  • An indie throwback dungeon crawler has appeared! I like these kinds of games, so let's take a look at it.

Good takes all around! One note though would be that there is a speech check on the rat, it just doesn't show up unless you have enough points. Additionally, given how short the demo is, I think it's fairly reasonable to expect people, possibly even encourage them, to roll multiple characters to try different things instead of letting you be a one man demi-god that can do everything super cool. IMO that's a BAD thing when ImmSims do that

Oh, for sure, and I probably should have run through a second time with different skills for the sake of fairness. My main gripe, if it even is that, is just that I feel what you can get access to right now isn't the most helpful at seeing what it'll be like later.
And hey, thanks for checking it out!
      edit: whoops a letter

@@RekkinOnTheInternet That's completely fair, and no problem, glad to see more coverage!

I really do hope they make the beginning of the game significantly easier. I mean, hard games certainly have an audience and I'm not arguing it shouldn't have difficulty, but the demo is quite a bit too much for how limited it is. Difficult content shouldn't be so immediate and scale up so quickly. A simple club of bone shouldn't be so much worse than the first wooden one and the sword shouldn't be such a major upgrade over either of those. If the enemies also had stamina and could run out like the player, that could in fact be enough to balance out how fast the player tires out. A blocking build will be completely non-viable if nothing is done about the stamina system.

Yeah, the differences between the weapon tiers was pretty big, and without much of a way to try out different ones at the moment, you kind of just have to hope you picked the one with enough options to keep the damage up.
