    Congratulations one bit of advice, and you’ll find others that agree, don’t just buy ONE more truck- wait until you can put on TWO. It’s trucking and there are always problems if one goes down( and it will sometimes). One truck can’t support two but TWO can support THREE. It was my experience when I was owner operator. Again congratulations and I wish you success.

    Congrats on your newborn. A new baby and a new truck. I new when I watched the video from a year ago when you had to spend 13k on your truck I could tell you felt frustrated and discouraged. I also told myself because of your good karma from the willingness to share and help others your win was coming. Here we are, witnessing your best day. Thanks again for sharing. Good luck... 😂. Not going to blame the dealership because they obviously can't forsee issues that will arise but the two trucks we got were money pit piles of shit.
    Red and black w900... beautiful truck but a week after we got it home, it was pouring oil everywhere. Two months after we replaced the clapped out n14 with a reman, the frame cracked over the front spring hanger. By the third month the power divider and front diff were toast.
    The teal Peterbilt was the same shit, within 6 months the engine dropped liners and on and on. It was the worst year we have had with equipment, thankfully both trucks are long gone. Now we build our own "gliders" in the shop and don't have to worry about 25 yr old equipment to get around ELD and emissions. Again, not blaming OTS, they don't have a crystal ball and the trucks were solid when purchased.

    On the sleeper size, Peterbilt started measuring their sleepers like everyone else. Even though the sleeper is still separate, Peterbilt quit measuring from the front of the sleeper to the rear. Instead they started measuring from the back of the seat to the rear of the sleeper like all the manufacturers do even though their cab/sleepers are all one unit. That’s why the 72 inch is now a 78 inch and their 63 inch is now a 70

      @@dimab8753 ima be real 💯 I have spent my life as a company driver and ran a c-15 cat. She purred and never gave me a hint of trouble. When I made this purchase it was a cat acert. There was a lot of steam coming out of the oil pipe and me having a bad feeling but no experience in blow by or acert asked my salesmen Tim Honaker if that was cause for concern and his response was "no nothing is wrong with it that's how all these motors are (I'm assumed referring to acert) so I trusted him over myself. Am I at fault? Oh hell yeah I shouldn't have stepped into a shark tank bleeding, however this whole stand up great guys persona they're going for is false. 3 months later my engine has got the bottom end done and I'm on the move here and now and if I had to go back I'd probably do it again because I'm sentimental and now she'll always "be my first" so I wouldn't trade her for the world but could I have avoided some headache and heartache, stress and unnecessary bills? Oh yes. If you know your shit by all means step in but if they tell you they'll "take good care of you" be warned on the bright side I've learned a lot of it on the fly. 😂

    • @dimab8753
      @dimab8753 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jessejames8475 Acerts are twin turbos that's why they have much more blowby than single turbo. I got 06 C-15 Acert myself, 915k original miles and it got some blowby too but nothing to worried about, I hope. So you ended up doing inframe or just bottom end?

    • @jessejames8475
      @jessejames8475 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dimab8753 yeah these are all things I'm slowly getting acclimated to, I had Dan white of whites diesel do the bottom end because 150,000 miles prior she'd had the top done. We unfortunately lost our 2007 W9 3 weeks ago to head on collision. We have an opportunity to buy a 2004 Peterbilt 379 for only $42,000 430,000 miles . It’s been freshly repainted custom job it’s gorgeous. It’s also green and white on the outside a little bit different design but similar to the one that you wanted to buy that sold. The engine has been rebuilt. New tires too. The inside is pristine, and this is the cheapest price I’ve found for a truck like this. We’ve been looking for about a week now to buy one one, but it’s a beautiful truck so you would totally recommend this truck then? We’ve always been Kenworth people we can’t pass this by it’s a gorgeous truck for the money, and the engine is just perfect. Everything has checked out. May I ask how much u paid for this one? Be careful with hiring a driver it’s a huge risk for you. We have been owner operators for eight years. That’s why I went and got my license so that we didn’t have to pay a driver to drive the truck anymore and what do you know a year into driving and I get head on by some other idiot truck driver.

      The white and green one drove really well actually. Sounded even better. What kept me with the one I ended up with was simply the paperwork. That one had no maintenance records other than it supposedly had an overhaul 450k miles ago. Where as mine had credible maintenance records for when the engine was overhauled, the two diffs were rebuilt, same with the transmission. If the green and white one had the same level of maintenance records, I probably would’ve ended up with it.

      We bought 2 back in 2017. No mechanical work is performed by the dealer beyond making the truck pass DOT inspection. Paint and chrome is their game, and honestly they are not to blame because they can't forsee problems with the truck a few months down the road. 2 trucks, 2 reman engines, both within 8 months of purchase, the one truck lasted a week on the road before pouring oil out of the block. Toasted power divider and rear diff, cracked frame over the spring hanger... all within 3 months. Sold both and won't do it twice.

I know this, I have $1,000 in their Bank because I never ended up getting the truck I looked at. They told me I could apply it towards the down payment of a future truck within one year's time. I’m sure they do. They also have a lot of good trucks. The thing is they sell a LOT, and they sell a lot of OLD trucks with over a million miles on the chassis. They’re bound to sell some that might not be good. But when I was in, they were currently working with a customer who just bought from them but the turbo blew within a couple days and they worked with him to replace it. So they do try to help if it’s close enough to the time of purchase that something major might happen.

    All the stuff changed transmission differential what kind of driver had it before my old Pete i put over 2 million miles on it,and it still had the original clutch I overhauled it at 950k miles and 1 mil.700k seems like someone didn't take care of it no one but me would drive it except my retired dad would make a load for me once in a while.

    Thank you on video you did of yourself. Happy thoughts about new born baby girl. Sleepless nights coming up. I like the strobes on top of mirror. Better SAFTEY when stopped finding the entry to terminals. My Humble opinion. The 18 speed still love the gearing a trucker wants on hill clime with heavy Loads. Instead of automatic that so meany trucks are going to. I drive a 1500 gallon water Fire Tender. It's a Allison Automatic. I manually shift though the auto range when I drive it. I don't drive it RED lights and SIREN. I just do the drive around for storage from my home to central location at one of the fire station, for DRIVERS. When DNR needs it for wildland FIRE season. We contract it out to DNR with a F-450 brush fast attack rig.
    It shift's to higher rang to quick. I like manual shifting it, get the RPMs, up on the series 92 Detroit. That's just my driving style. Best wishes on your new business adventure.

    I Google when Peterbilt stop making the Dinette sleeper, I think it was 2002 , But I seen a several, 2005 Peterbilts with the Dinette sleepers
    At this Truck Sale lot online
    Ohio Truck Sales
    U probably could order the Dinette sleepers up until 2005 , also call the Bed and Breakfast

    I bought my dream truck a 2001 379XH that C15 475 cat. 10spd that came from Ohio Truck Sales,, and let me say what a great disappointment, my truck went straight into the shop for a state & Federal DOT inspection, 5 months later and over $30,000 dollars later of repairs. I had it on the road last 3 weeks an I'm back in the shop again with a transmission problem, which is costing me another $16,300.00 .... I paid $45,000 for the... make sure you go through truck with a fine brush
