Take no notice of those who say it's crap. Clearly not following instructions. It definitely benefits from a firmer application of the smoothing trowel than shown. Mine is solid as a rock.

How is it now though, does it last?! Has it turned green?

@tomr200199 treat your patio with sodium hypochlorite to keep the green away

Good suggestion about using modelling clay at the end of the joint

How do you grout slabs on steps that are slightly sticking out, please ? The grout is very thin n just goes down via the gap. Thank you

Flow point or sand and cement
These resin compounds do not stand the test of time or weather.
    For the DIYer not professional

Unfortunately there are plenty of cowboys working around london
I had a paving done with slabs not done properly , unleavened floor , edges not done properly so I had to do it again second time same crap
    Finishes a mess .
    just get professional people guys
    ( I thought both contractors were ! )
How can you tell ? Is the question
Paid £2400 first time and £1800 second time 39 square metres .

I am a professional n I would charge £4000 for 40 square meters, including all the materials apart from the slabs or tiles of your choice. Living in London is not expensive it's totally overpriced. So anyone under £3000 is a risk

How can I make my own diy version of this, and why does this not stain these slabs?

Looks like it's silica sand with pigment and air cured resin

Worst stuff ever soaks up all the crap and algae like a sponge… looks good for about 6 months then look at it after that . Best is mixed mortar it’s messy and time consuming but it lasts.
