    I myself have done a lot of tire testing. In warm weather above 80deg, harder compounds shine. Example: traxxas canyon trails, axial r35, proline G8. In cooler weather below 60deg. Your softer compound start to shine. Example Green, red, predator. Would have like to see some traxxas canyon trails or axial r35 trepadors in the test against the softer compound in your test.

    I got into this hobby a couple of months ago. Having just upgraded the steering servo on my truck and enjoying a very real, very noticeable improvement I can only imagine the convenience/advantage of setting the throttle 'Trim' as you'rs are set up to do.
    Fiddling with electronics and wires always intimidated me, but damn I'm envious.

    It's a shame there's no great way of testing both tyres on dirt conditions (as it's always changing) as i think the newer KLR's would perhaps perform better there.
    What's also interesting as well as lots of people claim the AXE is the smoothest, slowest set up you can fit in a crawler, but that Holmes in the Superlight looks like it's a little smoother and slower on the lowest of the low.
    As always, great video.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes on a more dirt terrain the KLR M hooks up way better, on straight rock and evidently wood, the old KLR is better. Where I comp I prefer the M because of the dirty terrain. I have the 2300,2700 and 3300 version of the axe and they are awesome, I have a bunch of videos with them as well. The Holmes/1080 is fantastic and absolutely perfect for the light weight axial.

    My personal experience, the Ms pulled lines on Ohio sandstone (I believe) the OGs couldn't touch. Same truck, same day. Thankfully my board climbing in competition is minimal and usually not that steep.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daan Veltman problem with testing in mud is consistency. It changes every time, where I comp, it’s a mix of dirt, sand, wood and concrete and yes the M’s outperform the OG tires in that environment.

    Are both tires new or are the originals already run? I've heard that all the tires usually get better/stickier after a few runs, or am I wrong?

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HEMITJ the OG KLR’s have a lot of run time. The M’s have about 12 runs on them. I washed both sets to even them up as much as I could for this test. Some tires get better with runtime as both them and the foams break in.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      g9000 the Hyrax is a good tires, the KLR M’s you see here may have failed on this test but they perform great on more surfaces than the OG ones do. They also have nice sidewalls with biters so it may be worth giving them a try.

      skirmich , I have both the G8 compound and the Predator compound Skirmich , and I’ve had tears in both , its beach rock so it’s pretty round and not too sharp. I’m going to try the KLR , having said that the Proline Hyrax are so good for grip on nearly any terrain , just wish they would tackle this tearing sidewall issue 🤷🏻‍♂️
