I've just repointed my old concrete paved patio using this in very hot dry weather. I looked at most reviews on TH-cam and was surprised by how many said it hadn't set. I'm not going to criticize those people as that was their experience. All I can say is it worked brilliantly for me and I followed the instructions to the letter. Three things, this is not a brush-in, wet and forget mix, you have to get down on your knees and tamp it down with a suitable tool, this is essential. Also, to state the bleeding obvious, if like me, you have much wider & deeper gaps the stated coverage of 20sqM will be way off. My patio was 30sqM with gaps averaging 15-20mm and up to 30mm deep. This took 3 tubs exactly. Lastly, I checked the next morning and was worried as it really hadn't begun to set, the next morning it had started, and by day 3 was rock solid.

About 8rs ago I used this stuff for a small patio after grouting a larger patio with conventional grout. The sika hasn't budged but the larger patio is due for it's 3rd grout. I've just ordered 4 tubs to do it but it's not cheap.

so this is just sand that will get blasted out when I use a pressure washer on my patio?

Would it be wise to put some sand or something in deepish joints as my joints are quite deep.

When does the colour come thorough. I bought 5 boxes of Deep Grey, it's been down for 2 days and still looks Sandy Brown.

It needs water to start curing, spray it with a light mist after pointing and will harden when it dries out.

    Hi Nice video.
Want to use thus but gave been told that it's permeable and so slabs should gave been laud on a full bed of 6 - 1 ratio sand and cement to allow water to drain through. If harder mix like 4 -1 can cause water to freeze in joints etc. Is my 4 -1 bedding mix Ok to use this product. Thank you

Ok, we had that used on our patio and while it was getting done I did not think the installer was pressing it in enough. In this video the installer is barely putting any pressure on it as well. Anyway moss and grass started growing in it withing a year of installation and now, 3.5 years later, I have washed it out in places while pressure washing the patio with a fairly weak washer. Does it sound like it was incorrectly installed? I'm only asking because I am going to dig it our and replace it with a similar product and I don't want to waste my time if it was installed correctly and what I described is just what happens with it.

Not happy with the result. Followed the instruction, but it looked like it's too dry to set and it is. It's loose like sand. It's not at at all. Wouldn't recommend it. Going to Wickes tomorrow to ask for a refund. Very annoyed.

  • @mv4ago

Great product but the instructions could be better. Soak everything with water before filling the joints, pack it down tightly then soak it again. If you use it dry it won't set.
