The Inspiron 3847 I own used to have a Pentium G3240, only 4GB RAM, Western Digital 1TB WD10EZEX-75M2NA0 HDD and stock intel graphics. I’ve recently upgraded the PC to an Intel Core i5-4670K CPU, 256GB SSD, Seagate ST1000DM010 1TB used now for external storage. and an ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 Graphics card and 16GB of ram!
I have the 660 version, and cannot spot the difference. I wish that I could’ve purchased one more instead of a pair of Optiplex 3020. I have had tons of fun with loading it up with HDDs to upping the PSU and GPU. If they’re anything like the Optiplex 3020 it’s a decent project for an iTX or mATX motherboard swap. The bonus is that the side panel on these can accommodate a 120mm fan.
Just found one of these for $33 shipped with a $10 rebate. Going to replace/add CPU, psu, ram, hdd and SSD, GPU and some fans. I might even do a case swap, just keeping the mobo and windows OS
Ditto - made same mistake - just another ho-hum Dell unit - who needs another Win 10 garbage bucket... Dual booted Windows 7 Pro to save the deal from being a total disaster... Win 10 is just Win8 on Negative steroids... The KISS principle was totally ignored by the Gates gang on this attempt for milking the cash cow... Long live Linux... Cinnamon Mint is one of the best to dual boot with Win 7 if you want some real security from virus infestation and such trash... Try it - you''ll like it...
Almost 4 yrs later and this is the same model I'm still using. Mine has the core I3. I swapped my hard drive for an SSD and have 16 GB of ram.
Do you know where the stockgraphics card is located?
i fond someone on facebook who is selling the same model minus the 1tb hdd 500gb for $65 cant decide if its worth it
