HONDA CBR 650R FIRST CRASH

  • Hey guys, welcome back to the channel! As you can see, I kinda crashed my CBR 650R... I know it's my fault, the weather wasn't great, road and tires were cold and the road wasn't dry in that turn.
    Anyways, I also wanted to showcase the new high tinted windscreen that I got, it's OEM from Honda and looks absolutely amazing in my opinion!
    The CBR650 R is already at the repair shop for a few costly repairs but should be done soon. I'm completely fine, which is the most important thing.
    I hope you guys enjoyed this video, if you did, please give it a like and subscribe!! Peace!

    Respect for posting it and not blaming it on anyone else but you.
    You need to clean up your lane-positioning going into and through the corners though, at so many times you could have ended in a much worse position than you were. Like the last corner before you actually wipe out, you're running way too wide. At that point you should realize that you might be fatigued and take it down a notch since fatigue can lead to bad decisions.
    And bad decisions were made on the very next corner when you went in too fast (again), applied a lot of lean angle and didn't wait untill the bike was about to get upright again before CAREFULLY feeding throttle.
    I contribute this to lack of experience, maybe not properly trained in the first place. And fatigue from riding HARD in cold conditions causing your lack of experience to come through even harder, throwing you off the bike.

    • @MotoSquidYT
      @MotoSquidYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks man, can't blame it on anything else besides my own stupidity😂
      Honestly, there were a lot of reasons why riding like this was dumb, road conditions weren't great, wet spot on the road, cold tires, riding fast on roads I don't know well enough etc.
      Lane-positioning is very important and I know I ran much wider in that last corner (before wiping out), fatigue can affect you a lot, and while you try to push yourself more you end up making bad decisions.
      I went in a bit too fast in the corner where I wiped out, there was too much lean angle for the wet surface and I did apply more throttle and sooner than I should've.
      I guess you can also say lack of skill, but I feel like it was more of being really stupid, being a bit tired and pushing limits on roads that I don't 100% know and in not so great conditions

    You're doing way to much in the corner, you're on/off throttle, tapping the front brakes in the corner with lean angle. You're riding way above your skill level boss. I'd stay away from riding like a hoon until you know how to ride. Be lucky you got away with a simple low side with no car coming in the other lane and no guard rail waiting for you. There was so many times in this video you could have had a far worse crash than you did. But respect for posting it, learn to get better don't get caught in the hype videos bro it isn't worth it

    • @MotoSquidYT
      @MotoSquidYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I agree with most of what you're saying, it was definitely dumb to go this fast in these road conditions with cold tires. The on/off throttle is not just because of skill, but also because of not knowing these turns that well... pushing "limits" in not so good conditions and not knowing the road well enough is dumb. It was very lucky that there wasn't any oncoming traffic or any guard rails.

    Ok listen, the conditions weren‘t optimal and POSSIBLY there was something on the road but the tires certainly weren‘t too cold. You made 2 very essential mistakes here, that are also repeadey visible in the rest of the footage:
    1. you were WAY too early on the throttle, the slip occurs exactly when you open the throttle before the apex of the corner and simultaneously try to keep or increase lean angle. You either have to be way softer on the throtte or just start to wait until the corner „opens“ (past the apex). This was not only past the limit of the bike but also your personal limit.
    2. you were hyping yourself (and also us) up all the time („let‘s go boys“ „we‘re in focus mode now boys“ „we‘re dialed in“) which makes me believe you constantly pushed yourself more and more towards your personal limits. With this weather that‘s definitely not the right time and place to do so. I‘m with you on squidding on known roads in good conditions but please don‘t do it in those conditions ever again.
    While there might have been something on the road this crash is 100% something that you could have avoided and therefore you can learn and grow from it.
    Take care and ride on!

    • @MotoSquidYT
      @MotoSquidYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree the conditions weren't optimal, I would at least say the stock tires weren't warm enough. Not knowing the road well enough and trying to push "limits" is just a dumb idea and I can't blame anyone else but me.
      If you notice in the video, I ran much wider in a turn right before the crash, I was a bit tired and should've slowed down then. Instead I tried to push myself and it lead to some stupid decisions. I agree I was on the throttle a bit early and maybe should've also been softer. The TC on the bike didn't even turn on how quick that low side was.
      I definitely try to keep the videos "hype" so I did push myself a bit too much. Squidding is fun, but like you said, there's a right time and place for that. And it's definitely not the right time in worse conditions.
      I saw a wet spot which could've helped the tire to lose traction, still definitely learned a lot from the crash, thank god I'm good and the bike should be ready next week.

    • @MotoSquidYT
      @MotoSquidYT  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Basically I'd say a few things combined, OEM tires are definitely pretty crap in cold and wet conditions. I also rode fairly hard for over an hour so I was a bit tired, instead of slowing down I kept pushing myself, I think I was on the throttle a bit too early, and when you add the bad tires and wet road, it caused the bike to lose grip almost instantly. I had TC on and it didn't even try to help lol. Definitely learned a lot though, will try to keep the super fast stuff for the track and will wait for better weather

      I believe it was many things added together that caused me to crash... weather conditions weren't great, road was a bit wet in that turn, those OEM Dunlop tires aren't great either. I also think I was on the throttle a bit too early... I was riding at a faster pace for a few hours, instead of letting off and taking a break I pushed myself more and that's how it ended.

      You're right, it was a rookie mistake. I was riding for a longer time and instead of taking a break, I kept pushing myself and made a stupid mistake.

    Driving that fast in a suburban area is what gives motorcyclist a bad reputation, total disrespect for others lives.

      dude this is east europe. We don't really have highways and they are crowded as hell, especially in Czechia where this guy lives. And there are not so many tracks to ride, in my country for example there is none that is available, 1-2 times a year and the rest is junk. So your best shot is the national/country roads. Less traffic, slower cars, corners to enjoy... and where the dude is ripping in this video is not populated area ! its literaly a forest... And in this "less developed" countries the mentality is fcking sh1t, people are hating you just because you have a nice and new bike and they cant afford it, and they would speeding too trust me but they are too poor and losers to achieve anything in their life... balkan life is trash

    Eso te enseñara a no hacer el tonto en la carretera, eso no es un circuito.

      Yeah, that was stupid of me to ride like this, and in those weather conditions. It's definitely better to keep it for the track

    Im surprised why it took you so long to crash in such wet conditions and too much self-confidence.

      We all get humbled sooner or later😅 Going that fast in those conditions was pretty dumb, definitely learned my mistake tho
