I watched the first 10 mins of Shin Ultraman, as well as the new trailers for Shin Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider Black Sun.

In the first several minutes of Shin Ultraman, the monsters you saw in order were Gomess, the Mammoth Plant Juran, Peguila, Larugeus, Kaigel, Pagos, and Neronga
Fun thing about that cold opening for Shin Ultraman is basically it's a tribute to Ultra Q with all those kaiju.
Also, fun fact, the actor for Kamen Rider Black Sun is the commander/bossman guy in Shin Ultraman 🤣 (take a look again at both 🤣)
Cool reaction. Welcome back! As for the theory, I generally agree that all three companies are looking for a recipe for a hit to enter the international level. Well, since Anno himself has confirmed that his Shin films are one universe crossover simply bound to happen sooner or later.

It's funny that you mentionned that the Specium Ray is a old-schooled effect, because not only the effect was made by the same man who did the effect back in the original series in 66, but he also did it using the same handmade method than back in the day (Enhanced with some CGI). Same thing with Ultraman himself, even tho it's CGI, Most of the motion capture for him was performed by his original suit actor, Bin Furuya (With Anno himself also providing some of the mocap)
From what I seen of the Shin films, I think Anno is trying to encapsulate the essence of each Franchise based on what they originally symbolized.
Shin Godzilla as a nuclear destruction allegory but this time through the lens of the Fukushima disaster and government incompetence around it.
Shin Ultraman as an ultimately hopeful story about cooperation and challenge the unknowns of a new era of possibilities much like when the original aired.
Shin Kamen rider being the Tragic hero and embodiment of justice, this time sticking close to the original storyline compared to The First and The Next films.

I like crossovers that can do this as well, I feel smash bros or the clsssic MVC games are good examples for the most part. Anyhow thats what i respect about classic works especially Japanese classic works and some modern ones.
Anyhow characters and stories like these have a lot of value especially when they challenge the general idea of society and the people who make fun of them, after all in a way they challenge even the opinions of right and wrong, good and evil, justice and peace, etc through a character that presents in itself was is to be the true form of its theme and the list of things i mentioned against someone who is meant to be bad guy, groups that appear to be generally righteous & “kind” or even someone who claims to be on the very hero’s side. Maybe this goes to show alongside some other icons Stan Lee, Shigeru Miyamoto, Shotaro Ishimori, Masahiro Sakurai and many more other doers of man are great examples to people of all ages and times.

Shadow Moon however,as anyone said it,missed the Mechanical attire,which is the best part of his suit

ultimately i dunno if we're gonna see a crossover with all the shinny boys, since that would be a proper logistical nightmare, the movies, as far as we know, arent set in the same universe but just share the same creative team and visual style, and also that i think theyre wise enough to know that if they do that they will not be able to satisfy everyone and their own personal preferences and biases of characters will show through. either way, the announced recently that shin ultraman and shin rider are indeed coming to north america at different festivals and things, before we likely see a small release, and black sun is coming to amazon prime in every region, so we're all good.

Shin Ultraman has most of the same production staff as Shin Godzilla so thats why it feels a lot like it.
i actually kinda agree that theory on shin zo j is an experimental project hence the hiatus for those projects in between and end up with kuuga as the revival of the series. i like the edits and the playfulness of your commentary! i love it!

I really like your theory! Nice job. Apparently, a plan is already in place to make 2 more shin ultraman movies (second one being Return of ultraman and third will be Ultra seven). However, I have not heard of another Shin Godzilla in the works. As to Kamen Rider Black Sun, I am hoping it will be a multi season gore fest on Prime Video...similar to the earlier Amazon Rider from a few years back which came out with 2 seasons and a theatrical released movie (in Japan only). And I do agree that the different shins have a different flavor to them. Excellent observation!

Black Sun is literally made by a rising japanese academy award nominated director and written by a japanese academy award nominated screenwriter. The new actor for Kotaro is Hidetoshi Nishijima who just won best actor at Japanese academy award last year for Drive My car. Both he and that film was also acclaimed by international critics. Obviously considering your very lacking knowledge of Japanese cinema, you don't know any of that. This is a major production, that's for sure.
Also, the one who uploaded the first 10 minutes of Shin Ultraman was Tsuburaya, the producer of Ultraman themselves. Not "some nerd" like you said. Stop being disrepectful and do some freaking research. And if you can't even speak a lick of Japanese, then don't comment on a non subtitled video like you know anything.
