player. Lastly, I read another comment speaking on comic book style onomatopoeia, and I love it. Anyway, I’m just leaving my mark now so I’ll be able to come back to this once you guys are big. I’m interested to see how this all plays out.

i think you should work on the sound design like when the player jumps the players make a grunt noise or whatever and roller blading sound on the road should be a bit rough to increase the overall immersion and u should make a visible line on the players back follow it and then make it fade away slowly just adding to the looks of the game

I think you should add some big buildings in the far background that are much higher then the buildings right behind the player and let them wiggle a little bit to the lofi beat, to let the city seam alive and moving while at the same time giving the illusion of a bigger city, because the background in the "Demo Scene" at the end of the video is a little empty. I think it would be worth the hustle to implement that, but at all a really nice game 👍

The rollerskates don't follow the ground. Get an IK or something that actually snaps the rotation to the ground. It looks very off now with the skates being horizontal on a slope.

I think theres a little bit sound feedback missing, especially when you are just skating on normal ground, its really quiet. Also I would make it so the music switches, when you start the level with some crispy soundtransition or chill i dont really know how to describe it, otherwise it feels a little bit boring and more like you put just some music in the background, not really responsive. maybe some wind effect while in air or if you are getting fast, something like that or more scate sound, so you really feel, going faster or skating in general.

This might just be me, but the skid flare (the fire particle that comes from the heel whilst on rails) is a little in your face, and I can see myself personally getting distracted from it, I feel like toning it down might help!

    Suggestion:
Camera is too far from character which makes harder to see details on character, if we can't see the character properly then customising character will be useless

We definitely will be making changes to the camera, and we are looking at adjusting the angle too. Nothing is set in stone yet. The game will still have more work to be done. We understand the game won’t be for everyone though ☺️ the main parts are to play a game casually and listen to chill music. Nothing too crazy. Do you have any other suggestions?

The animation of building speed looks a bit janky. When one foot is moving from the back to the front, it just weirdly stops in the middle. Same one for front to back. Maybe you can remove that stop and make it more smoothly through that. But otherwise, its a great game so far.
