Hey Mary, following up on this - I think I have mastitis 😭 I’m able to see a doctor tomorrow afternoon, but before then, should I nurse on that side first, every time to relieve it? Or would that just create the same problem on the other side? So much pain 😭 thanks in advance for your response, I really appreciate it.
@@ellizac9122 I would start on that side a little bit more often. And after as much as possible. -Apply head for 5 to 10 minutes. -Do lots of massage. Working out the lump towards the nipple. Firm but not so rough that it hurts (it will hurt a little) -Soaking your breast in a bowl of comfortably hot tap water with a 1/2 cup of Epsom salt for about 5 minutes. - nurse or pump. Dangle feeding helps. Lay baby flat on a surface and lean over baby to nurse. Gravity will help it come out. If you feed like it won’t move. You can ask your partner to suck it out. - Apply cold compresses (DONT SKIP THIS STEP) for 5 to 10 min. Repeat every 2 hours in the day. Don’t go more than a 4 hour stretch at night. - when it feels better, Lee doing this for another day. -it will be uncomfortable for days. Taking Ibuprofen helps with the pain. If you run a fever and feel lethargic, see a doctor sooner. Feel better mommy 💕
My 7 week old baby does very short feedings and very often (I think it’s because he doesn’t like my strong letdown) . I’ve tried different tactics for the letdown but he still gets discouraged. He’s gaining weight fine, but lately he only feeds for 5 minutes or less every hour on one side and then he’s done. I want him to get the hind milk, so the next time he wants to feed, should I latch him onto the same side or switch?
@@kathrynreyes3117 Some babies eat very quickly and others take a long time. Babies who eat for a short amount of time to usually eat more often. There’s not a right or wrong way. It can definitely be because of your letdown (and that’s ok) but it’s usually best to let baby tell you what they need. As long as baby has six or more wet diapers every 24 hours you know they’re getting enough. 😃 Most moms do not need to be concerned about fore milk and hind-milk. Moms that have a forceful, letdown and oversupply are ones that do need to be a little more aware of it though. I’ll attach a three part video series here for you to decide if you do have the condition “forceful let down/supply”. When baby eats more often, they actually get more fat like in Hindmilk. At this age, mom should try to offer both breasts at each feeding when baby will take it. Then start on the opposite side the next feeding. If baby doesn’t want the 2nd side, that’s definitely ok. Check out these videos. The first video will help you decide if you have the condition. Let me know what you think. ❤️ Forceful Letdown and Oversupply th-cam.com/play/PLbqc4bXQcbyUzyNxG-w7tBtKLWA3NpzLe.html
Say baby feeds for 20 minutes on right side and then only 10 minutes on left... should I start the next feed on the left? Or just continue alternating and start next feed on the right?
Baby should nurse on the first side for as long as absolutely possible, then switch to the 2nd side. Baby might only be on the 2nd side for a few seconds or they might be there for a while. Start the next feeding on the breast that baby was on 2nd. You should not try to get baby to nurse an equal amount of time on both breasts at a feeding. If baby does end up nursing for the same amount of time, it’s ok but they generally don’t do that very often. We want baby to nurse this way (as long as possible on 1st side) so that baby gets more fat from your milk. ❤️
Hi Dear, Just want to ask that my baby she is 3 months old And before she like to take formula But from now she doesn’t like to take bottle So I am stressed What should I can do for her Thanks
This can be very stressful.😞 Most babies will go back and forth but when they won’t, it’s rough. My best advice that I have is to have someone else give the bottle with you completely out of the house. They just know that you’re there. Next, have whoever gives the bottle, to give it early. Before hunger signs are seen. Here’s my video on getting baby to take the bottle ❤️ Good luck mommy! th-cam.com/video/7VTEoGmsCE0/w-d-xo.html
This was really helpful, thank you!
That’s awesome! I’m glad that it helped! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

How old is your baby? Do you have a guess as to why this happened? It help to pinpoint it if possible.
