Man coming back and watching this makes me miss the hell out of my 2016 😭. My 5.0L sounds nice and rowdy but damn it’s hard to beat this type of nice and clappy sound only a 5.3L can produce.
4.6v8 triton is the hardest clapping v8 there is in my opinion. But gah you cant beat them 5.3’s😮💨😮💨
I left the 3rd cat and split it into duals with a 4 inch pipe…..much deeper tone without the cackle. I wouldn’t mind a tad bit more cackle to it but it has a beautiful deep tone.

I was about to do that to mine, I am so glad I ran across this video, Exhaust sounds are personal preference to what you like really, I’m not crazy about this sound, so I think I’m just going to go with the True duals with 2 super 44 flow masters and two 6” tips, I like the deep aggression sound but not so loud you piss everyone off around you lol you have a beautiful truck though, I have a Black 2018 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3, I love my truck. lol
Late comment but I did duel inlet dual outlet flow master super 10 and probably the best sounding exhaust in my opinion …. Super deep growl but not obnoxiously loud

I have a 18’ Chevy Silverado as well but I’m in between if I should get the SLP system or something like that, I wasn’t quite sure what my buddy told me he had on his truck and @Godwin’s truck. I got mine done in Lumberton, NC at Mufflers Plus. I got mine at the Range Technology website.

Thank you! I was hitting about 3,500-4,500rpms and a few I hit the red line. Honestly the noise from the exhaust inside the cab isn’t too bad, the tire noise is slightly more audible than the exhaust at high speeds 70+, decent but moderate tire noise.
@@jason.godwin nice! I have a carven exhaust out the passenger side and it’s kind of annoying when I drive for long distances at 70+ mph. Is your truck tuned by chance? In park, I can rev past like 3500.

How loud are those cold starts? Ive heard a tahoe with true duals drive by and its not terribly loud just crusing and slow take off. But i get the feeling those cold starts are bad. Im trying to do this to my 2011 silverado. And have you ever had cops ticket you?
Cold starts are pretty loud, fortunately no cops have gave me a ticket.
@@jason.godwin I gotcha. I think when I go to do it later this year I’ll put some mini high flow cats in place of the 3rd one to keep it toned down.

Tell them you want a True Dual Cat back exhaust. You want to get the 3rd Cat, resonator and muffler removed. The only thing you’ll want left is the 1st 2 factory cats.

In my county in NC it is legal, however my county is the only county around me that allows it to pass inspection.
Question, so I have a 2016 that’s identical to yours. At stock height and is sitting on 22’ snowflakes with the 275/45R street tires. I’m thinking of doing the dual cat back exhaust setup like ya got here. But I’m worried about my gas mileage dropping. I cut the 3rd cat off my 2016 single cab that I had before, but didn’t do duals. I believe the mpg went down on it. I don’t think I was being too heavy on the gas pedal. How was your mpg effected? Some insight would be helpful.
I got my exhaust done when I still had my stock 18’s and 31’s. I didn’t notice a significant drop in MPG’s. If it did drop it was only by about 1 or 2 miles per gallon. Before I got the exhaust I got roughly 18 city/21 highway, afterwards it was basically the same maybe the city mileage went down slightly but the highway was the same.
Only thing that drastically caused my gas mileage to go down is my current wheel and tire setup.

@@jason.godwin Bc right now, I think I roughly get 460 to an entire tank. I think it’s a 24 gallon tank, correct me if I’m wrong.
I believe I have a 26 gallon tank and I’d get about 430ish. I can’t exactly remember but now i only get like 330 per tank with my current set up
I know for a fact I averaged around 17.7mpg so that would be roughly 460 if I did the math correctly

Is the programmer plug and play? Curious because mine only has 18k miles and has tons of warranty left. I know if I ever pull in to get warranty work and they see the cylinder bypass they’ll void all my warranty. But if it’s plug and play and I could unplug it if anything ever happens? Right ?
Yessir, plugs into the OBD2 port located under the steering wheel right above your feet. Does not void warranty. It just tricks the truck into thinking it’s under a load to keep it in v8. Just make sure the truck is off when you plug it in or unplug it.

Hey buddy what did your mpg do when you added the exhaust? Just curious. I have a 2018 crew cab with 7 inch lift on 35’s with the range programmer and only getting 11.5 mpg right now lol, no big deal just curious
Exhaust didn’t really effect my mpg honestly. I have a 9in FTS with 26x14’s and 37in gladiators and I’m getting around 9mpg-11.5mpg depending.

No sir, the 3rd cat isn’t connected to the trucks computer. Only thing connected to the computer is the first two cats, the ones I didn’t cut out.

Yessir it should work fine. I’m not sure if they have the AFM/v4 mode stuff so you’d have to definitely look into that to see if you’ll need a AFM/v4 mode disabler or whatever it is that would make the exhaust sound bad.

Shouldn’t since it doesn’t mess with anything connected to the trucks computer. However, each dealership is different some are more strict than others.

In my county we don’t have emissions testing and all you have to have is 1 cat per pipe. So yes I did pass with this exhaust. Only thing keeping me from passing was tint and squat
