Got mine a week ago. Black Strat model. Paint job, body, and neck feel very nice. Agree on tuners. There is a bit of slop and sometimes turning them a little sharpens a lot or a little. Will be replacing those. I had to replace the included Fender strings due to a mishap with my new peg winder attached to my motorized Dremel screwdriver. Snapped two 9 strings with that. Glad it was the free strings and not the Ernie Ball strings. My strings kept going sharp over several days. It's very humid here. They have stabilized now and kind of stay in tune. The included pickups sound fine for practice. The intonation needed zero adjustment. It is spot on. When I can learn to play better I will get a replacement pickguard and new set of pickups. Would like a humbucker. I kind of wish I had gotten an effects pedal instead of an amp. It has to be turned up too loud before I get decent overdrive distortion. Doesn't work in an apartment with bad playing. A multi effects pedal with built-in interface connected to headphones or regular speakers might be a better practice setup.

Why do people still believe that tuners have anything to do with the tuning stability? They have next to nothing to do with tuning stability. They make the guitar easier or more difficult to tune. But the stability of the tuning is down to the nut and sometimes the bridge. Also, the strings probably need to be stretched first.
I agree the main reason is a Nut but the tuners can slip a tooth in the cog mech in some cheap ones or not hold tight too. Nut is number one reason though. With regards to string stretch, if you can stretch steel youre a better man than me. What's actually happening when you "stretch" the string fully seating it in the stoptail/bridge etc and tightening the string windings fully on the tuning pegs. Something I always do though without fail when first up to pitch with new strings then retune and "stretch" again and retune. Makes a huge difference. Once neck is settled too then it's good to go. I don't believe the issue with the tremolo has anything to do with the tuners. I know there is stuff you can do with the nut, and the string trees to make it better but it probably will never go away. I just fix the tuning every time after I use the tremelo.
If Squier's are so good, why don't they just slap Fender stickers on them? I've never understood high profile pros using Squier's. I had a Squier back in the '80s when I was a kid, and it was garbage (same with an Epiphone), so I guess my dislike of them started from that.
my guess is to preserve and pay homage to the epiphone and squier names, since both epiphone and squier predate gibson and all predate fender by >50 years. epiphone in particular was a highly regarded company and one of gibson's early competitors
@@bluedrift420 It is also to preserve the 'value' of the main brand name, rather than risk devaluing it by producing cheap starter guitars under the F or G names. Fender and Squier are the brand, telecaster and Stratocasters are the models
Go for the telecaster, less to go wrong.
@@chrisstephens6194 valid point although it’s really only the tremelo that’s the difference but I know what you’re saying 👍🏻🙏🏻
Is it poor taste to keep the hanging tag? It reminds me of Minnie Pearl with her hat and the dangling price tag.

Should we not be striving for and demanding a higher standard of living?
If Squier's are so good, why don't they just slap Fender stickers on them? I've never understood high profile pros using Squier's. I had a Squier back in the '80s when I was a kid, and it was garbage (same with an Epiphone), so I guess my dislike of them started from that.
@@skeeter197140 but todays squiers aren’t like that honestly. It’s shocking the difference in what we had back in the day compared to the quality now.
my guess is to preserve and pay homage to the epiphone and squier names, since both epiphone and squier predate gibson and all predate fender by >50 years. epiphone in particular was a highly regarded company and one of gibson's early competitors
@@bluedrift420 It is also to preserve the 'value' of the main brand name, rather than risk devaluing it by producing cheap starter guitars under the F or G names. By value of the main brand name I mean the companies' ability to charge well over the odds because it has 'that name' on it rather than any other.
The Classic Vibe line is basically as good as the Fender Player, and costs half. With the american made, you basically buy a Classic Vibe with maybe 200$ more hardware, and 1200$ for the name. They aren't stupid, people will pay for tha name.
@@DerpEye exactly why my tele is a CV50s. Was £299 at andertons last year and made me sell my use ultra Texas tea I had. Outstanding guitars
👍
£129.99
@@ziggarillo it is now but it was £109 when I ordered it and suspect it will be again on Black Friday
Waiting on the black strat today. Is the telecaster only in Europe?
@@Dackdal nice one! It appears so I’m afraid. Enjoy your new guitar. If the tremelo is stiff just unscrew the spring plate a bit to soften it in the back under the cover. Great value instrument. Let me know how you get on
