Hi Harli! I love aged terracotta pots as well. A trick if you want to age new ones quickly is dissolve Epsom salts in a bucket of water and let the whole plant/planter soak in the bucket for 30 mins. Then the salt leeches through the clay and makes white patches and some texture. :) Super easy and effective!
I think it is the most insane thing I have read today. What appears on a old clay pot is simply limescale and fertilizer residue. Nothing desirable in there: the best way to allow unhealthy mold to take hold. This is really not healthy for plants (and humans) which prefer to be watered with non-calcareous water anyway.
Harli,I love your style. I too love how the terracotta ages,I’ve tried to get that white washed out paint look,I got one pot that I did and I love how it turned out! Love how to use all the thrifted glass plates/bowls for drainage saucers! Great video. 💚🪴👌🏻
@@Laurent-o2t To each their own. My plants have been going through this for years and I've seen no ill-effects. The Magnesium in the Epsom Salt feeds the plant and the salt fights bacteria and mold (I thought). If I ever saw a plant suffering, I'd re pot anyway. Thank you for your reply.
My brother is a landscaper for some pretty wealthy clients. He has rescued so many pots they wanted to get rid of. Lots of terra cotta and some others too. Some are huge!!! Since he isn't really a houseplant person and lives in a condo, he brings them up to me!!!!! 🎉
I wanna see the plant supply closet! I really LOVE the pots YOU MADE...They are so beautiful and different. I watched the video of how you made them ..you would need to charge a lot to sell those. Soooo tedious...but worth it!
Girl you are holding a business in your hands!! Those flower pots you made are gorgeous!!! I would love them setting with my plants so much!! I'm 63 ,seeing to do that intricate detail is impossible. But, I'm with you on upping my flower pot game. Love thrifting and repurposing beautiful items. Just subscribed, we are just alike. Abilene, Tx. ( Love the green one)!!!
The flat white planter would look cool with a whole mass of string of pearls. Also this video made me realize how long I have been watching your channel. So now I feel old. Back before itherr of us had kids.... 😅
Ahhhh Harli!!! Thank you yet again for sharing your love for handmade planters with me! I'm so glad your TeeniePot is still getting used! I've been able to throw much bigger now 🙆♀️ thank you again for sharing 🩷🩷🩷
I love this so much! I also love just collecting different types of vessels and saucers because they're cute or nice, and displaying them so I always have something I love to look at 😊 Your long table and tops of cabinets with all your empty pieces look so nice!
Hi ! I never comment & i watch all of your videos but i have to say Im currently in the same era of not collecting any new plants and just finding cool planters, and saucers that fit the plant! I also shared the idea with my mom of the thrifting some plant finds and it’s our new hobby together thank you ❤
Love it! What a collection! I just use ugly nursery pots (bcuz I overwater and need the drainage holes). But I’m on the lookout for cache pots or some sort of no-hole pot to place them in. I love your idea of terra cotta with a bowl/saucer which can be obtained from the dollar store or thrift store! You’ve given me so many ideas!!! Thank you!!! Definitely would love a “Thrift with me” video!!!! Thanks again! God bless!
Definitely not rude to talk about your work. They're really good! I still love the planter I got from you. The flowers are my favorite part. The memoria from you is still in it as well but is actively growing so I'll definitely have to find another starter plant for it when that one outgrows the space.
Love your whole collection!!! You should do a random comment giveaway for the seafoam planter. I think it is absolutely beautiful. And who wouldn't appreciate a handmade Harli creation 🩵
Looove all those pots! I like the ones that you make and paint too. You have so much talent! Hope you guys are having a great day, Sweetie! Love y'all❤❤
Hardenbergia violacea for the guy you made at 15.00. It’s shallow rooted and hardy as hell vine. If you give it enough sun it will put out lots of purple pea flowers in spring. The leaves are a really nice tone of green and it grows like crazy. Another underrated Aussie plant.
Some of my favorite planters are empty because I like to wait for the perfect plant. I'm so glad I'm not alone :). For the white bubble planter maybe a big silver squill? I feel like the growth pattern would work well for the flatter wider planter.
I am a terracotta gal for sure...patina snob? Lol the planters you made are works of art that i love more everytime you show them and it reminds me that i have some of that clay in my closet to play with!!! Maybe this winter ill have time ❤
I wish i wasn’t an underwaterer, cuz i love terracotta. Especially little baby terracotta. But dang do they dry out sooooo fast! Earth tones and natural materials are my jam
Thank you for this video. I love the planters that you made and I love how you painter the last one. I'm on a tight budget and I always like to see your ideas for thrifting and making great looking plantres at low cost. They are so very expensive now! I have lots of hobbies too. I just might get my paints out and paint another planter. It's been awhile since I did one. I'd love to see ideas on hanging plants too.😃♥🪴
I was literally just thinking I hope Harli does a planter video! Can you give some tips of matching plants & planters? 🥺 My arrangement is such a mess 😂😅
Omg this video was awesome 😊 bc of you I have thrifted so many pretty saucers and got ride of those flimsy plastic ones that you can’t even keep the water in without spilling 😭 so thank you for that :) also I love the planters that you have made, I really enjoyed watching you make one too. Take care
I completely stopped buying pots with saucers attached after I lost several plants due to overwatering ( that single hole was totally blocked by mud and roots). For the nice pots without drainage I have to hunt for the inner pot/liner which I poke with a soldering iron. So I became a regular dollar store customer in search for food containers, small buckets and so on.
Have you ever thought about an air plant for a few of your really small pots ? I love my air plants they look so cool in way small planters. I don't have a bunch of them, but they're quirky and looks cool 😎 🤪.
Loved this. Great idea to make a video about it. I also love my eclectic collection of planters. All with fun stories. Totally inspired to whip out my clay and make one now. Thanks girl 😘
I really enjoyed the planter tour you are so talented don't let that need to create go to waste that increases mental help also girl you got it goin on
I showed your weird Rudolph planter to my boyfriend and he loved it so much! I paused the video, went to their shop and bought the one that we loved the most. 😅
20:50 - I reckon SOP / SOH or some plants similar would look amazing in this planter. It will trail down the front but leave the rest of the beautiful planter rim exposed
I loved this video I am obsessed with unique quirky pottery!! Always love when you share your finds. You have inspired a lot of my pottery collection and I’ve started also thrifting glass dishes for saucers! A crusty terracotta planter in a crystal dish is such a vibe
Hi Harli. I have to admit that I wasn't sure if I'd be interested in this particular video about planters. But boy was I wrong!!! I'm only half way through the video and had a couple ideas I wanted to share. Have you ever thought about doing a coffee table book? Or maybe even doing something through Shutterfly. I would definitely be interested and willing to pay if offered. Another idea - Paige Wassel is a prop stylist (who also has a YT channel). I think your style paired with her design and prop expertise would marry well. I just think your style is so authentic, creative and unique. And I appreciate you sharing your thought process on how you come up with these ideas. Believe in yourself - I really think you could go places with this!
Thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoyed it! I had fun talking about them. I have truthfully never considered doing a book like that, but what a cool & exciting idea 🤩 I’m going to brainstorm for sure. Thanks for the idea ❤️ I’m going to have to look Paige up. I’m very intrigued!
Terracotta planters with patina are definitely my favorites. The more rustic the planter the better. Loved the video. Can’t wait for your thrifting one 😊
Ooh I love your polymer planters! You should show them off! They are beautiful and I’m sure so much work went into them. I’m going to have to find your video one day. I’ve made some with polymer and air dry but want to do some like yours!
Love love love this video! Like you, I have slowed down with my plant purchases and have focused more on acquiring unique planters. I too have an area where I display my ready-for-the-right-plant planters. They look so good stacked up, with their varying colours and textures. Why hide them! I just adore the terracotta coloured flower pot that you made!!! PS Oh my goodness! I forgot to mention how much I LOVE the pot that you hand painted (the one shown towards the end of the video). It is absolutely GORGEOUS!
I’ve been collecting cool pieces to “spice up” my collection lately too 😊 thrifting them definitely makes it more affordable, I’m excited for your next thrifting video. They are always fun!
HI, Harli! I love handmade, unusual shaped, aged terracotta pots, too! * have a crassula "fairy" that has stayed small for a long time. It would work well in a smaller pot. as well as a baby small leafed Hoya i.e. curtisii or Krohniana!!
I gotta say the Xuan325 shop at first felt like the Mom from Beetlejuice opened her own Etsy store!!😵💫🤣 But they do have awesome earthy stuff. I like their hanging planters. Love your collection (pots, especially your own creations and plants), I just found your channel and I've been enjoying catching up.✌🏽💚
I think you have a gift in designing your plant potting and displays! ❤❤❤and I used your vid and made some wee pots. Mine weren’t as good but I love them even though.
This was such a fun video! Thank you for making this!! For the mushroom pot with no holes (or vase) you suggested maybe an anthurium in moss. Do you have any other plants you suggest growing in moss like that? I have some pots with drainage holes that wouldn’t work as cover pots very well and I don’t know what to put in there!
My favs out of all of these are your hand made clay white with flowers and hand painted! I wish I had that talent ! Loved this video Would you consider doing a video on your trips? Paris, Belize, etc? I want to travel more and would love to see your experiences. Belize versus Costa Rica, which was better?
Hey! I would love to. I actually filmed a video while on Belize but the audio got really messed up & I couldn’t salvage it 🥲 I’m going to Thailand next week & will 100% be bringing my camera along to shoot a (hopefully) fun vlog of the trip!
I REALLY love the shape of the pots you made. I'd love to get some slightly larger because I often have the problem with plants that need height (because they hang down) but don't need a huge pot. For example, your " wonky" pilea or vining plants like pothos. I actually fell in love with the white "mushroomy" one you showed shortly after yours until I realized the vessel went all the way to the bottom. I would probably use that one as more of a saucer with a small planter that can nestle into the rounder top...or even better, put a small planter bag in it that can form to the shape a bit better. I love that there is a channel where I can gush about things like planter shapes with people who also appreciate it. Lol. I see a cute container at a friends house and go on about how it would be a great planter (in detail and why) and could get some funny looks. Lol.
For those amazing small masterpieces I would suggest Haworthia. There are so many shapes and textures to choose. Many of my Haworthias came from Arid Land Greenhouses. They ship succulents and cacti bareroots, and the shipping price is affordable.

This is such a wonderful pro tip! Thank you for sharing. I immediately dumped salt in a bowl to try it haha

Hoya lineras would look adorbs in that deer planter😍🥰
I also love kitchy mid century ceramic planters like your deer. There is such a variety and a very slippery collecting slope!
You have changed my mind about Thrift Stores! Whenever I get a chance to go, I always find fun glass, saucers, and pot type bowls and vases!! ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love coraline as well ! Cool video
Your home made pos are my very most favorites! Someday I want to try.
Harli I'm in love with the planter you made with the flowers the terracota color❤
I love this so much! I also love just collecting different types of vessels and saucers because they're cute or nice, and displaying them so I always have something I love to look at 😊 Your long table and tops of cabinets with all your empty pieces look so nice!
You NEED to paint more of your own. That one's a STUNNER !
(The tiny little ones, you could put some dirt in them and shove a cutting in them.)
Hi ! I never comment & i watch all of your videos but i have to say Im currently in the same era of not collecting any new plants and just finding cool planters, and

I LOVE the turquoise one you made!!

In the skull planter, I think a variegated bones cactus would look so cool 😎
I have all terracotta or white pots.
Love your pots ❤
You’re an artist! 😘

I love the pots you made. I wish you sold the cascading flower pots. So beautiful!
This was an enjoyable video.

❤❤❤toot your own horn.. I love your pots and saucers

I love your collection, and yes, you should totally give the sea foam planter away! Lol I love it
The white bubble planter two layers would be perfect for a group of succulents or a bonsai
I absolutely love the planter pots you made!! please tell me you’re gonna sell them on your store page! If not maybe think about it lol
Aw thank you! I have considered it, but they take so much time & i have no idea how to price them so it has been a bit of a hang up
Have you ever thought about an air plant for a few of your really small pots ?

My gerbils are named Alexander vibin ski and wybie and I’m so happy to hear your pit is named wybie !
I love the planters you made the 3 legged seafoam and the painted one! I'd totally get them.
I love your planters ❤ so cuuuute
Thank you & thanks for watching! I appreciate ya!

Such a fun video to watch! I thrift most of my pots, nothing as cool as you have but maybe i need to get back into pottery
Finding a good one while Thrifting is 🤌
You could antique the seafoam flowery pot you made!
I love them I'm going to do the same thing , love it😍
I gotta say the Xuan325 shop at first felt like the Mom from Beetlejuice opened her own Etsy store!!😵💫🤣 But they do have awesome earthy stuff.
Aw thank you Glenda. That especially means a lot coming from you: an incredible artist ❤️
Also, I’d love to see the pots you made
This was such a fun video!

Would you consider doing a video on your trips? Paris, Belize, etc? I want to travel more and would love to see your experiences.
Belize versus Costa Rica, which was better?
Hey! I would love to. I actually filmed a video while on Belize but the audio got really messed up & I couldn’t salvage it 🥲
I’m going to Thailand next week & will 100% be bringing my camera along to shoot a (hopefully) fun vlog of the trip!
& absolutely hands down Costa Rica is my favorite place I’ve ever visited. I want to go back.
here's a thought, make a clay stand with your flower enbellishment as a stand for one of your glass pieces!
It would look nice with a variegated African violet as they like self watering pots. And this beautiful white pot you have is similar.
I like your sweater.
I would suggest spraying the white bubble planter with a glaze so it won’t get ruined.
I think that some like alocasia corms that have just unfurled leaves would be good in those little planters
Girl you inspired me ..I bought 2 pots...one for xuan and 1 from sickkitty..but my hubby wants to know where you got the skull planter? ❤
Gosh Harli, the Xuan planters are cool - but very expensive! I’d have to sell my plants to afford them😂
Hello.
I absolutely love those planters you made with those flowers… like wow!!!!
Can you sell me some?????!!!!
A small airplant for the 5 legged pot🙂
What about tiny cactus? Like props off a barrel cactus or spiral cactus? Roots stay small for long time
A birds nest fern or a crocodile fern would look cool in the skull!
I do the same with containers glass ones for smaller succulents espically
use all the tiny ones to root succulents
