I honestly think that it's the charater design that gives off Hollow Knight (The horn, the cape, and all)... But all in all the game looks like a blast and the environment (and the art itself) looks stunning.
This looks amazing, I'm so curious about all the moral decisions that will effect story and the world! Dont think a metroidvania has gotten me this excited since aria of sorrow got a sequel!

I think the thing is jsut that it’s hand drawn as the devs for hk say Indie devs don’t have the budget of triple A so off they usually go with more stylised looks like pixel art or drawn

having played the steam demo, the new ground slash/air neutral makes for some very expressive and fun combat! unfortunately the vertical slashes still feel frustratingly small, making pogoing in particular annoyingly precise. as for the combat rooms, they're a lot of fun, but probably harder than the boss fights!

i can see the similarities between hollow knight and your game, yes the old combat was very much just the knight's nail, the rework makes it unique and well thought while keeping this aspect that you first had, the pogoing is just a good mechanic for gameplay be hollow knight or not so i can't exactly blame you the health is also very similar and the backgrounds are (i would guess) an inspiration from it, too, but apart from that the whole game is unique in itself and it actually looks very cool. a thing i noticed that mildly bothered me is the main ground transition from having rocks to then just a line of pitchblack without a transition or more of no shading effect, a good depiction of what i am trying to say can be seen at 7:19 where under the main character is just a straight line of black which is... bothering and on the right you can see what i'd call a good shading transition (probably due to lighting effect) i'll be playing the demo to see how this plays and may edit this in the future but for now i'd give this a solid 8/10

I was hesitant to decide on if I think your game is appealing or not at first. Some backgrounds and enemies have really weird color choices and one grey background felt really empty and blank to the point of affecting my immersion. Sometimes the colors on screen are just all over the place and don't mesh together. Other times however! It is so beautiful and pretty and just perfect! Love your spin on combat and the gameplay generally seems like I'd be having fun with it. What gave me the final push to convince me of your quality is that you have a steam page and a free demo. Basically I'm a fan now. Imma do an alternative timeline comment that's just a tldr of this.

I‘m handling the development alone after all.. first thing english is my second language so forgive me my bad spelling i try some of the demo and i have some things to say its a good art stile but there's some game Troubles in the game mechanics like there is no damage resistance after got hit from a mob and the controls is not variable and does not count mouse save points are nice and i thinc its bett er to change the doors because its bad looking thanks for the experianse i hope you take it positive good art

I don't want this to be a hate comment so it's not a hate comment. Your example of peoples saying hollow knight is a shovel knight copy is bad because the character in shovel knight doesn't look like the one in hollow knitgh, the effects are not the same and the mechanics are not the same. But yours is alot like hollow knight, the character is the same except for the face the weapon and it has a tail, the effects of attacks are the same, the mechanics of attacking spikes and bouncing off of them is the same so yeah. it's not a problem for me it's playing a dlc of a game i like but for other peoples thay're lik "IT'S THE SAME AS HOLLOW KNIGHT WHY SHOULD I PLAY IT IF I HAVE HOLLOW KNIGHT ?" And i hate peoples that are dumb like that, they should play it because it's the same game they like but with a different story and because it's a different game but most peoples that play games just don't care about the sories of games.(first time i write a whole bible. I'm so proud of myself 😂)
