Hey Shok, great video. Not sure why there aren't more vids like this. It's very valuable. One thing I think would help a lot is posting unfavorable matchup/blind pick/team gap games where, for example, you're vs. a counter with more wave clear, and team is feeding hard with a passive jungler. Low elo players have few complaints when things are going well-but mentals boom when things go badly and fundamentals go out the window. So more examples of how to climb yourself out of holes, examples of when a game just isn't winnable and how to still learn from it, and examples of how to make decisions in worst case scenarios would help a lot. Or even better, playing these types of games on a 200+ game 44% winrate tanked MMR account perhaps in a promo game where the matchmaking will make it difficult (I'm sure your viewers would love to volunteer their logins), versus a fresh account, as it would more accurately depict the low elo experience from that rank's perspective. Most educational smurf content is on accounts with good MMR thus an inaccurate depiction of your average Bronze-Silver game. I would tune into a stream where you're logging into viewers' hardstuck accounts, playing their main, and fishing for hard games to educate with (and switching accounts before you win enough to be considered boosting). You've become my favorite educational midlaner, keep up the great work! I'll definitely be watching every video in this series.

I’m in this elo bracket and the explanation for why you opened mid instead of bot (21:30 in the video) was super helpful, already translating into my games. Would be interested in seeing a control mage vod, cause i feel like they are hard to pilot in the sidelane and are played alot in this elo bracket.

Felt like i somehow learned more of this video than almost all other league guides combined, maybe its just that you are so good at explaining every situation even in the messy low elo and that teaches things better for a hard stuck emerald like me than a super well played challenger matchup on midlane, since here u can actually see the mistakes the enemy makes and its much more realisitic if u know what i mean xd thank you so much for this video and i would also be SUPER grateful if you could slip one akali game in this series, MUCH love for you! Enjoyed it a lot! For some champion suggestions, an you play Malz (like ahri with push and roam but isn't as fast on rotations but has a powerful single target lock down) and also Anivia (Great scaling area control burst mage that can also do well early, struggles with artillery but has been good for a while)
I think you explain your mindset pretty good man be exited to see more and I'd be happy to see more ahri 100% because I'm going to start maining her again 😁😁👌 maybe you could mostly do ahri games and then just single feature episodes on other champs people vote for
Hi Shok, love the gameplay and informative content! I had some questions: 1. 2:20, warding, since we know lee went bot, isnt it better to hug top of lane, and keep the ward in this instance? As well, is a Sol guide in the works or any gameplay being put out with him?
If you wanted to greed it you probably could save your ward, but I'm about to have my 2nd one ready anyway so I felt like I might as well use it. I'll try get some asol gameplay!
I personally love watching Smurf content, but I don’t want you to force yourself into anything you don’t enjoy. I love all your videos for the big brain knowledge 🧠🧠
This is extremely helpful! Would you consider playing a different champion each game, so as many people as possible can learn specific tips for their champion in low elo (I’m a silver Azir main)?
Could you show how you play against some counterpicks/hard matchups? Not saying that Sett is an easy one, but it's not something you see very often mid.
Can I be honest with you? I know that people request this type of content a lot, but I really think: A) It's of no value to the person watching it (at least not in the way they think it is) B) It creates a very negative toxic experience in the rank you are smurfing at. Let me explain: A) The thing is that your mental stack is way different from that of a player in the elo you are playing at, which is what allows you to dominate the game, the person watching this doesn't have this mental stack. If we compared this to chess you are essentially playing 10 steps ahead, while a person watching this might be 3 steps ahead. So it's almost impossible for them to gain a ton of value out of this type of video since they don't view the game the same way you do. They would get the same amount of benefit watching you play at your own ELO. Another thing is that your tethering, spacing, mechanical ability is again something they can't imitate, and this is also what allows you to carry the game and build an advantage. In fact because you are winning so easily it's harder to notice what you are doing correctly, unlike where you struggle a bit vs your lane opponent at your own rank B) As someone currently in Emerald I cannot describe to you how bad it feels to get wrecked by someone surfing. Just two days ago the enemy had a jungle Graves who was on a 37 game winstreak out of unranked on a brand new account. Needless to say our jungler got decimated, the whole team flammed them and it really wasn't their fault. I was playing top Vlad and even though I was winning lane, it was for naught. Graves just ended the game before I could scale to match him. The issue again isn't really in the lost game it is in the gamestate that you create in the enemy team. There is a loss in sense of fairness and it also generally reinforced the negative mentality of "booster on the enemy team", "gg ff at 15", "we don't deserve to win", "surr or I afk" etc. In my opinion there is enough of that in the League by itself without you (and other content creators that do this type of videos) adding to it. Of course at the end of the day I know this is your job and that this generates clicks and revenue for you, and it's your livelihood and I respect that. So no matter what you decide to do, I think you channel is very good and helpful, but I just needed to share my opinion on this. if you managed to read this far you are a real champ man xD
I agree somewhat. Smurfing is overall unhealthy for the game and should be removed, this is on Riot though, I don't think it's fair to blame individuals for this. I also agree that people would get the same amount of benefit from watching me play in my own elo, but people have a lot of delusions around this stating that these plays only work because I have challenger teammates or that they believe the game is different in challenger (it is a little, but the same fundamentals apply at all ranks). Overall I hope this series removes some of the misconceptions people have around lower elo and hopefully some of the concepts/techniques I use they can apply to their own games. They don't need to copy everything I'm doing, even if they take only 1 or 2 things away from this video for e.g. warding and hugging to it, playing safe when ult is down, that can help them improve.
@@ShokLeague Hey man first of all I appreciate the fact you read everything and even took the time to reply. For the Riot thing I mean I do agree that it's on them, but also the counter argument is like. There are drugs in the world I might as well sell them, because if I don't someone else will, and it's the government's job to stop it. (Sorry for the harsh comparison, I don't believe the issue is nearly as severe, but it's 3 AM here and this is the only thing my brain could come up with). Aka Be the change you want to see around you and all that zen stuff :D People that have these grand delusions about themselves are not really the people that want to improve IMO. They want to be validated and that's a totally different issue. Fundamentals rule the game at every rank, and the only thing that changes is how frequently and to what "size" does the mistake happen the higher up the rank you go. I don't know if this is correct, this is again just my opinion. And again up to Plat I think the most basic thing that could carry people there is CSing correctly, and learning to base properly. But that stuff sounds boring and people would much rather do GIGA MEGA ULTRA outplay, than whack a minion correctly, the dopamine hit is just not the same :D
I think the one thing holding me back in silver is I always end up having only 6-7 cs minute. My trading has gotten really good and I’ve been getting better about panning over to fights to see if they’re worth taking but I think I just need a little more gold and I should be able to carry easier.
Nice video, if I can give a tip: try to win without "flashy plays" when playing in these lower elos, that way it shows how it's more about the basics and less about champion mastery. You already kinda did it in this one, especially in lane, although Ahri is a bit mechanically tricky. Would love to see some Syndra, Lux
Definitely coulda bought it and normally do on Ahri, here I was thinking because my bounty is so high they are gonna want to invest everything into killing me and if I die + give mejai stacks the game could be hard
Hi Shok Just wondering if you ever going to pursue a modelling career? You have quality Features i think suited for a better career path P.S When can i expect that $20?
i guess he didnt cause a silver player shouldnt until he kinda masters the not sucked into bad fights part. He played most of this game with no risk taking at all when at times he knew he can. It was dor educational purposes is what im saying.
Normally you should on Ahri, I was thinking this game I'm the only fed member and have a huge bounty so they will really want to kill me and I don't want to give over both mejais and shutdown at the same time because that could make the game hard.
Yes, I don't really like smurfing but enough people wanted me to create an educational unranked to masters series and I tried my best to make it as valuable as possible, though I realize it probably sucked for the people I played against.
@@ShokLeague Respectable answer. You're probably helping more people than you're hurting, and there are definitely a couple of other guys on here who's entire channels almost revolve around the whole "unranked to your moms house" type of videos.
Slightly confused about the ward and lane placement. When you say “hug to the ward”, are you playing on the opposite side of the lane to the ward placement like in the example with Lee Sin’s first gank v ahri? Does it not make more sense to play on the side of the lane that has the vision there?
When he said hug the ward he already knew that lee sin was bot side since viego was clearing his jungle. That means he can hug the top side bush instead. But what he meant by hug the ward is that if he didn't know where lee sin was, you should stay closer to the warded side.
WOOOW ! First impressions on me ! Your fundmentals videos are still bookmarked on my tabs i watched midlane fundmentals one hour and 14 minutes video and some more but not finished your 21 video on midlane fundementals ! I wish if you could play your low elo tier list to show us how it looks!! I tried to play your low elo champion tierlist and i didnt climb out of silver my bad and i give up because i thinked ah ok midlane its not for me and back to support and i climb out of silver hiting platinum II but its all same it doesent matter ... booy its getting long text.. This is my results, like i said i try your tierlist for low elo so i i suggest to see how that tierlist really looks when perform correctly thanks for this series thats so much exsiting keep it up and good luck ahgah :D
@@ShokLeague We have your midlane low elo tier list from last season but we dont know how to execute this champions on rank 1 perfromance i mean you should put this low elo characters in your new episodes of this serie how challenger carries low elo we saw Ahri she was S+ tier in your low elo tierlist great job
Those Garen dodges are not low-elo must be smurfing too. Also thank your this video is very useful I'm main Ahri and many times I'm find myself lost in the game, even when I'm very fed my team is very behind and I don't know where to go or what decision make to be able to use my lead to actually win, and many times I lose and feel angry at myself because I couldn't carry the game, please keep posting Ahri specially in Bronze elo because it's full of smurfs
I play a lot of ahri, and have been confused about something. At 3:49 in-game you get 40 gold. I get that same thing randomly every game and I don't know what it's from. Do you know?
@@AmokBR not true. If you watch at 3:49 you can see there’s not a cannon on the screen, and he gets +40 gold in between farming creeps. This happens to me once or twice a game, and it’s not from minions
Triple Tonic rune At level 3, gain an Elixir of Avarice. Elixir of Avarice: On use, gain 5 true damage on-hit against minions for 60 seconds. At the end of this effect, gain 40 gold.
Not a fan of smurf content to be honest. Maybe if you had some kind of a handicap like only locking in champs you don't usually play or going to another server for higher ping.
I did try higher ping content before but people weren't really interested. I could do locking in champs I don't normally play, but then I'll get lots of backseating comments OR people having their delusions proved correct because a challenger player is losing in lower elo. imo just better to do it like this
Im currently trying to get out of bronze. I've noticed even if we have a lot of winning lanes the games last for a very long time. I try to make baron calls around the 20 minute mark but my team does not want to follow. Anyway to make games that should last 20 minutes actually last 20 minutes? Lol
Nah if your team doesn't listen to the best thing you can do is just keep farming/taking fights etc. Kinda unfortunate but there isn't much you can do if they don't follow
I remember u saying many times that u generally dont like smurfing and u kinda explained it in the beginning, but what about 1 video = 1 fundamental stuff? I think it would be pretty unique and still along with what u usually make content about
My account is somewhat cursed. It's quite easy for me to hit masters in flex (queuing up solo), but when it comes to soloq, I barely can escape gold/silver. Opponents are always somehow up to teamwork and willing to win and my team is not. Just went on a big lose streak, falling from gold 2 to silver 3💀
I think it's just a mentality issue. flex and soloq sure are different, but not enough to make masters and gold the same level. If you truly are masters in flex, you probably know a lot of in-game concepts needed to get leads, close out games and come back from lost matches, so I guess it has to be something by the psychological side. if i'm like plat-emerald level and it's easy for me to get out of gold, it should be even easier for you. even if you are losing games, people there should feel pretty bad to play against and you should climb without any real problems. so yeah, i would bet in an outside problem rather than an inside one.
@@lage041 If only I could close it solo as a mage... Classic: - playing asol - winning my lane - roaming my as off trying to get our team ahead - a few to zero deaths myself - yet they're busy coinflipping and dying to number disadvantages - 20 minutes into the game - we're still ahead, but the team is constantly throwing the lead and refusing to take towers/barons or even group up - it went to the late game - ace after aces, we could end it like 10 times already but we didn't - the opponents somehow still willing to win - they manage to ace us once and barely end the game - that's it, my teammates now are tilted to the abyss - one bad teamfight and we lose In the scenario where all the lanes behind, they simply lose the will, start straight up inting, and it's autodefeat... Never the opposite. Still mentality problem of mine? More likely I'm cursed to have mentally unstable people in my team
@@spookyscarygraviton5944I always think of it like this, my team always has 4 bad players, and the enemy team always has 5 bad players, over time, if I'm playing consistently and not screwing up, I should climb. This really helped my mental a lot and stopped me from tilting.
This content is absolutely useless and people who ask for it dont understand it. Watching a challenger player smurf in lower elo does not make you a better player, because the challenger player has all this understanding of the game which he performs unconsciously. There is no way a silver can learn how to get out of silver from shok because they operate on a completely different level, he lacks the muscle memory. The only thing he can try and understand is how to use abilities on ahri, which he can learn from watching shok play in challenger anyway. All in all this is just shok destroying some silver players experience. Come on man, go back to your elo
Ultimately it's up to the people watching to take things away from this video. They don't need to copy everything I'm doing, they just need to take 1 or 2 of the concepts I talk about (for example playing safe when you don't have ult, or making sure you ward correctly) and that will help them improve. If they keep doing that then they'll climb out of their elo.
@@ShokLeague i agree and i liked that you said in the end that the average silver player would lose this game and thats ok. It kinda sucks however that sett for example lost the game. He didnt really learn either because the gap was too big
Smurf content is kinda boring and can be kinda mean, honestly. But this is good, because sometimes your reasoning in a challenger game isn’t totally applicable to lower elo games. It will be cool to see you climb to masters in this account. Just don’t become one of those content creators that do “I did AP Garen mid and carried 1v9!!! CRAZY NEW BUILD” 😂
Hey shok, something I think a lot of people get wrong in these series is the account you're on isn't actually silver elo. new accounts like this are all paired up in the beginning so you get a bunch of other people that are smurfing, not challenger level but this most likely is closer to a plat level game. You can tell just by the Setts movement that he's not silver. I think a very very very interesting series would be if you got like a hardstuck silver account and tried to climb. This series just isn't realistic because by ur next 3 games you will be in diamond or close to it. You won't have to deal with people throwing on purpose, afk'ing, etc. I have been playing the game 9 years, 15 different accounts, and I can honestly say hardstuck silver is the hardest to climb out of in the game.
@@leahfiish Idk if you've been in Silver but most players there have good to decent lane mechanics. That Sett was honestly playing like Iron/low Bronze as if he had no idea what Ahri does. There was no gameplay adjustment or attempt at counterplay
Please don’t one trick to master so boring. Also please can you use this series to teach how to draft properly it’s something I really want to master since I’m good with a lot of champs and feel like it’s one of the most op ways to win more games . Cheers and good luck on the climb
i generally enjoy your content. But i am unsubscribing. I can't stand Smurfs. If concepts can't be shown in a equal elo game versus ruining a game for 9 people, than the concept doesn't work. Thanks for all your prior content, i will no longer be watching.
I respect the decision, these concepts can be shown in high elo (and I've done so many times) but I think this series can be a good way to dispel the illusion that the same concepts don't work in low elo.

I'll try get some asol gameplay!
very good video man thanks for your content you're very good to explain and always chill! 100%
Great vid, I’d love to just see more ahri
I personally love watching Smurf content, but I don’t want you to force yourself into anything you don’t enjoy. I love all your videos for the big brain knowledge 🧠🧠
This is extremely helpful! Would you consider playing a different champion each game, so as many people as possible can learn specific tips for their champion in low elo (I’m a silver Azir main)?
I'll try play as many unique champions as possible!
Could you show how you play against some counterpicks/hard matchups? Not saying that Sett is an easy one, but it's not something you see very often mid.
Can I be honest with you? I know that people request this type of content a lot, but I really think:
A) It's of no value to the person watching it (at least not in the way they think it is)
B) It creates a very negative toxic experience in the rank you are smurfing at.
Let me explain:
A) The thing is that your mental stack is way different from that of a player in the elo you are playing at, which is what allows you to dominate the game, the person watching this doesn't have this mental stack.
In fact because you are winning so easily it's harder to notice what you are doing correctly, unlike where you struggle a bit vs your lane opponent at your own rank
B) As someone currently in Emerald I cannot describe to you how bad it feels to get wrecked by someone surfing.
Aka Be the change you want to see around you and all that zen stuff :D
People that have these grand delusions about themselves are not really the people that want to improve IMO.
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful
Helpfull as always!
Great video! I'd love to see some Vex gaming in this series. :)
What was the thought process behind not building Mejia's when you hit 10 stacks on your ring?
Definitely coulda bought it and normally do on Ahri, here I was thinking because my bounty is so high they are gonna want to invest everything into killing me and if I die + give mejai stacks the game could be hard
MY OCE GOAT
Hi Shok Just wondering if you ever going to pursue a modelling career? You have quality Features i think suited for a better career path P.S When can i expect that $20?
LMAO

New series! Hype!
Great video! Can anyone suggest content like this for other roles?
Coach cupcake and stunt are the only people I know of for support content
@@ShokLeague thank you very much for your answer! I will check them out :)
can u pls make a video on how to play against ahri.
The TH-cam content man
Love the content, I prefer the higher elo games but this type of vid is great too. Maybe a yone game in the future?
another banger 🔥🔥
could you do a video on taliyah in midlane?
As Zoe I always have my Ult. So I can fight forever.
actually good educational video thank you so much. Deserves a subscribe and a like. play more ahri please
Ahri games coming soon!
Can you please stress midlane fundamentals to surely snowball kind of like Alois does. Also waiting for your high diamond low masters content!
if you are at 10 dark seal stacks and fed, why not buy mejai's?, is it not worth it the risk or gold?
i guess he didnt cause a silver player shouldnt until he kinda masters the not sucked into bad fights part. He played most of this game with no risk taking at all when at times he knew he can.
It was dor educational purposes is what im saying.
Normally you should on Ahri, I was thinking this game I'm the only fed member and have a huge bounty so they will really want to kill me and I don't want to give over both mejais and shutdown at the same time because that could make the game hard.
i saw you on a mr bruv slideshow lol
i really enjoyed this video
Very educational video!
Love it!!
talon and jayce will be fun in low elo
Can you play a melee champion next episode? Like sylas, akali or yone, it would be very helpful for me.
Such a quality
do you never have any reservations about playing in low elo as a masters+ player?
Hug to the ward until the jungler shows on the vision, then you can move away from it
WOOOW ! First impressions on me ! Your fundmentals videos are still bookmarked on my tabs i watched midlane fundmentals one hour and 14 minutes video and some more but not finished your 21 video on midlane fundementals ! Low elo tierlist coming soon!
Feels bad 9 players had 0 impact on who won, just npcs.
Personally I enjoy you high elo stuff much more
Those Garen dodges are not low-elo must be smurfing too.
Meanwhile my bot lane is 0:10 and my jungler inted 2 times :D
I play a lot of ahri, and have been confused about something. At 3:49 in-game you get 40 gold. I get that same thing randomly every game and I don't know what it's from. Do you know?
He farmed a cannon and a couple of ranged minions at that moment
@@AmokBR not true. If you watch at 3:49 you can see there’s not a cannon on the screen, and he gets +40 gold in between farming creeps. This happens to me once or twice a game, and it’s not from minions
Triple Tonic rune
At level 3, gain an Elixir of Avarice.
Elixir of Avarice: On use, gain 5 true damage on-hit against minions for 60 seconds. At the end of this effect, gain 40 gold.
@@8sense8 Makes sense, but I don’t think he’s using that rune
EDIT: Oh no, yeah, he is, nice catch
This is the elixir from triple tonic!
Not a fan of smurf content to be honest. Maybe if you had some kind of a handicap like only locking in champs you don't usually play or going to another server for higher ping.
He is a former pro he has probably played all midlaners
Idk he was learning Irelia on stream recently@@Krimo
I did try higher ping content before but people weren't really interested. I could do locking in champs I don't normally play, but then I'll get lots of backseating comments OR people having their delusions proved correct because a challenger player is losing in lower elo. imo just better to do it like this
Try playing with a top every game who goes 0-12 to a tahem.... show irl scenarios where u normally lose this is 1 out of 20 games that goes good
Shok gets better teams thats why he climbs smh
Can you do azir next please next video xd
Im currently trying to get out of bronze. I've noticed even if we have a lot of winning lanes the games last for a very long time. I try to make baron calls around the 20 minute mark but my team does not want to follow. Anyway to make games that should last 20 minutes actually last 20 minutes? Lol
Nah if your team doesn't listen to the best thing you can do is just keep farming/taking fights etc. Kinda unfortunate but there isn't much you can do if they don't follow
@@ShokLeague Ah okay. Thanks for the reply
I remember u saying many times that u generally dont like smurfing and u kinda explained it in the beginning, but what about 1 video = 1 fundamental stuff? I think it would be pretty unique and still along with what u usually make content about
Yeah I thought about doing that but I thought it might be too hard to focus on the rest of the game while it's happening, maybe I'll try it tho
Bro noone is taking flexq serious
@@ousmane15 none is taking soloq serious either, it seems, as it worse than normals
Classic:
- playing asol
- winning my lane
- roaming my as off trying to get our team ahead
- a few to zero deaths myself
- yet they're busy coinflipping and dying to number disadvantages
- 20 minutes into the game
- we're still ahead, but the team is constantly throwing the lead and refusing to take towers/barons or even group up
- it went to the late game
- ace after aces, we could end it like 10 times already but we didn't
- the opponents somehow still willing to win
- they manage to ace us once and barely end the game
- that's it, my teammates now are tilted to the abyss
- one bad teamfight and we lose
In the scenario where all the lanes behind, they simply lose the will, start straight up inting, and it's autodefeat...
Veigar pls😊
Hype 😩😩
LeBlanc smurfing would be awesome
do this in a hardstuck silver or bronze game the mmr is diff then a fresh account
I feel like that’s pointless, more bronze or silver games is boring and not that informative
@@JaronPalone very informative for those thats hard stuck, if ur not hardstuck this does not apply to u bud.
Lets go!!!!
o7 to enemy team
Please Assassins only ❤
Let’s go!!
Pllllllzzz do annniiieee
I have been playing the game 9 years, 15 different accounts, and I can honestly say hardstuck silver is the hardest to climb out of in the game.
what movement makes you think the sett isn't silver?
@@leahfiish Idk if you've been in Silver but most players there have good to decent lane mechanics. That Sett was honestly playing like Iron/low Bronze as if he had no idea what Ahri does. There was no gameplay adjustment or attempt at counterplay
@@9rays0n you are delu af
@@9rays0n dude his spacing in lane and the way he moves his character is clearly not a silver player
@@monsoncole Are you agreeing with me?
nice job ruining silver games!

Please don’t one trick to master so boring. Also please can you use this series to teach how to draft properly it’s something I really want to master since I’m good with a lot of champs and feel like it’s one of the most op ways to win more games . Cheers and good luck on the climb
I have a video on drafting from last year called how to not lose in champ select or something like that
Smurfing! shok changed smh!

League of legends for dummies book
easy money
Not a bad idea tbh
i generally enjoy your content.
Unranked to master on Ahri please 🙏
keep up the good work, it helps a lot
