Hi there! Thank your for your kind words and honest feedback :) Today's update could be interesting for you though.... because this game is really not complicated and we have a great way to show this :) Keep up the great work!
Hey Stefan, I'll definitely take a read of todays update, thank you for letting me know! I'll equally pin this so that folks can equally see. It looks like a super fun game and I'm really glad to see that you're fully funded, hope the rest of the campaign goes well!
Exactly my first impression, too, perfectly summarized! Nice production, cool theme and looks, good company behind it, but a bit much going on, worries about the number of players necessary and I just don't like the "dead man walking"-mechanic theme-wise. Also, their last game already had the criticism of being an awful teach with too much mechanics and fiddliness but with a great game beneath that. Games that are hard to table and need a big group just won't see enough playtime. Wish them success with the people that have the right game group for a game like this, though, seems like they deserve it! :)
re: pulse cards, it sounds like they may have been better to adopt a 'infection' system (riffing off the one in Nemesis), which would have a better thematic reasoning for a delayed 'death'.
I have the two Human Punishment previus game from Godot Games... I really like them, also good quality, but with Covid was really, impossible to table them and also now I prefer to play more coop game than deduction one..
Yeah the timing of Covid really didn't help the past releases which is really unfortunate. They seem like a lovely team of people and are really active in the campaign at the moment which is great to see
@@shouldyoubackit İ really like the team behind the game... İ wish İ have the financial (and space at home...) to support them but there are other type of game that I'm sure will hit the table more...
Re: complexity of social deduction, I think the appetite for this varies between people who play such games occasionally, or those who play the genre regularly, and especially liking to play such a game repeatedly. For me, they are rare games in our group, and invariably there are new players to teach. Thus we'll generally aim for low complexity (e.g. Saboteur), though Blood on the Clocktower, with the narrator role, has done a reasonable job at supporting new players.
Thanks for this review. I so love the visuals and beautiful artwork of this game, but I share your concers. Also I feel the creators are pushing back against fair criticism more than listening to it. One example is on this page. They can think it's not a hard game to teach, but the players decide that. I think they should improve on a few things before publishing.
I was curious about this game, but I agree with you, this feels very hard to teach and not intuitive game mechanics... Would you consider making a video about Heroes of might and Magic III board game?
I couldn't say as I've not played it. For me it looked like there was a ton of content, way too much for me to likely get through but I've heard good things about the game
@@shouldyoubackit Thank you for your honesty. I would support you through like Patreon if you had one, because for every channel that really tries to sell on us on the latest trends and gaming (which they hypnotically end up making some 'heartfelt' Video on how you don't need to buy more at some point in their creation cycle), there needs to be five more channels like you that keep it straight. There is just too much FOMO and anxiety thanks to crowdfunding our hobby.
Rather than recommending it, I'd suggest you focus on these key questions when watching a gameplay video 1. Does the dice choice / manipulation /mitigation system appeal or slightly concern you? 2. How do you feel about the ship book phase? Does it excite for the ship development prospects or worry you as detracting from the planetary missions 3. Could you commit significant time to it / do so with friends. It's not overly long per session, but there's much to get through in multiple sessions There are other factors such as the (IMO excellent) voice acting, AR's high quality minis, a reasonably original story, etc. but I'd have those 3 questions as the ones that might prompt you to say "no". Disclaimer: I did back it and happy I did, but each of those had me passing on the campaign, but late pledging once I'd seen more info (I especially liked the changes to streamline the shipbook)
@@iansutton7416 I wasn't looking for that much on it from him. I've already done this dissection and found it wasn't for me personally. I just wanted a few words from his perspective.
I'd say definitely give some gameplay a watch, it's definitely in the right vein and would definitely be a lot deeper than Resistance (which is a ton of fun) so it may be a step up if you think it'd make sense for your group.

Totally agree, seem like great folks, everything looks cool. Just doesn’t fit with me and my group.

Blood on the Clocktower is one I'm hoping to try soon, heard good thigns

I think there's a lot to love in the game, the high play count and potentially confusing teach just make it a bit out of reach for me and my group :(

Sorry I wont be making a video on Heroes of Might & Magic :(
Would you recommend ISS V?

My friends and I enjoy Resistance from time to time. This game sounds fun but a little too in depth
