I was utterly amazed by thinking how much dexterity and ingenuity were needed to complete this job. I actually couldn't help but hold my breath while Sorin was grinding thin FPC cable with a growling dremel. Your mottainai spirit made another customer happy. Salute from Japan.
That was very intense fixing that flex ribbon, and seeing the picture come up immediately after. My family here were wondering why I was cheering and clapping watching a vid. Well done Sorin.
the idea is that the repair needs to be cheaper than the whole device, because it wont make economical sense to do it. the guys that will tell new screen actually arent repairmans but just parts swappers
Mr Sorin, you have mastered the art of applying the proper calibrated wire in the most difficult places. Oh teach us grand wire master🙏 No seriously you make it look so easy, but that must be proper hard to do. You truly are a master at your trade🦾
Sorin, you're a legend! I'm also from a poor country and have the same affliction of being unable to throw away electronics that are fixable, but I'm nowhere near your level with repairs. I've got a no-screen detected laptop, and I know everything but the screen works because this laptop is already on its secon screen and I kept around the previous broken screen that has a bunch of lines through it and black splotches, but there's picture. Now I just need to figure out what's wrong with the other screen that had been working perfectly until a week ago. I kept looking around and couldn't find anyone else trying to repair the screen control board, but then 3 night ago I finally found you. Been catching up on your screen repair videos every night - you continually give me inspiration (and knowledge, and hope). Thank you.
I thoroughly enjoy watching your vids Sorin. I love fixing electronics as a hobby and came across your channel and I enjoy your repairs. My favorite is hearing, and we have picture!! Or Thass sick! 😁 Keep up the great content Sorin.
15:15) Hello. For this type of work, I cut the plastic diffusers used in LED televisions that are placed between the backlight and the panel to credit card size. They are barely 1mm thick. They are quite resistant and in this way when inserting them to remove the screen to be replaced, we avoid pinching said screen with the possibility of breaking it. That tool I see is fine, for removing stuck batteries, but on a screen, such as this one that offers resistance (since it is still very stuck), the possibility of you prying with the tool and breaking the screen is very high. I knew you would use a dremmel, that's what I would do. No risk, no glory. Who said fear!! 🤪 (28:15) mini drill taking a forceful beating off camera The knocks only work on televisions when the analog antenna signal was bad and cannot be extrapolated to other devices 🤣🤣🤣
Wanted to say this one impressed me. Most would have abandoned the job when they saw the broken ribbon on the LCD. Good job on your part using that ‘properly calibrated wires’ and certified hot glue for the job.
wow just wow !!! im from Ethiopian and i have been watching you for the last 2 month i my self is a Technician in Lenovo service provider But you gave me many skills i didn't get for the last 10+ years in this line of duty .... just thank you keep it up pls don't stop spreading your skills and knowledge if i have money i will pay for each videos (God bless you)
This is what I will call the unthinkable kind of repair one will hesitate to do at first, considering the risk and time and effort to do it. Amazing video repair by the ONE AND ONLY MASTER SORIN.. Two Thumbs up for you Sorin..
LOL I can't believe you of all people wanted to buy a replacement tool because it was broken rather than just assuming you can fix it as we all know, Sorin can fix (nearly) everything!! Car Boot Sales are brilliant by the way :)
my great respect! I´m also from the eastern block, so I agree that everything should be repaired if possible, before an expensive change for new. Keep up with the perfect work! greetings: Benedikt
That was fascinating and scary to watch! Even the grinder didn't want to be involved in Sorin's scary dodgy repair and desoldered itself😁😁. Funny thing is I kept finding myself blowing on the screen to try and remove the ground bits off the repair section like I was the one doing the repair😂😂 force of habit Awesome work Sorin!! 👏👏
Sorin, you are the one and only one. This is a repair who never did. Like a chipseth replacement with a hot air soldering machine. Muster is the word that will explain your work. Keep your way of work. We are here because of your unique working methods. Thanks
You sir, are my hero. Back in the '90s I had to quit my EE job because of my declining eyesight. We didn't have microscopes back then, and smt technology was the relatively new form of witchcraft. I wouldn't have touched that job with a ten foot pole, with a rubber glove attached to the end. That was brilliant repair work.
Simply amazing! Nobody in their right mind would think to do what you just did. You sir are an adventurer and an inventive genius... Thank you so much for sharing.
It is a jammy customer very guarded about the issues and probably knew a lot about this laptop or just bought it for repair and did not have a clue. Sorin you are amazing.
Bravo Sorin! A spectacular repair and a joy to behold! I salute your tenacity. I salute your ingenuity and I salute you! Thank you for sharing the pain and the pleasure!
Thank you Sorin, I now know how to repair a ribbon cable. I have one to fix on Jaguar CD Changer to do. I've been thinking about how I was going to do this for the past few months. I've only just started to watch you in the last six months and have learned so much more, to the point that I want to go back to repair computers again after a break of 10 years...

Wow! Just wow! I think you just won the triple gold star award for going way above and beyond on this one. I'm constantly amazed at some of the things you persevere with and fix where others would just give up. Brilliant work. That laptop owner should be super grateful.
While thinking, it is difficult to do, at the same time as wanting to do it. And then everything goes well. I felt this pleasure while watching. Another great job Master!
£600 for the screen? Your labour, expertise and materials for you to charge. The thing is only worth £300 2nd hand. Why bother as a customer? Stunning repair Sorin.
22:20 you can remove this shields with tin the sides and then moving soldering iron with big tip from top of the shield. Also you can use 58°C or 80°C low-melt solder sticks and flux on the sides of the shield❤
This was an awesome repair! Very satisfying to watch, I know the happiness when you saw it working made up for the time it took to fix, also it was a challenge. Good motivators to like this line of work ;)
Amazing job Master!!! Such a proper calibrated job for a professional like you! ❤ Indeed very pleasent job for me if you had not to touch that expensive screen 😅 Also is nice to have a finally LONG VIDEOOOOOO 🎉

I didn't think the screen ribbon could be repaired, but with the right tools, miracles can happen, well done.
Or you can be dodgy and route a wire directly from connector instead of ribbon L part. Or even to a point in a screen where the ribbon leads to
