      I couldn't agree more!!!
I started listening to BRN Bott Radio Network Nov. 2018: RC Sproul & Ligonier Ministries caught my attention . . . THEN, just happened to hear of a pastor in disagreement with RC & how they loved having Biblical debates, remained cherished friends, bound to not be in complete agreement . . . I had to know who was that pastor & what was it they would not agree on??? None other than John MacArthur, of course, RC was a- millennial, no rapture, & infant baptism - needless to say, even though RC has a way of teaching that gets through to me & sticks with me, I have been hooked on John MacArthur ever since.
Alistair Begg was also near & dear to RC, he believes in the Rapture, I love listening to his voice & tender heart with powerful conviction ( also his use of song lyrics).
I love Tony Evans, even though I'm not big on sports, that man can take any scripture & put you right into the middle of it as if you were there then or make the lesson from the past adapt to our lives today, amazing talent & ability!!
However, in the midst of the stress & panic of 2020 & covid, I heard excitement of anticipation, anxiety, even giddiness at the impending "coming of our LORD & SAVIOR . . . now . . . ok . . . Now! . . . how about . . . NOW!!!" Just what I needed when I needed it most, from Jack Hibbs, I absolutely love that man, thank you LORD!!!
It gives me tremendous encouragement, learning both John & Jack are in California with highly dedicated congregations accomplishing impossible strides in their areas, that Tony & his family are rock solidly entrenched in Texas, as is Chuck Swindoll, that Alistair is in Ohio, Irwin Lutzer in Chicago,Illinois, Ligonier in Florida & Pennsylvania, Wallbuilders with Dave & Tim Barton in South Carolina (?) . . . I am aware of terrific gospel bound & Biblical preachers in New Mexico, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota . . . all in all, I think we've got great preachers all over, right where God needs them to be.
ALL GLORY TO GOD IN HIS INFINITE WISDOM, THANK YOU FOR GIVING US SUCH A WONDERFUL SELECTION OF VERSE BY VERSE PREACHERS TO STRENGTHEN & ENCOURAGE US IN THIS FINAL HOUR OF YOUR RETURN, in the blessed name of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Creator God! And all God's children say, "AMEN!!!"

I was a wretched sinner consumed by sin and lived for sin. I hated the thought of a restricted life . I was saved after going through a terrible time in my life I was drawn to Christ and I have been truly born again. I am a new person and changing everyday by Gods grace and mercy. I am being molded into an image of Christ. I can see the difference every day in the way God has changed me. I once hated the the law of God and loved sin and I now love Gods laws and hate sin. This is not something that is natural to man it is something that is truly God given. It is not something that can be taught or leaned it is something that only God can give by his compassion and grace. His work in everything is absolutely astonishing. There is no doubt that our very existence is proof enough for his presence. Every breath that is taken by man is a gift of life that we have existence at all by his wonderful act of love . To be born again is to be what we were made to be it is the foreshadowing of what is to come and what once was in the garden of Eden and what will be in the forever after. Praise God hallelujah Amen

One of my favorite of all time. I fashion John MacArthur to be the one who champions Calvinism more than anyone else on this planet yet here he is saying he doesn’t understand how Free will is involved, but somehow it must be. I love the humility of that. I have chased the answer for this for four years now and the greatest understanding I’ve gotten had been from this sermon and in a radio interview he did a few years ago. Thank you sir for being bold in your faith.

    • @bible1st
      @bible1st 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's because we have freewill to make a choice to repent and believe God and put faith in him. The Bible shows both predestination and election and freewill. Therefore calvinism is found insufficient and contradictory to many many scriptures.

This was a beautiful sermon! I have been struggling with the idea of human will and God's perfect sovereignty and have been trying to get answers. There is still this war within me about understanding this fully but at the same time coming to a realization of how can I as a created being understand fully the mind of the Creator? How can I, a human being, who does not even know what will happen 5 minutes from now try to understand the One who calms the raging sea? As it says in His Word, in Psalm 46:10, "be still, and know that I am God." God, You are faithful and Your plans will come in place according to Your great sovereignty. To Him be the glory forever.

    • @BEABEREAN10
      @BEABEREAN10 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

So if you admit that you cannot fully understand God as a human, then why do we try to put him in such finite boxes of Calvinism and Arminianism. To me, it seems the safest place to land would be right in the middle with that the bible makes clear, God sits in the heavens and does as he pleases psalm 115:3. This means he can create completely free willed beings and he gives us a free choice, but at the same time he has the right to interject and even force us to do whatever he pleases at any time and we cannot question it. We see both of these examples over and over in the bible.
So to say God controls every minute detail, good and bad, or that he has no control at all...those are both anti-bibilical ideas. But humans are too prideful to take the middle road approach.

Praying for you brother, God is Sovereign but he does not condemn anyone to an ETERNAL HELL!
      Calvinism at its worst!
Of Course God gave me the Faith. No question about it. The real problem you guys have - AND YOU TRY TO HIDE IT ALL THE TIME - Is that the ability to accept is given to ALL. God mentions this almost 1,000 times in Scripture - Why didn't you believe? Why didn't you follow me?
1 Peter 3:9 is very clear - just like Romans 1:18-23. God waits on all who accept him. Acceptance is a choice that God freely gives to man - and has ever since Adam and Eve were in the Garden. Did Adam Choose to eat the Fruit? Yes he did.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
Calvinist thinking is prideful thinking because you say "God chose me over others" and the ONLY conclusion that can be drawn in that statement is "I deserve it and you did not!"
God did not MAKE man to be Robots.
God gave man FREE WILL [Romans 1:18-23 God Clearly Showed himself to man - MAN HAS NO EXCUSE] because it was HIS CHOICE to remove his omnipotence from the choice.
YES - God could have EASILY forced man to chose him! IF God forced man to love him - and to accept him - then God is not really loved.
God KNEW when he made man that he was going to fall. God KNEW that his son was the only redemption man COULD EVER HAVE.
What Calvinism does is paint God out as a monster - I know you have heard that - but it is true. God Creates a man - Forces him NOT to believe and in doing so CONDEMNS him to hell. That is by definition EVIL. God is not evil.
Again Jesus said Those who DON NOT BELIEVE - THEY ARE CONDEMNED ALLREADY.
What you do not understand is that Man is BORN CONDEMNED - Man's ONLY HOPE is for God to save them - not of works lest any man should boast.
Read your bible and study because you just lost this argument. You lost not because I am so smart - but because the WORDS of Jesus Christ dooms Calvinism - The Words of GOD through the Apostle Paul DOMMS Calvinism.

      1 Corinthians 15:1-2
Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I proclaimed as good news to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, IF YOU hold fast the word which I proclaimed to you as good news, unless you believed for nothing.

And He said, “If you will earnestly listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, Yahweh, am your healer.”

“And those who are far off will come and build the temple of Yahweh.” Then you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you. And it will happen if you utterly listen to the voice of Yahweh your God.
      1 John 2:24, 29
As for you, let that which you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who does righteousness has been born of Him.
      Matthew 6:14-15
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins."
      - With Salvation you are a new Creature and as a new Creature you have a NEW HEART and you will have a NEW ABILITY to forgive sin! Jesus is saying the Mark of BEING A NEW CREATURE is the way you FORGIVE people who have wronged you - and have wronged you in the worst way!
      - Pre-Salvation this is not possible - AFTER Salvation it is impossible NOT to FORGIVE!
      Matthew 12:30-32
“He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but IF the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. And whoever IF speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever IF speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Mark 3:28-30 “Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but IF whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”- because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”
      Matthew 16:24-26
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “IF INDEED anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. IF you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But IF you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
      Matthew 18:18-19
“Truly I say to you, whatever IF bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven." - THE WORDS OF JESUS!!
IF you will believe you SHALL BE SAVED!

Good point brother, I agree with you to a point. Those verses do say that, that if we confess we will be saved! Amen…. But one problem, Paul makes it clear in Romans 3 and Ephesians 1 (and other places but these hit me the hardest) that man is fallen and spiritually Dead. So how can someone who is dead choose God? I think of a Hospital bed and on it is a man and he’s dead like Ephesians says (the word is translated rotting flesh) and you ask Him do you want to be saved? What’s the answer? *crickets* there is no response because he’s dead. So something has to take place in order for him to say yes. That’s the Doctrine of Regeneration, the Holy Spirit regenerates so that he can say yes and when he is revived, he will say yes. So it’s God doing the work rather than man. For if God set aside His sovereignty and it’s left up to human choice then there is a possibility that no man will be in Heaven, and we have no reason to believe that Old Testament and end time prophecies will even come true, because God has left us to our choices and possibly we can mess everything up. God must intervene Sovereignly but if he intervenes Sovereignly He must infringe on free will but possibly in your view he can’t. Romans 9 helps answer this as well. Thanks my brother!

@carboncopies706 No. That one verse does not outweigh the rest of scripture. He is right , the key is in the word " IF" being in so many verses.
The problem is you are seeing having "faith" as a "work. " but faith is not a work and we get no merit or glory from believing in the work that God already completed.

@@viviennebaptiste “THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME”
      ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE
Question: “What is the name which is above every name?”
Answer: Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, “HaYAH Ashar HaYAH [“I AM WHO I AM.”] And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM {YAH} has sent me to you.’” Moreover, God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations” (Exodus 3:13-15). Halleluyah, Praise YAH! The LORD revealed His essential name “YAH,” and this name appears 48 times in the Bible.
Question: “Doesn’t the LORD have many names?”
Answer: And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as EL SHADDAI [God Almighty], but by My name Lord {YAH} I was not known to them (Exodus 6:2-3). The LORD only has one essential name YAH, and many descriptive names.
Question: What does this mean to me?
Answer: The prophet Isaiah makes this very clear: “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV, as compared to the Hebrew). “YAH” means “I AM” with “Shua” meaning salvation, and thus YAHSHUA is the exclusive name of our salvation.
Question: What name did Christ actually receive at His birth?
Before we answer, it is important that we know one crucial fact, that the name Jesus has only existed since the 17th century. So the real question is, “What name did the angel reveal to Joseph?” Obviously the name of salvation according to the Prophet is “YAH,” and “shua” means salvation.
Answer: In Matthew 1:21, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA, for He will save His people from their sins.” “You shall call” is a command from God through the angel. The name YAHSHUA is revealed and commanded to be given to our Savior. Most do not know of the transformations, or the linguistic evolution, of the only name by which we must be saved: Jesus changed from Iesus due to the late addition of the letter “J” into the English alphabet in the 17th century. Jesus comes from Iesus, and Iesus is found in the 1611 KJV English version of the Bible. Iesus (Latin) comes from the Greek name Iesous, which is a transliteration of the Aramaic name Yeshua, Yeshua was a common name in the 1st century, and most people who lived in the land of Israel would have heard YAHSHUA as Yeshua.
Question: Why is this one name YAHSHUA so important to our salvation?
The Apostle Peter made this very clear and emphatic: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Question: How do we know that YAH was revealed to us?
Answer: The Savior Himself told us when He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). “I AM” is YAH, as in Halleluyah, Praise YAH!
The Apostle Paul, who was called Saul, on the Road to Damascus heard the name which is above every name, He testified of this to King Agrippa, “While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O King, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am YAHSHUA, whom you are persecuting’” (Acts 26:12-15).
Question: Did the apostle Paul hear the name which is above every name?
Answer: The apostle Paul wrote, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him {YAH} the name which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUA every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). Every language is to know and confess this one name: YAHSHUA.
Question: “What does it mean if we reject the one name given under heaven by which we must be saved?”
Answer: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). To reject the Savior’s revealed name is to stand condemned. Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA! And be saved!
This יָה is “YAH” {I AM} in Hebrew.
“But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord YAHSHUA, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians 3:14-17). Shalom in His name, YAHSHUA!

Don't be so blind - Read Romans 1:18-32 - GOD REVEALED HIMSELF TO ALL MEN FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME! - They have no EXCUSE BECAUSE THEY KNEW GOD - and then REJECTED HIM!
Romans 10:8-10 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
that IF YOU confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and IF YOU believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
From Dr. MacArthur's Legacy Standard Bible Romans 1:18-32:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, both His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
FOR EVEN THOUGH THE KNEW GOD, THEY DID NOT GLORIFY HIN AS GOD[***This is clearly a Choice that man makes***] or give thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the likeness of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions; for their females exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the males abandoned the natural function of the female and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to an unfit mind, to do those things which are not proper, having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, violent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the righteous requirement of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Calvinism is not true. The "whosoever" in John 3:16 means whosoever believes which means whosoever believes. Get it? That means anyone can be saved if they believe. It's a decision made by man. Not a decision made by God for man. Calvinism is like Mormonism and Evolutionism (yes, evolution is a religion....it's definitely NOT science) in the sense that all these "experts" like MacArthur and Sproul seem to be required to understand it. True Christianity is simple: "Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." And we (Christians) know that "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast." Quit preaching lies.

@@michaelboleyn651 PLEASE STOP DISTORTING WHO GOD IS!!
Rely only on Scripture. The Principle of First Mention is this. the First time God mentions something in the Bible that is truth.
God says to Adam Do Not Eat of the Fruit of the Tree in the middle of the Garden. This is Clearly a CHOICE that he GAVE FREE WILL TO ADAM! This is truth - and God does not change his truth.
      John 1:7-13
John the Baptist came as a witness, to bear witness about the Light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the Light, but he came to bear witness about the Light. There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens everyone. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
      First Choice given to people:
He came to what was His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.
      Second Choice:
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
The will of man is First of the Blood or of the Flesh.
This means God Created us NOT OF OUR CHOICE but of HIS CHOICE.
I had no choice about being created. BUT John is very clear her- The choice is made for those who chose to believe. And then John Talks about the CHOICE no one had, and that is the choice to exist.
Adam and Eve did not have a Choice. God created them - and then placed in the Garden.
I did not have a choice - I was created. Then I was pursued by GOD [No one can come to the Father unless they are drawn] AND HE showed to me CLEARLY who he was during his pursuit (Romans 1:18-23).
This is not Rocket Science it is very Clear God Created ADAM To FREELY CHOOSE GOD!
John the Baptist came as a witness, to bear witness about the Light, so that all might believe through him. - IT IS CLEAR that John the Baptist was brought in this world to give people a Choice. A CHOICE so that they could LOVE and follow God because of their LOVE. Just like John The Baptist did!
It is clear that ALL [pas in the Greek Clearly meaning the Whole World] MIGHT believe.
      Don't Forget Romans 10:6-11
But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way: “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL GO UP INTO HEAVEN?’ (that is, to bring Christ down), or ‘WHO WILL GO DOWN INTO THE ABYSS?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”-that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, leading to righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, leading to salvation.
For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES UPON HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME.”

@@markwills3602 “THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME”
The Assyrian whose whole purpose was to destroy and put an end to many nations and then in the end God punished the king of Assyria .
But there is an undeniable contradiction here , if God used the Assyrian to express His anger to destroy nations and punish Mt Zion and Jerusalem
why did He punish Assyria ! It is like getting a hit man to strike your enemy and then betraying the hit man after the dastardly deed was done.
But God who is the judge of the earth must do the right thing (Genesis 18 verse 25 )
The Prophet Jonah had to be corrected by God ......When the Lord himself said to Jonah " but Nineveh (capital of Assyria ) has 120,000 people who cannot tell their right hand from their left , and many cattle as well . Should I not be concerned about that great city (Jonah 4 verse 11 )
The prophet Isaiah also needs to be corrected if he believed that God used an evil tyrant to represent His burning anger .

So God does not give a Choice but in the Dr. MacArthur Legacy Bible we have "IF YOU" 699 times?
Then in regards to salvation we have this CLEAR CHOICE!
      Romans 10:9 that IF YOU confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
This is an open and shut case. God says to Man IF YOU will believe in Jesus Christ You will be saved!!
God put his Sovereignty on the sidelines so man could CHOOSE to love him!
To me that is the GREATEST ACKNOWLEDGMENT of God and his Sovereignty!

God said Don't eat the fruit of that one tree!
God said “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life." The MacArthur Legacy Bible!
You are correct - He who Responds BY FAITH Has eternal Life. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." - IF YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE!
      John 6:53-58
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”
      John 6:63-64
“The Spirit is the One who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.

Wayne Dunavant, I mean this in all due respect. I love Jesus and I'm going to show the truth about Jesus from His word. John MacArthur teaches a false Gospel. He teaches that God chooses some for salvation and passes over some people not giving them salvation. John MacArthur teaches that we have total inability so that we can't choose to receive Jesus's free gift of forgiveness. That doesn't teach the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel means Good News. If God doesn't offer His free gift of forgiveness to all people and just saves some and passes over others, God doesn't love all people, and God's love for all men is clearly taught in scripture. John MacArthur teaches that men have to be regenerated by God, which is no choice by those He regenerates. It is forced, not received willingly. Man cannot love God if it is forced, because when it is forced, it can't be love. Love is a choice, not forced. God offers salvation to all. He draws all men to Himself according to what Jesus teaches in scripture...
      John 12:32
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
      John 12:33
This he said, signifying what death he should die.
Salvation is offered to all men. We are all drawn to Him. We need to receive His free gift of forgiveness freely, by free will, to show our love for Jesus for all He did and all He does for us.
Anyone who preaches any other Gospel, than what ye have received, let him be accursed. It teaches in God's word...
      Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
      Galatians 1:9
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
John MacArthur isn't preaching this Gospel that is taught in God's word. When you listen to John MacArthur enough times, you will see this incorrect preaching of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
      John 12:33

This teaches that Jesus is offering salvation to all men. Some of us listen to God's conviction to our hearts to receive Jesus's free gift of forgiveness, some men don't choose Jesus's free gift of forgiveness.
And according to John MacArthur, regeneration is given to some men without their knowledge of it. If God chooses some of us by regeneration and He passes over those He doesn't choose how is this love? Love for Jesus can't be forced or it isn't love. Jesus wants us to freely love Him. It can't be love if it is forced on men by regeneration without being chosen by any one of us. It has to be freely received or it isn't love.
It also teaches in God's word...

@@graftme3168 “THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME”

Sometimes I think Calvinists glory in the agony as if it proves it is from God. Most of their understanding of what God is like is more like the character of Satan! This baffles me quite a bit. Satan is controlling and manipulating and purposely keeps the truth from us. These are character traits that Calvinists attribute to God! Struggling and agonizing to understand truth probably means they are going to the wrong source. God's ways are "FIRST peaceable." No peace = God is not in it.

God can do whatever He pleases. He has given us the ability to make decisions, but if He chooses to He will intervene and we will have no power over His will. What I know is He does not micromanage our lives the way some think. We have an amazing amount of freedom, and that is where our choice lies. We must choose Him.

Some tend to assume we are not robots and have what is referred to as FREE WILL. God is in TOTAL CONTROL of HIS creation. He is not LIMITED by having to look down the tunnel of time, check our decision, then make HIS plans. This seems to be a widely held view but is it biblical. Things we have HEARD and HEARD have a way of become perceived as TRUE, but are they. ALMIGHTY GOD makes plans as HE desires for things to happen. Because of HIS power things are DECREED or ORDAINED. The word FOREKNOWLEDGE is often misused as thinking GOD just how we will do then make his plans. Might sound good but do not think that dog will hunt. Take JUDAS for example. We are told “ahead of time” in Psalms that Jesus would get handed over for 30 pieces of silver. Suppose GOD told us this is how JESUS would be handed and Judas would be the one. What IF JUDAS and his FREE WILL decide at the last minute to repent of this terrible sin and took JESUS to a safe place hundreds of miles away. This shows how that if we did have FREE WILL that even GOD could never be sure things will unfold as he says. I have studied this for years and this helped me. It is like God has Level A and Level B. Level A is the things God has decreed and ordained to happen. They must happen as they do for future events to take place. If people use Free Will here things will go off course and HOLY GOD would not be all powerful and all knowing, but HE IS. Level B is the small things, I.e., do we want Vanilla or Strawberry ice cream, a hot dog or hamburger or turn right or left at the intersection. These things do not really alter the events of a. Level A. We are able to make certain calls but GOD intercedes many times behind the scenes and makes things happen as they should because HIS CHARACTER AND POTTER IS ON DISPLAY FOR EVERYBODY TO SEE. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you. 😃

@@dennisbryant4095 “THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME”

JM is my favorite Pastor. I listen to 15-20 messages at least a week. In the closing moments he advised his audience (other pastors), to let the things go that weren't crystal clear in scripture. I pray that some day he will take his own advise regarding "For whom did Christ die"...That is NOT clear Biblically either no matter how hard JM tries to make it so.

@Rodrick Evans // Yet God alone knows who is "predestined" correct? So to those whom are saved now, the issue is mute, unknown until a person is born again; therefore Christians need to treat all people as those whom Christ died for; not identifying who they are before the rapture since scripture tells us that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world: "and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; *and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world"* [1 John 2 v2/4 v14 John 1 v29/4 v42/12 v32]. JM's theology is only applicable/seen at the very end; why does it matter?
It's a blessing to read scripture which speaks of predestination, yet it is merely an opportunity for Gods people to see, and be thankful for the predetermined, and undeserved grace which the Lord bestowed on us which was given according to Gods sovereign will.
Sadly, instead of using predestination for an opportunity to do that which is clearly before us [praising/thanking God for choosing us], *its has divided those whom where still strong, and left standing regarding sound doctrine/theology which is what our enemy wants.*

      It's crystal clear. I John 2:2:

@@ddr5138 // John 1 v29/4 v42, 1 John 4 v14, 1 Peter 3 v18 and more. Imo, this verse best reflects the truth with regards to this issue:
"So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation *to all men,* even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life *to all men"* [Romans 5 v18]. Here the affects of both Adam's sin, and the propitiatory work of Christ are clearly seen; there are no mysteries contained in this verse(s) re: *to all men."* I'm certain JM has merely over thought this issue vs trying to fit "a system" with error.

He implied that the man seeking to be saved in this sermon could possibly have been an apostate or could have crossed the line of redemption and couldn't be saved period. I submit that to be absurb bc if one is sincerely seeking and calling on God for mercy then that shows us that he could definitely be saved with no equivocation bc one will NOT call out to God UNLESS they are being drawn by the Trinity (John 6:44, John 12:32, John 16:7) and so we know they have NOT crossed the line.

@@Akitorbenov “THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME”
So God does not give a Choice but in the Dr. MacArthur Legacy Bible we have "IF YOU" 699 times?
Then in regards to salvation we have this CLEAR CHOICE!
      Romans 10:9 that IF YOU confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

@37:58 he references Paul in Romans 9:1-5
Paul was soo grieved in the beginning of the chapter because his kinsmen were stumbling over this rock of offense which required them to BELIEVE in faith in Christ.
    ROMANS 9:32,33
    32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by FAITH, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH on him shall not be ashamed.
He WASN’T grieved because he thought some were chosen for salvation and some were not.
*HE WAS GRIEVED BECAUSE THOSE THAT SOUGHT SALVATION BY WORKS OF THE LAW DIDN’T GET IT!*
    They wouldn’t attain it!
They were IGNORANT of God’s righteousness which was by FAITH and they were trying to establish their own righteousness:
    ROMANS 10:3
3 For they being IGNORANT of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their OWN righteousness, HAVE NOT SUBMITTED THEMSELVES unto the righteousness of God.
They falsely ASSUMED they had salvation simply by being the elect chosen nation of God!
That’s why Paul was so grieved because they sought it not by FAITH.
    ROMANS 9:1-5
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
    4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
This has absolutely nothing to do with Paul being grieved that some weren’t chosen and some were predestined to hell for no apparent reason before the foundation of the world.
Again we see in the very next chapter:
    ROMANS 10:1-4
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being IGNORANT of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their OWN righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that BELIEVETH.

John McArthur and I are almost on the same level of understanding here. We both affirm the truth that free will and sovereign direction are in scripture, but John misses a key point in explaining this supposed paradox. God's permissive will is the key to understanding how to bring these truths together.
In the book of Job, we see the truth unfold. God and Satan are having a dialogue, in which they discuss Job. Satan asks for permission to afflict Job. At this point, God shows his absolute sovereignty by allowing Satan to afflict Job, but he could not kill him. See Job 1-2
God did not create evil, neither does he do evil, but he allows it for a perfect purpose. My biggest problem with the doctrine of divine decrees is that it leaves one with a false impression of God. When you read passages such as Isaiah 45:7, it is hard to fathom how God could be both good and evil. Thus you have the "dilemma" that John spoke of. Yet there is no dilemma when you understand that God did not create evil, but he created the devil, who in turn created evil.
The skeptic would then ask; if God foreknows everything, then why create the devil if he knew he would do all this evil. The answer I always get when I study this out is simple, yet profound; God gives mankind a free will to choose. What good is free will if there is nothing to choose from? Think about it...if Adam had nothing to choose from, would he have loved God freely? If God forced us to love him, is that really love? Adam was given a choice, that he might exercise the free will that God gave him. So when John says that there is nothing that we can do at the point of salvation, he misses the crucial point that we play in the salvation process...we believe. We willfully surrender our plans and intentions, and ask the Lord to take complete control of our life. This is what surrendering to Christ is all about. This is what Romans 10 is about...saying yes when God calls.
This is why I teach that we can understand scripture, and that it is not a paradox. Just because God knows what you will do, that does not imply that he made you do it. The Bible allows us to see things as God sees them. Did God make Pharaoh resist his will or did Pharaoh harden his own heart? The writers of scripture gave God all the glory by attributing certain decisions to God, when in fact it was man making said decisions under the permissive will of God.
If God creates evil or divinely decreed every act of mankind before the foundation of the world, then you will have to conclude that God is evil. If you say this, you are guilty of the unpardonable sin. If on the other hand, you understand that it was not God doing the evil, but he is watching and allowing the devil to operate, this is the sovereignty of the Almighty. He allows everything to work together, for the purpose of fulfilling his will for his children (Rom. 8:28). There is so much more I can say to expound on this topic. Comments or questions are welcome.
    in Jesus love,
    Pastor Brett

Assigning the (apparently irreconcilable) tension between divine sovereignty (Rom 8&9) and ‘creaturely freedom’ (Rom 10) to the category of ‘mystery’, betrays a misapprehension of the SUBSTANCE of God’s sovereignty, the NATURE of ‘creaturely freedom’ and the ESSENCE of the ‘human will’…
Paul answers this matter in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “The grace of God is made perfect in my weakness”… In other words… God commands, NOT BECAUSE WE CAN (of ourselves), BUT BECAUSE WE CAN’T (of ourselves)! And it is only because God enables us that His glory is magnified and we are denied any reason to boast (which only serves to rob God of His glory)
The (apparent) ‘tension’ is finally defeated when we come understand that, while man indeed possesses a WILL, his will is NOT FREE but enslaved either to the god of this age or to the Spirit of Truth - Rom 6:15-18!
Ultimately, God is God over all (ie He is ABSOLUTELY SOVEREIGN over ABSOLUTELY ALL THINGS - Eph 4:6), INCLUDING THE WILL OF MAN!
