Cooler temperatures can cause excessive white varigation, so you may need to move your monstera with a lot of white to a warmer spot. Also, fertilizers that are comprised of urea, the urea doesn’t breakdown properly in cooler temps so that could also be a reason for the leaves to appear “burned” if your fertilizer does have urea. Switching to a fertilizer that is urea free in colder months and watering with it less frequently should help.
The whole new plant escapade had me rolling 🤣 When Ryan said he was going to stop to give it some water, I had so many questions going through my head…. “How you going to do that? Bad idea Ryan!” 😂

All kids are different. My 28 year old was a great kid my 17 year old was a lil angel but my now 4 year old is hell on wheels. I've raised all 3 the same. But this last one has tested me to the fullest smh

Aww that’s so cute, I had no idea people call that a dancing bones cactus. Fun fact: a piece of mine fell off outside and survived the whole winter out there. I’m in zone 7b. So it’s pretty cold hardy. 😱💚

I think I got my polyneura from the same etsy shop you did, a year ago in October. I did not have a mealy problem myself. I didn't realize it needed a certificate or something for it to be legal. Mine was wrapped up in clothes too but it was nice and big for $65 in a 6-inch pot (I did downpot it though, I think they grow it in a greenhouse cause it was really dense soil and I was worried it'd rot), came healthy and it shot out plenty of new growth for some time, and now it seems to be forming peduncles! The growth has slowed down a bit overall but I think that's partially because I don't fertilize much if at all like I should've. I had to buy it when I saw that price because people were selling cuttings for like $30 or 3-4in plants for almost $60! I'm happy with it, a shame yours had pests!
That 8ft plant is totally you! I friggin love it, its so wonky. Major brownie points for Ryan for going to get it AND film it. I'm impressed, plus is was quite a hilarious little scenerio. He's come a long ways embracing the plants!

Hey!!! Remember when you added the diatomaceous earth to water and used it in a sprayer. How did that work out for you ? I’m dealing with mealies right now and i am curious if that worked at all
To keep the white actually white and not brown and crispy: ADD SILICA!!!! You’ll notice a massive difference almost right away. Thicker and heartier leaves, bright whites; simply healthier and it’s so easy and makes a massive difference! .
Hey Harli!! I had a question, I’ve had houseplants before and just assumed I knew how to take care of them but now I’ve come to realize I’m not poison ivy. I had this scindapsus exotica and wanted to know if it survive in a clear pot such as the ones you’re using and when to know if I should repot it. The roots are popping out from the top and wanted your advice!!
I know you said your potting mix is mostly bark and cocoa chips but what ratio of these/other components do you include for these types of plants (you’ve probably said this before sorry to make you repeat)

I loved the Draceana Marginata before had two types but each winter they suffer these white grain looking rice pests on the bark. Hard to get rid off. So gave up on them. And the leaves don’t stay pointy they tend to get messy which i am not mad about.
Ryan does errand like I do, hahah. If I’m in the area, I visit the stores, no reason to miss the opportunity!

Oh man, gotta love the marketplace find big ones ❤. I'm just goin to get a 2,5meter yucca for 20e. A while ago got a 150cm benjamina for 25. But yeah, the price adds up if you have to pest control. You never know really if you get pests as a bonus. Your dracaena is soso dreamy!

I love my winter flowering plants too! It's so refreshing to look at on a dreary winter day. Currently, I have three African violets that are all in bloom and two of my three Thanksgiving cactus are in bloom. This was such a fun video to watch...every part of it 😊
I love your videos and they have helped me along the way with my own plant journey. I currently have about 130+ . Ive had all but about 5 for 3-5 years so they are all pretty massive at this point 😅. But i learned from watching your videos (among a few other planty content creators) that while succelents are fine being in the same pot for years they still benefit from being up-potted and having their soil freshened up. You haleped me grow my jade from 3" to 3' in 4 years!
Also you don't have an "ugly mug" 😂 your a beautiful and active young woman with 2 beautiful babies and a full time career caring for your family and home not to mention making content to educate and entertain a wide range of planty individuals ❤

I loved this video!!
First. I love flowering plants for that extra joy! I recently grew African violets from seed and they just starting bloom and it’s a happy surprise every time a bloom opens.
Second. I adopted an 9 ft dracaena (for free!) from a yard sale and it is one of my favorite plants. The shape is just so wonky and I love it!
Wow you're dedicated doing that dracaena. My small one has spidermites and I CBF dealing with it haha. No way I could take on something that big

I LOVE those tree supports that came with it. I also picked up one of those wine bottle chillers to try with my one of my anthuriums.
You can totally propagate the branch in water! I find that method works best for dracena!

I had a big one of those too. It was about a foot tall when I got it and after about 12 years it ended up hitting the ceiling. I ended up losing it, I think to one two many missed waterings. Don't do what I did. 😪 Anyway just got another one in a two inch pot called "coffee compacta". See how it goes. 👍
