I have heard of Spica before but never checked them out.
I liked this. Reminds me a bit of early Mamamoo. It was the jazzy/bluesy style that made me fall for them so I enjoyed seeing it here with Spica.
Might have to check out some more stuff from them.

SPICA !!! They deserved so much better. They were one of the many GGs that debuted back in 2012, 2012 was a great year to be a GG stan because so many cool GGs debuted but sadly really only EXID and AOA really made it big, Spica did somewhat well, they were nominated for best new female artist at the MAMAs, they had a top 10 hit, they released like 5 singles in 2012 but went to only have one comeback a year before taking a break and then disbanding. They all have some good pre-debut work, Bohyung their lead vocalist was a trainee under YG at the same time as 2NE1, Jiwon was part of T-Ara but left before they debuted in 2009, Na Rae was a contest on music competition show, Boa also was a "vocal coach" for certain artists or atleast recorded the demo's for them to sing and then their rapper Sihyun did a few features before she debuted in the group. I think the issue was they took such a long break after this song was released and randomly made their "english debut" with a song called "I Did It" and while yes it's cool to see a group this talented start releasing original english songs they probably should've focused more on Korean promotions and made a more solid fanbase. Their 2 main vocalists are currently a duo right now called Keembo, they have released a few songs so far. I know Jiwon went on one of those Idol rebooting shows and she won 6th place out of 9 and entered the group they made from it called Uni.T, so that was nice for her. They disbanded in 2017 but did have a reunion stage where they performed this song and their other song Tonight (which was their top 10 hit) so even they aren't together anymore it's nice seeing them still have a strong bond.
They never really had a group concept except great group vocals, I mean when your rapper can sing and hold their own against the others you know you got a talented group. They did like 3 retro concepts, some uptempo/midtempo ballads and then their debut song Russian Roulette which was a pretty cool I guess girl crush concept more or less.
I highly recommend Painkiller (my favorite because Boa and Bohyung kill on the vocals especially on the outro), Tonight and I'll Be There (the under appreciated jem in my opinion).
its sad when great groups get lost in the mix and fall apart because of mismanagement... i do love EXID tho, i found them early in my kpop journey and fell for them... i like a few aoa songs, i mainly know them from Queendom tho and i know they had issues with jimin allegedly being a bully which basically led to a disband...
I personally like the language barrier in the music... its one of the main reason i got attracted to music in foreign languages.. a lot of the time if you understand the lyrics its hard to feel the song for more than what it is, and if the story doesnt apply to you then it makes it even harder to enjoy... i find when i dont know what its about, it allows me to just make the song mean whatever it makes me feel like when i listen to it.
@@BestFriendsReact i agree on the language thing, also it's pleasing to hear, I think Korean language sounds great, I like how the words/consonants flow especially for rap parts
Loved SPICA (brightest Star in the constellation Virgo) so sad that they never got going You have to check out "Tonight" from them.. they came about at a time when kpop didn't appreciate vocals. I would recommend Kim Boa's (the blond) collaboration with Eric Nam , cover of "Say something." in fact all the solo and collaborations of the members are exquisite. especially KIM BO HYUNG. also KEEMBO the duo of Kim Boa and Kim Bo Hyung.
One of the best vocal groups to come out of kpop.

I've heard about spica thru kpop comps but not a full song and I didnt know they went back 9 years but damn they sounded GOOD. Maybe a bit like big mama with the belts, def a diff sound. I liked the selection and hope you pick out another song to get a range of their styles. Great reaction.👍👍👍
Thanks! the new edits are a lot of fun, i think it will be a good way to keep both myself and the audience more engaged and hopefully over time ill keep getting better at it.. either way its a lot of fun and it makes me more proud of our videos, and sets us apart a lil bit from other reaction channels. Loved your reactions! More Spica to enjoy: Russian Roulette, Painkiller (my personal fave), Ghost, Tonight, Lonely and I Did It (fully English song). They make ears happy. The duo consisting of Boa and Bohyung called Keembo had a comeback release around three months ago, called Whatever - it also sounds great! FYI Boa was the blonde from You Don't Love Me.

Wow, never thought you guys would be reacting to Spica, it's not a well known group. I don't really know much about them but I'll try to help:
They officially disbanded in 2017.
You Don't Love Me is their most known song.
The blonde girl with powerful vocals is Kim Boah, before becoming a girlgroup member she was a vocal trainer for kpop idols (I remember she trained KARA and Rainbow members), so yeah, that explains her vocals.
Boah and another former member of Spica (Bohyung) are now a duo called KEEMBO.
I discovered them by watching The UNIT, which was a survival tv show that formed two groups of nine members each (one boygroup and one girlgroup), among idols who had already debuted and weren't able to get the public attention.
Jiwon, a SPICA member participated and debuted with the final girlgroup (UNI.T). The tv show is really good but sadly it didn't got the attention it deserved, so both the girlgroup and the boygroup weren't able to be successful so their careers were short-lived (despite having awesome songs). If I'm correct, you can watch the entire show officially through TH-cam.
Ok, getting back to SPICA, although their discography is small, I only know two more songs by them, Tonight and Secret Time (their last song before disband). They're both great and different from You Don't Love Me.
