Haters comments can say all you want. I have been a Malaysian badminton followers for almost 50 years. I have watched winners like Tan Aik Huang, Punch Gunlan, Tan Aik Mong ( Aik Huang brother), James Selvaraj, Sylvia Ng (lady Single player), Ong Yew Hock, Foo Kok Keong, Misbun Sidek, Lee Chong Wei, however, Lee Zii Jia is different from the rest. Most of current opponents fear of playing against LZJ because of his thunderous smashes. Lee Zii Jia has talents like "Super" Lin Dan, Yang Yang and Zhao Jian Hua of China. Coming June & July 2024, once Lee Zii Zia win the Olympic Gold medal 🏅 in Paris 2024, surely all will be forgotten. All the best LZJ, even you lose a match, you are still my Champion of all Badminton 🏸 players in the world.
If the sport was called smashminton he would do well but unfortunately its badminton it takes more then a thunderous smash to be great. LZJ lacks in a lot of areas & age is also againts him as he is not that young anymore.

I think it's really hard to grow your career if people always go and compared you to a retired legend. They watch how LZJ plays but always thinking about LCW and thats a burden for LZJ.
People say he shouldn’t be arrogant but i think that is what lacking. He need that arrogance and aggressiveness, that contributes to the flair and player style that he possesses. The semi final in olympic, he seem cold I think because of the criticism. I don’t mind the arrogance as long as he is backing it up. Let’s go Lee!
Some haters are just stupid to expect LZJ to become LCW 2.0. No, LZJ has his own style of playing. But with the pressure, plus messed up management in association, he just lost his focus on game. Thats suck. Anyway, I wish him all the best in Olympic.
I have been with LZJ since he was in the BAM and when he make a decision to leave BAM i hava a bad feeling about it..but i still rooting for him...i seen him played at it's best and that frustrated me to see the current LZJ right now..i hope he can raise up and become Champion again...💪💪💪💪💪
Hope to see him coming back stronger with the old days’ fighting spirits which we used to love. As for the current state, I think he is still unable to let go something that deep down in his heart. Hope he will able to find the true and real of himself ASAP.
Thank you for putting up this video. It just dawned on me the numerous come-backs he has successfully played and won the last few years. Sad that fans only remember his losses. Hoping he'll rise again to be the formidable player we all once knew. He has all the qualities including the arrogance(think Lin Dan)😊Fighting, Lee Zii Jia!
meh, if i were to describe him in one word, its def not overrated. cause despite losing in matches, his match will always be the most entertaining to watch in MS sector. so yeah, i would describe him as phenomenal.
You cant expect national athletes to shit gold all the time. Not in form and health issues are serious issues as an individual than winning for your country. I admire him..he done his best and will do best..
LZJ is the most prolific badminton star. He smashes like no other. To me, the most skillful player in the world is LZJ. He only need to control his mood.
This guy is my absolute favourite player and the main reason why I keep watching tournaments. Everytime a tournament ends, I look through all next ones to see if he's playing. The match against Axelsen in the all England 2021 actually made me cry of joy to see him play the absolute best badminton I'd ever seen. It's still my favourite match to rewatch. LCW used to be my favourite before his retirement, now it is LZJ. Not because they're from the same country but because both players have such a unique style. Everytimes he plays now, I'm really hoping to see the 2021 LZJ again. I thought it was happening in this year's all England but sadly not. However I will not lose faith and never will. This guy absolutely has the potential to be the number 1 of the world in his prime, with his inhumanly strong attack maybe even surpassing LCW at his prime. I keep my fingers crossed everytime he plays now. If by any chance he himself is reading this: you are my inspiration. Please never give up and don't let yourself get dragged down by others. There will always be plenty of people who believe in you and I sure am one of them. You inspire me to become a better player and play like you one day. I'm currently recovering from an ACL reconstruction but I plan on coming back stronger. Much love from Belgium. I hope to meet you one day.
Thank you with all your encouragement and kind words. I hope other bad/attacking comments towards LZJ can see what you have written here. I do agree with you even you came for different country who gave so much faith and support to our player LZJ. Why not other supporters in malaysia can’t do so?? 😢
Well he's back, winning the 2024 Thailand Open against Angus Ng and going 3 sets against Axelsen in the final of the Malaysia Masters despite cramps from the quarter finals
@@constancecho418 I disagree, as a Malaysian I support him & enjoy watching him playing on the court. He brought back my interest of watching badminton games, especially when our players are reaching semi finals or finals! LZJ, keep it up & you always have our supports ❤❤
Yes, he hvae alot patterns and every match is very enjoying..He let go and play at his very best .. Sad to see a own Malaysian tried to create hater comments and no support him . Campate...
Not everyone is as lucky as Lee Chong wei that got all the resources to help him get fame…Lee Chong wei is the richest athlete at his prime when government is putting all the resources on him during the time when najib was the prime minister…see how many sponsor Lee got and how many resources he got compared to zii jia…can’t blame zii jia finding another way to get rich at this era as not all people are Lee Chong wei right? All of us also want to drive fancy car, living luxurious life and financial freedom…so what’s wrong when youngster want to find another way in making money? Besides, I don’t think it’s bad decision for zii jia to pursue his career as professional player. There are at least two benefits I can state. One is to prevent injury as the training style zii jia atBAM NOT SUITABLE for him…we heard a lot of news zii jia has to retired due to injury…can I say that the training program set by BAM was having some problems? Second, our national team is only able to train one player to be at his best at a time due to financial problem…If u guys had followed budget Malaysia all along, you will see that government allocated how many money to sport division? In the end to support the BAM, how much fund can they get in the end? Zii jia leaving and now we got tze yong coming up now…look at the past, Lee using all the resources(not saying Lee is selfish) and BAM is lack of resources to train another pro athlete…every team competition only one top men’s single athlete can secure the point. Shame. In short, I don’t think his leaving is a bad decision, at least when he’s in the team fight he always perform great.
Hi, I'm an oldster and I agree with you on him turning to professionalism to control his own destiny. Many haters think leaving BAM is treason hahahaha, I've been watching tennis since the 1980s and in tennis basically all the players especially the Top 20 ranked players are professionals so it's definitely the norm. Badminton is now going that route, just look at the Denmark players. To me NTY stroke play is vulnerable when you don't have a strong physique and it looks like NTY cannot sustain a hard training regimen. I like Justin Hoh more.
All the drama aside, if we purely consider the technicalities, I honestly don’t think he’s a great player (I can already hear all the fans calling me a hater). But hear me out, while his strong attacks did earn him an early success, his play-style quickly gets analysed and countered soon. That’s why we never see him play like he did in All England again. And for a long time he seemed to be stagnant and unable to breakthrough his own obstacles. If we look at legends like Lin Dan or Lee Chong Wei, they’re very all-rounded versatile players, because badminton isn’t just one style fits all, you need to be strong in every aspect. And I think LZJ is still far from that, his skills just aren’t good enough, he still has a long way to go, a few wins here and there isn’t gonna make you great. Anyway, I say we stop putting him under the spotlight, if he loses, just let him be, failing is in itself a lesson. He’s just not as great as we’d hoped, just think of him as a regular player. We have to focus on something else, he doesn’t deserve all the attention, which is actually hindering his growth. Let go of your expectations, and he might just actually grow into something significant.
Focus on something? Like what, my own works. We talk about Olympic so what topic should we focus on these Olympic? Olympic cloths? Is it wrong to say appreciate for their works. If you have no interest in these don't need to see the video just so you can give a comment about it. You think LCW already a talented person when he first Olympic. People learn but they still can get support. Most Malaysians just give support from media they don't scream their obsessed like a kpop fans.
i agree. Putting expectations is very different from giving support. every sportsman needs room to grow their individual self. It is a pity that when the audience is putting pressure to compare the final results to past champions, it ruins the gameplay of the sport. Sports is fun to watch for the techniques and play style, not just obtain medals to compare with previous champions.
In another era, what LZJ has achieved would've earned him legendary status. But he, for better or worse, follows the legendary LCW and how do you beat that? I think that's the yardstick fans in Malaysia have been measuring him with. It's a tall act to replicate the next LCW. Perhaps BAM and fans alike need to recognise LCW is a once-in-a-generation talent whom you can't take for granted. Not everyone is going to be the next LCW. ZJ is his own man and player.
His biggest problem is not his shit attitude, Lin Dan has shit attitude as well. His main issue is that he is lacking technically. His early successes are possible only because he managed to compensate his inadequacies with simple yet effective attacking plays . But as more players analysed his game, they are able to counter him, forcing him to play a more balanced game with longer rallies. That’s when all his weaknesses and lack of variation became apparent. Ng Tze Yong is actually more accomplished than him technically, of course TZ has other problems now.
@@fth2780he means that NTY is technically better that like to play rally and don't make mistakes often unlike LZJ that focus on attacking it would be bad for LZJ is the rally progress...if he played a player like Kodai or momota it would be unfavorable...
Still amazes me why does BAM still using indon coaches. The lack of tactical intelegent destroys Malaysian talents. Just because Hendrawan was coaching LCW doesn't make him a great coach! and they kick out Jeremy and hire that javanese indon as a head coach 😂
NTY is just a propped up boy by BAM to save face, he's no where near LZJ's level with H2H between the two being very obvious and he will never overtake LZJ convincingly until LZJ's retirement. A few wonder wins over higher ranking players by NTY was all because of new found confidence and at the same time his opponents were unfamiliar with him, exactly just like how LZJ started. . Once NTY is fully studied by his opponents in the long run, he'll not sustain his prowess and will slowly fade away. It takes real attitude and overall mental & physical strength to be Champion and NTY does not have all that. LZJ 2023's failures were part of the maturing process for all badminton players, even LCW gone through such shitty period. This is how players matures and once they've crossed this mid term hurdle, they will have better and more stable performances, and with enough luck they'll go on to be top and legendary players. Just look at Viktor Axelsen these days, he went through he same shitty period like LZJ during LCW's era, survived and go on to win big things. LZJ is now surviving all these and will soon emerge to achieve great things as well. TRUST THE PROCESS. . All great winners have shitty attitude. It's that shitty attitude that makes opponents crumbles. This is why Lin Dan is the real winner and LCW is not. LCW is legendary not because he is a winner. LCW sustained being world no.1 for the longest time only proved that he was a workhorse that participated in almost all available tournaments of his time. A workhorse is not a winner, Olympic + Thomas Cup + All-England is the winner and that is Lin Dan. LZJ is going Lin Dan & Chen Long's way. .
Ng tze Yong better player? What a joke, he’s only there because BAM needed someone to compare to LZJ in an attempt to put him down, having Lee Chong wei give his racket to NTY and all that fiasco was a PR stunt, NTY will never reach the level of LZJ let’s be honest
He's just a player with all the potential to be greater than LCW, but decided to go for short-term fame instead of long-term badminton glory because of his arrogant and cocky attitude. At age 26, he should be at the prime of his game. Yet LZJ is still struggling with first/second round knockout. Definitely not overrated, just a wasted talent.
In all honesty, every badminton player will have a story to tell. LZJ however lacks humility. He wins a long rally and dances, instead of reflecting as too why he had to play so hard to earn that one point. Sure, he does that to boost confident and mentally shake his opponent, but his inconsistent performance doesn't allow him to do so. He first needs to reflect on his character humility and humbleness.
Surely but imagine all the hate and being bashed through out of your career, i felt all of his screams of victory is his pride as a player that he can WIN as an individual and that he deserve to stand on the court
I do agree with some of the statements ur making, but it's also a good thing that he also shakes hands with his opponents, and maybe even congratulates them, instead of being prideful about it
@@igziswailenburg8082 a few winning cries are ok. Just don't dance. It shows arogance and no humility. People dont really like him because of his arrogance.
@@waterbottlethatalsolikesme1670 bruh even kevin shakes hand with his opponents, its already like a reflect to badminton players, but that dance is what backfires him, confident and cocky is 2 sides of the same coin. Doing this may get him lots of supporters, but at the same time haters. The fact that he can only win ss500 rn is not a good sign and stage for him to dance, for the past 15months he only won 2 smaller competitions and he lost in R1 10times in those 15months, the moment he wins 1 round or 2 he dances, just gave the haters more reason to bash him. If he wins a final against a tough opponent and dances, its cool af but not in R2 or QF. Even Marin got haters due to her loud shouting but she proves her capability by winning a gold in the olympics, moreover she's been quite consistent throughout her whole career, often reaching QF, SF or finals whenever she joins.
I donno, though I find him to be a good player but he lacks consistency and find him pretty arrogant at times and thus the complacency in his game. ( not to forget he's had a lot to go through though). I guess with so many distractions its very difficult to comcentrate on one's game.

Facts, they fact that they made NTY their poster boy the moment LZJ left BAM said it all, the PR stunt of having LCW come out and give his racket to NTY like it meant something😂 like he was his protégé trying to make LZJ feel bad about leaving BAM.
Those aunties and uncles who admire LCW may go to his page and dream about his past game... the aunties and uncles who wish to compare with their idol may go back and train their son hard, if not, pls shut up!
So much potential, but sometimes too much showboating or overconfidence. The only enemy for now, is only himself..if not, not impossible LZJ can be greater than LCW.
Lepas menang All England, kepalanya besar sikit.. lepas tu, nak cabut jadi Pro. Tau la, tu karier dia tapi belum stabil lagi nak pecut ke langit.. Hendrawan baru nak perkukuhkan dia, dia dah ada ego besar... lepas jadi pro, tak ngam dgn coach Wijaya sampai nak sue kat dia pulak.. lepas tu ego lagi tinggi lagi dia jadi coach sendiri, begitulah, performance terus menjunam. Sampai krg Tat Meng dah coach 10 bulan, tak dpt lihat dia pegi mana pun. BAM offer RTG, tak nak join mcm sampai nak telingkah dgn sesiapa saje kat BAM. LCW tegur tapi tak layan. Sini dp lihat betapa besar kepalanya. Bukan nak ckp apa, attitude dia mmg tak humble langsung tu punca segalanya. Bila menang, mcm dirasuk hantu celebrate, apa tu. Humble la sikit. Dia belum sampai level tak boleh kalah, nak celebrate pun, humble la sikit. U tgk mana2 champion ada gelagak mcm, tgk Kunlavut jadi world champ, ada mcm tu?.. Ginting & Jonathan pun best example - humble saje... tak pyh pegi jauh sgt nak compare.. kat Msia, LCW pun jarang celebrate sampai gila.. LCW mmg layak celebrate mcm mana pun, kan dia legend & tahap yg bukan semua blh capai. Yg si LZJ ni, teknikal tak kuat, hanya depend serangan skill saje, mmg tak blh pegi mana. Semua dah tau game dia, kalau dia asyik tak blh improve teknikal dia, ni mcm la.. asyik early rd exit.. Axlesen tu a complete player.. All England 2021 mcm satu fluke.... masa tu semua tak tau dia sgt...
Komen sini dibuat b4 All England. Kan skrg dah lepas All England... mcm mn? Swiss Open pun besok final... mcm mn si LZJ ni? Tak pyh ckp dulu2 punya performance, ckp la ni 2 tournament yg baru2 tamat. Adakah komen aku keterlaluan atau mmg jitu? Satu2 komenku tak jitu dia tak celebrate gila2 di dua tournament ni krn mn boleh dia celebrate asalkan dia masih tak lyk celebrate... game dia dah mmg BOSAN.
If he just stop showing stupid gestures and play the game without being a drama queen, maybe he will be a lot less hated. Potential is definitely there. The road to glory ain't easy at all, but on the way there, just be silent and let hard work and results show. All the arrogant actions are totally unnecessary if he was matured enough to control himself.
As always, Malaysian players basically have weak mentality. Skill & talent without strong mental fortitude means inconsistent performances. No wonder we only have a great total of 1 world champion so far. Things need to change in BAM. Nuff said.
It's normal in sports. If you've watched tennis then you've seen Federer, Nadal, Del Potro, Steffi Graf and others roaring after a good point. Nowadays the squash players do that too. In badminton Li Shi Feng of China has torn his shirt, done cartwheels on court after winning
LZJ needs only to concentrate on his game. His weakness is playing to the fans n "fangs" alike swaying his emotion thus upsetting his play on court. Be humble n modest even in defeat or victory
LZJ is the new generational talent Malaysia needed. Showed talent and very promising early on, but quickly lost focus to be instagram famous and doing ads & sponsorships instead. Head to head with top players were largely negative. Stats don’t lie. What a waste.
Like to give my two cents worth on LZH. Mention LZJ and it seems to be linked to controversy. You either like him or you don't. Funny it seems there is no middle ground. I strongly believe much of the controversy is of his own making. He just can't deal with the negative comments he gets on the social media and tends to respond rather strongly. It creates a vicious cycle of response that delights his detractors. He should realised by now that his haters loves to see him upset and will only encourage them to do more of the same. You think LCW don't get hate mail? The volume of hateful comments will simmer down if they don't get the response they expect. An even more crucial factor that l believe to be responsible for him being in this awkward position is the high expectations that is expected of him. Not only from others, but those from within himself. Realise that every player that ever had an outstanding career does not necessary follow the same pattern. Some have a journey like going up Mount Everest, slow and challenging but always up. Some have starts that break records but never really get to the top. Then there are those who stay under the radar but later in the journey eventually starts summiting the top regularly. Perhaps there too much, too soon expected of him from the badminton faculty and fan? Perhaps he himself started believing that he must explode of the blocks and instantly perform at the highest level day in day out? Ones career and performances is not rated at the beginning but at the end of it. Turn a deft ear to your detractors remarks, do not make unrealistic promises or try to fulfill other people's expectations Be satisfied and be at peace with what you have gotten so far. With the right mindset, patience and believe in your own capabilities, everything is possible.
Lee Zii Jia is definitely not overrated. Matter of fact, I believe he is underrated, he has made so many impactful games and plays such so that I believe he should have more recognition as one of the best players at the moment. (my opinion for those who are either gonna hate, call me names, or just don't agree at all)
How is he underrated? People don’t even talk as much about Axelsen than LZJ. I don’t even understand how he got all those recognition. All he won was 1x all England and people are crazy about him. There are less famous players who have won a lot more than him. He is not even top 50 in badminton history. If you don’t believe I can show you the list who have won a lot a lot more than him.
@@sittthwezaw854 first of all, he got his recognition because he was said to be Lee Chong Wei's replacement which made everybody curious about his skills, and he did not only win the all England, he also carried his team in the sudirman cup and also won the asia championships, but as mentioned before, it was only my opinion, you don't have to agree.

I disagree, as a Malaysian I support him & enjoy watching him playing on the court.
Campate...
I am sure he will come back stronger. Love and support from Nepal. 💪
Yes. Now I just realized his playstyle is very direct.
Bro support him..... he won the olympics, u think hes way better and ur bad right
Haters are everywhere. Know your strength and be discipline 💪. Focus in what you are doing matters most of the time.
My interest in badminton took another level because of LZ. To me he is like Tigerwood for golf, LZ for badminton. Unique style of badminton.
LZJ the kind of player who can beat anyone and follow it up by losing to a complete random

live love LZJ, he's just gold
Yes Live the continue round 32 exits 😊
His biggest problem is not his shit attitude, Lin Dan has shit attitude as well. His main issue is that he is lacking technically. His early successes are possible only because he managed to compensate his inadequacies with simple yet effective attacking plays . But as more players analysed his game, they are able to counter him, forcing him to play a more balanced game with longer rallies. That’s when all his weaknesses and lack of variation became apparent. Ng Tze Yong is actually more accomplished than him technically, of course TZ has other problems now.
Nty didn't win anything yet, why you think he's better than lzj ?
Win or lose, still enjoy his present on court
Bruh did someone see chao cursing Lee after loosing the semies?💀
at 8:03 right 🤣🤣
bro was jealous HAHAHA
He's just a player with all the potential to be greater than LCW, but decided to go for short-term fame instead of long-term badminton glory because of his arrogant and cocky attitude. At age 26, he should be at the prime of his game. Yet LZJ is still struggling with first/second round knockout. Definitely not overrated, just a wasted talent.
Tell him to retire 😂
@@ryk7778 well now he won bronze in olympic
Lee zii jia is so lucky to had parents who support him in his career😊

So much potential, but sometimes too much showboating or overconfidence. The only enemy for now, is only himself..if not, not impossible LZJ can be greater than LCW.

One thing that is definitely real, he's hot
aku rasa dia akan comeback sbb performance die untuk all england 2024 ni boleh tahan bagus
Player follow what is good for self is a new generation that many still dare not do
Lepas menang All England, kepalanya besar sikit.. lepas tu, nak cabut jadi Pro. Tau la, tu karier dia tapi belum stabil lagi nak pecut ke langit.. Hendrawan baru nak perkukuhkan dia, dia dah ada ego besar... lepas jadi pro, tak ngam dgn coach Wijaya sampai nak sue kat dia pulak.. lepas tu ego lagi tinggi lagi dia jadi coach sendiri, begitulah, performance terus menjunam. Sampai krg Tat Meng dah coach 10 bulan, tak dpt lihat dia pegi mana pun. BAM offer RTG, tak nak join mcm sampai nak telingkah dgn sesiapa saje kat BAM. LCW tegur tapi tak layan. Sini dp lihat betapa besar kepalanya. Bukan nak ckp apa, attitude dia mmg tak humble langsung tu punca segalanya. Bila menang, mcm dirasuk hantu celebrate, apa tu. Humble la sikit. Dia belum sampai level tak boleh kalah, nak celebrate pun, humble la sikit. U tgk mana2 champion ada gelagak mcm, tgk Kunlavut jadi world champ, ada mcm tu?.. Ginting & Jonathan pun best example - humble saje... tak pyh pegi jauh sgt nak compare.. kat Msia, LCW pun jarang celebrate sampai gila.. LCW mmg layak celebrate mcm mana pun, kan dia legend & tahap yg bukan semua blh capai.
Yg si LZJ ni, teknikal tak kuat, hanya depend serangan skill saje, mmg tak blh pegi mana. Semua dah tau game dia, kalau dia asyik tak blh improve teknikal dia, ni mcm la.. asyik early rd exit.. Axlesen tu a complete player.. All England 2021 mcm satu fluke.... masa tu semua tak tau dia sgt...
LCW mana layak celebrate, yang tournament besar pun tak menang super series je menang tu pun yang lin Dan tak main,

Adakah komen aku keterlaluan atau mmg jitu? Satu2 komenku tak jitu dia tak celebrate gila2 di dua tournament ni krn mn boleh dia celebrate asalkan dia masih tak lyk celebrate... game dia dah mmg BOSAN.
I believes Lee Zii Jia will bring back gold.medal in.olympic if he stay focus
There was a video between all the ads. Amazing job👍
What has he won? Can you fill up five fingers? Attitude is not right, too loose and fancy free. I want to support him enormously but have given up.
Not consistent.
His ego lets him down.
9:27, That's funny, how well you choose the picture.
As always, Malaysian players basically have weak mentality. Skill & talent without strong mental fortitude means inconsistent performances. No wonder we only have a great total of 1 world champion so far. Things need to change in BAM. Nuff said.
LZJ now in the semis of the olympics 🥹
Hope he can go way more further
got smoked lol
watching this after the Olympic 2024. What a great Player🎉
He has improved but he shows off when he is winning
It's normal in sports. If you've watched tennis then you've seen Federer, Nadal, Del Potro, Steffi Graf and others roaring after a good point. Nowadays the squash players do that too. In badminton Li Shi Feng of China has torn his shirt, done cartwheels on court after winning
He is not over rated but not consistent. Over rated is Chen long . Win Olympic win world championship better than Lcw.
Sorry, Chen long deserved every titles he won. If anything, Chen long is underrated
Still one of the best especially with his iconic backhand smashes, is a waste if he failed to be a world champion

As a National player, one must be able to take pressure. Otherwise, call it quits.
Now he is proving it in 2024 artic open he is crazy destroying 2 amazing player with just 2 straight sets in 2 straight games 😮

Badminton not about muscle only, but brain importance too😂
Like to give my two cents worth on LZH.
I love him a lot ❤
