Yo, I never understood Calvinism until today! I’ve been looking and now I have found!
I hope you have taken a close second look at Calvinism. Like Piper's sermon, Calvinism has a certain appeal on the surface but completely falls apart on closer inspection.
@@mrgrossism that’s your opinion, and on the contrary it’s been a prominent position for centuries.
I’m not saying it’s perfect and can’t be wrong but I’ve yet to hear a better exegetical theology.

Those who have accepted His free gift of eternal life that are living in sin, God does chasten His people. Believers who are living in sin God will chasten even to taking our life early. First Corinthians 5:5 Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh, so that his spirit, Ephesians 4:30, may be saved in the day of the Lord.
This was a born again believer, Ephesians 1:13-14, that was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to loose his life, and the rewards he could have had in heaven. but the man was still saved. First Corinthians 3:15. God can not go back on His word. John 6:40. John 6:47. John 3:18. We can loose our life, and our rewards in heaven, but not eternal life or it would not be eternal. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. God can not lie. Romans 4:5-8. But the Lord does chasten His children. John 1:12. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, (First Corinthians 15:1-4,0 for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. John 3:16-18. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it. John 10:28-29.
Romans 3:26-28 Ephesians 2:8-9. None of us have anything to boast in. Romans 11:6. Salvation is a free gift from God to all who believe on Him for the free gift of eternal life. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, physical death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Gods word. And He can not lie. John 3:36.
Should say “Ten Negative effects of believing the 5 Lies of Calvinism”.
or he could preach to you particularly “Ten reasons why you should read the Bible.” Read the whole thing front to back with an open mind and faith in God being the holy and flawless God of the universe you will end with total acceptance of reformed theology. Give it a shot.

I just recently finished reading the NKJV cover to cover. In that version, John Calvin’s name, nor any of his fatalistic interpretations, was ever mentioned. What version do you read and when did you last read it cover to cover?
@@st.christopher1155 i didn’t say you’d see their names in the Bible as though they’re prophetic? It’s not a competition to read the word but i believe I’ve done it (not always in order) probably about three times. I’ve used the ESV as my primary and KJV/NASB for comparison. I can also read Greek and Hebrew so that helps.
Piper undermines his own arguments and, I take it, his true colors become apparent.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 13-14. This would make no sense if God caused all things to happen and ordained everything we do. God is not the author of confusion. You can trust God! God doesn't lie, for it is impossible for him to do so. These verses would be confusing and deceiving if God caused us to do everything we do as the 5 point Calvinists teach. Imagine that if they were correct, it would be because of God that I am disagreeing with them and writing this comment! God doesn't cause division among his own people. God desires unity among his children. False doctrines of the devil is what divides the church and is why there's so many denominations, not because God ordained it.
So in brief are you saying calvinism is wrong?

Your whole tulip falls apart at the P. Second Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, after we have once believed, He abideth faithful, He can not deny Himself. We are save the second we believe on Jesus as the only way of salvation apart from any works. Ephesians 2:8-9, because it is a free gift, apart from our works, which can not save sinners. The GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord, You can not boast in free. Romans six:23. The GIFT of God is eternal life, not a reward for good behavior.
First John 2:2 John 3:18 Believers can no longer be condemned. John six:47. Why do you call God a liar?

What do you mean "falls apart"? You seem to corroborate it instead?
The P in tulip means you must persevere to get something we already have. Eternal life. John 6:47. Romans 4:5-8. John 3:16-18 Romans 1:16
First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. First Timothy 2:24 God is not willing that any should perish but all should come to the knowledge of the truth.
The truth is we are all sinners and have no way to pay our debt. Jesus paid our sin debt in full, past, present, and future sins so we could never be condemned again. Romans 4:6-8 John 3:18.
Matthew 7:21-23 Those who trust in their works have not done the will of His Father in heaven. John 6:40 and John 6:29. John Piper preaches works salvation. Lordship salvation is works salvation. Not the free gift from God by faith alone apart from works. Ephesians 2:8-9 Romans 11:6. All grace, no works. Our works are filthy rags in Gods eyes. But when we trust Jesus alone for the free gift of eternal life, He imputes His perfect righteousness to us, and will no more impute sin to our account. Romans 4:5-8.
He makes the cross of Christ of no effect. Galatians 2:21 I do not void the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. True believers have nothing to boast in. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. IT IS FREE. Romans 6:23. You can not boast in free.
The gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4. The second we believe that gospel as applying to us, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13-14. Our guarantee of eternal life. Ephesians 4:30. Sealed unto the day of redemption. Hebrews 13:5 He will never leave us or forsake us.
So how do you interpret Matthew 24:13?
Yes little Johnny! Let me tell you about the Calvinists god....
We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you.
Take comfort knowing that we are not like God.
We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did.
So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God?
So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you.
Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases.
I know as Calvinists parents we should be more grateful for our own salvation! It’s like, ‘as long as our eternal destiny is secure, as long as our life is all planned out and taken care of by God, we shouldn’t give a damn about family, friends or anyone else!’
After all, the lost hate God because God first hated them. We as Calvinist parents should hate what god hates, but it is so hard, because we can’t help but love you little Johnny and our families and neighbours!

“…we say that God once established by his eternal and unchangeable plan those whom he long before determined once for all to receive into salvation, and those whom, on the other hand, he would devote to destruction…he has barred the door of life to those whom he has given over to damnation.”

“The devil, and the whole train of the ungodly, are in all directions, held in by the hand of God as with a bridle, so that they can neither conceive any mischief, nor plan what they have conceived, nor how muchsoever they may have planned, move a single finger to perpetrate, unless in so far as he permits, nay unless in so far as HE COMMANDS, that they are not only bound by his fetters but are even FORCED to do him service” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 11)
John Piper states it plainly: Quote from John Piper:
"God . . . brings about all things in accordance with his will. In other words, it isn’t just that God manages to turn the evil aspects of our world to good for those who love him; it is rather that he himself brings about these evil aspects for his glory (see Ex. 9:13-16; John 9:3) and his people’s good (see Heb. 12:3-11; James 1:2-4). This includes-as incredible and as unacceptable as it may currently seem-God’s having even brought about the Nazis’ brutality at Birkenau and Auschwitz as well as the terrible killings of Dennis Rader and even the sexual abuse of a young child . . .

Galatians 1:8-9 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
Warning you that this pugnacious insult to, and mis- characterization of Holy God will be known at the Judgment. If you want to take the Arminian perspective, then that is up to you, live out your life from that point of view. But from your writing, it can be seen, what kind of relationship you have with God. Jesus said what is in the heart, comes out the mouth. Jeremiah 17:9
