No, I have 4 granddaughters that begged me to do it cause they all got purple in their hair and they wanted me to match. Things like that make me the best Pappa in the whole world in their eyes so I really could care less about what anyone else thinks. Keep on rocking!!!
I bought one of those Squires just to go through it. Just started winding my own pickups, gave the prototype of my 50's style SSS pickups to a friend who liked them so much he put them in his SRV strat. I'm going to throw away everything in the pickguard put my pickups in it with 50's spec pots, switch, and output jack. Going to make a bone nut for it, set the neck dead flat, go through the frets and set her as low as she'll go for action, them see how the trem does. I'd say the first thing to try is grab a NO 2 pencil and scribble on the strings over the nut slots, for me that's been a good way to keep the strings from catching and slipping in the nut slots. Not to be a downer but the pickups on both of those guitars sounded bad and totally agree that a set of off the shelf Tex-Mex or Deluxe Drive Fender pickups would be a well spent $99.99 to improve the sound. I also saw a TH-cam guy just drop in a Fender prewired pickguard with no issues for those who don't wire stuff. Bottom line is the wood is good and ditch the electronics at the get go. That $119 Squire could be turned into a $300 to $450 or so guitar that would be better than a MIM Fender no problem.
@@GuitarYourself1 yeah, but why do that? why reinvest it still feels cheap.. better to invest in a higher level Squire & invest better into it... this is really low end junk in my opinion...
Seems like the squier's perfect for a young kid because its got a skinnier profile, less cumbersome than a standard strat. But not some little baby half size thing.

You’re absolutely right. It’s best to get good pickups and ditch the electronics that come stock.
Nice comparison! I think the Fojill sounded better when playing clean tones... A bit clearer in sound.. the Squier felt a bit dull..👍
Cool, thanks!
Sound wise? The Squier!!! It wasn't as loud as the pink one, but with the Squire, i turned the volume all the way up and like what i heard.
Yeah it was ok but for what you pay for the guitar just spend the extra money and put some Tex-mex pickups in it.
It was kind of a toss up for me, but I would replace the pickups in both guitars anyway!

I like that it’s so thin.
That’s what I loved about it the most! It’s a fantastic mod platform!
Yes that’s what I loved about it the most. It’s an amazing mod platform!!!
Hell yes!
That Strat might be appropriate for some young guitarist in a band called Rapid Fire, rocking-out in a basement somewhere. Cheers! 😎🎸
That only works if you have a guitar player with the loudest guitar amp on planet earth and the same speakers in his car!!!
@@GuitarYourself1 and if he does a solo running the fretboard up & down the top of a folding chair. Good times, hehe.

Absolutely! It’s the perfect beginners guitar. Although a light set up and some fret end work may be required.
Let's drop a Fender Tex-Mex loaded pickguard in to it!!
Absolutely!!!!
Absolutely!!!!
Did you go to sleep while your drunk mates were still awake?
Nope!!!
