    Lee Chong Wei Badminton Racket History in 3 minutes 😮 | Last racket will shock you😱
    Commentary in TH-cam Video:
    In 2006, Lee Chong Wei switched to the Yonex Nanospeed 9000. This racket was even lighter and faster than the Muscle Power 88, and it helped Lee Chong Wei to reach new heights in his career. He won the World Championships in 2007 and 2009 with this racket.
    In 2007, Lee Chong Wei also started using the Yonex Armortec 900 Power. This racket was designed for power and control, and it helped Lee Chong Wei to become a more complete player.
    In 2009, Lee Chong Wei switched to the Yonex Arcsaber Z Slash. This racket was a hybrid racket, which means that it combined the strengths of both attacking and defensive rackets.
    In 2010, Yonex Voltric 80 was a hugely popular racket used by players such as Peter Gade, Mathias Boe, and of course, Lee Chong Wei. He continued to use it in the iconic 2011 World Championships finals against Lin Dan, but unfortunately, he lost the match.
    In 2012, he switched to the Yonex Voltric Z Force. This racket was even more powerful than the Arcsaber Z Slash, and it helped Lee Chong Wei to reach the top of the world rankings.
    In 2014, Lee Chong Wei released his own signature racket, the Yonex Voltric Z Force II LCW Edition. This racket was a modified version of the Voltric Z Force, and it was designed specifically for Lee Chong Wei's playing style. Lee Chong Wei used the Voltric Z Force II LCW Edition until 2015.
    In 2016, he switched to the Yonex Duora 10. This racket was another hybrid racket, and it was designed to give Lee the best of both worlds in terms of power and control. The Duora 10 became one of the most popular rackets of all time, and it helped him win his second Asian Championships title in 2016.
    In 2019, Lee Chong Wei retired from badminton because of nose cancer. Yonex made him a limited edition Yonex Astrox 99 to honor Lee’s lasting impact on the game of badminton and his legacy. If you want to know more about his latest appearance after retirement, please check the link in the description below.
    Lee Chong Wei last racket after retirement is Yonex Astrox 99 LCW Edition.

    I have this friend from the Badminton Association of Malaysia, and he's in charge of designing rackets for LCW. He spilled the beans that LCW's racket is custom-made, and Yonex just paints it to promote specific model. How does he know? Well, he's the guy who wrote all the specs documentation for Yonex.

    • @CrimsonCruizer
      @CrimsonCruizer ปีที่แล้ว +27

      well, you're right, most of the top athletes rackets are custom made and repainted to promote certain models. it's no secret to the badminton world. for example, hendra and ahsan didn't even know what models they used, they're given the rackets as they requested and the company will paint it to promote whatever models they want to promote. not to mentions some years ago ahsan even used arcsaber FB which was only 73 grams in weight and not even head heavy, even to beginners that racket is super light, there's no way a top athlete who is known for his power play was using that racket to compete in the world stage, it doesn't make any sense.

    • @AgentJ2007
      @AgentJ2007 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      It is, most of the top athletes have their racket custom made. I got hold of Chen Long’s old racket, a custom made version of 3D caliber 900 specially for Chen Long. I compare it to the the 3D caliber 900 which I bought from a li Ning concept store in malaysia. Lo and behold, there were distinct differences which casual fan would miss. The shaft of the custom made was longer and the frame was millimeters wider. Furthermore, there was a 🇨🇳 flag imbedded on the top of the handle. Furthermore, i did a precision scan on both rackets. The weight was different. That’s how I know the top athletes have custom made and the version which a consumer can buy from the store is a completely different racket to the one used by the athletes.

Jawapannya hanya lindan, org lain takkan menang atau takkan masuk final, yg masuk final pasti lcw dan lindan. Zaman lcw dan adalah zaman golden era player china, semua player china kuat nak mampus. Sekarang dah tak sangat dah, player malaysia dah boleh kalahkan player china dan indonesia. Zaman taufik mana ada opponent yg sekuat zaman lindan, sebab tu dia boleh menang tournament besar. Aku yakin 100 percent kalau prime taufik berada di zaman sama dgn lcw dan lindan dia takkan menang olimpik dan piala dunia badminton. Older generation players rely on skills, but today's players including LCW are aided by technology in the racquet design. Can LCW win with the old fashion wooden racquet as used by Tan Aik Huang or Punch Gunalan or Rudy Hartono?

      He forgot 80-20 rule. Just need to focus on key tournaments and not just keep playing all kinds of tournaments to gain points to be no.1 in ranking. How can he be a GOAT if he never win Olympic Gold, World Championship and Asian Games Gold?
      Lin Dan is more selective and he shines in major tournaments.

    Wrong, he used the Armortec 900 Technique and Power in 2008 and 2009, at some point in 09 switched to the Power. Certainly before and during the AE 2008 it was the Technique 3U: I talked with him at an exhibition in Leicester just before, it was the same racket i was using or very nearly (I had the 4U), and if you watch the match with Taufik, you can see clearly.
    The Technique is one of my all time favourite rackets, the best i ever played was with this one. When i moved on to the Voltric Z force II 3U, it was only because i'm hard on rackets and they weren't making it anymore. The Voltric was more powerful, and super- accurate, both the 3U and 4U, and in fairness it probably suited me more, but it was also very unforgiving. On a bad day, it wasn't fun. But the Technique had such smooth feel and it was lush around the net.
    Last racket i played with is the Astrox 99 Pro. I think it is better than the technique, but i have ligament damage in my shoulder now, so i never could play to my potential with it. It is the best racket i've ever experienced for drop shots and net play, but i can't really smash anymore. So yes, it took 10 years for them to really improve on the Technique IMO.

    • @bennylava8717
      @bennylava8717 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ditto, armortec 900 T is still my all time favorite too. I also bought a JP version of it too, with GUMMY METAL (actually armortec 800 defensive, olive color, but it i broke it when my partner back into me when i swung the racket, breaking his nose and my AT800D. The AT900T plays similar and constructed sturdier). My close second is the nanospeed 9900. I just bought a nanoflare 800 Pro gonna give it a try

    • @bennylava8717
      @bennylava8717 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i have not tried astroc 99, is it close to the all time classic armortec 700 used by lin dan? i have a friend who wore out all his armortec 700 and looking for equivalent replacement

    • @meandermyself61
      @meandermyself61 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bennylava8717 My bro had a 700 - he never changed it, i never tried it. But I suspect of the modern rackets, it's the lineal successor of the Armortec Technique rather than the 700. But it has more power than the Tec or the Power version. I have both the 3u and 4u versions of the Astrox 99 Pro, they are very different. The 3U is much superior, the 4U tries to get the same feel weight by making the 4U balance super head-heavy. Dry swinging it feels nice but it feels off hitting a shuttle. 3U is buttery-smooth swing as long as you don't tense up it hits hard and very accurate. Big enough sweet spot. Some people find it heavy/hard work, even pros.Best dropshots ever, and smashes get this kind of harmonic snap from the top of the frame that gives a bit more zip. And that's something LD liked, you might remember him using lead tape on the top of the frame when he was forced to play with LiNing.

    • @meandermyself61
      @meandermyself61 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bennylava8717 Ouch, that racket clash sounds like the least optimal outcome! I played with Nanospeeds 7000, 8000 and 9000 back in 2006 ish - believed the hype, and it ruined my technique. Headlight rackets are shit. Went back to head heavy with the At 900 Tec and Power 4U when they came out, liked everything about them, especially the aesthetics.
      I used to have one of each, and it took me a while to decide that the Technique was a better fit. The 800 Offensive was great too. Back then i wanted the 3u Tec but it wasn't available in the UK. God it suited me.
