For those interested, this game is already infinitely complex. Within just a few days the community has already made guides for movement, skips, and the like. You can throw yourself at it as just a racing and combat game, or you can turn your bike into a 747 and fly half way across the map. It's perfect for any level of player. However, it's not competitive, at least not yet. It's very clearly trying to emulate that old feel of online games, where everyone is just playing to have fun.
All the way from the fırst videos they shared from the prototypes of this game you could sense the speed of it. It just looks really fun. I really need to play it.
I do hope they have plans to stylize the UI more as they work on the game. Feels like there's some dissonance between the gritty PS1-style visuals and the Arial-looking font that's everywhere
love it so far, definitely needs some tuning, like in racing sections kicks absolutely ruins you immediately to the point where it seems more worth it to die so you can respawn and catch up that way
I nearly had a seizure during that first segment, i'm not even joking... This is completly different from rain world but i applaud the devs for trying something new
I love the atmosphere this game has already you can really see the akira and ghost in a shell influence. I hope more devs move in this direction games like Night Runners, Beta decay, Pseudoregaliia, Va Proxy, Ultrakill, Forever Winter etc etc they wear their inspirations on their sleeve while not being afraid to take their own creative liberties and thats why these small studios are whats rly pushing the industry forward. While AAA studios have fallen into the same cycle Hollywood has been in for god knows how long of recycling IPs only moving on safe run of the mill scripts with the same 10 actors. I get that the main obj for these corporations is profits but how sustainable of a business model do they think this is? Ubisoft has been releasing lukewarm games for over 10 years now and its gotten to the point where they lack even novelty star wars outlaws is mostly positive on steam now but even the good reviews say "wait for sale" "games meh" "too simple for my taste" and I know its not because of a lack of Developer talent at Massive Games I still yearn for more of the Division 1. Its this desperate chasing of trends and profits that almost all of these corporations have pulled these studios into EA ruined the launch of Battlefront 2 with loot boxes but the devs worked hard fixed the greed fueled fun sucking mechanics that made it tank so hard at release and the player count climbed higher than it had ever been just for those devs to get pulled into battlefield 2042 when their was still so much potential for battlefront 2 and now 2042 averages less players than its IPs previous 2 releases.
the problem I have with the game is that it is indeed suitable for playing with friends, but the game's controls are currently really far to be for any player, they seem to be intended for veteran vg players (beyond the jankynes) i wonder if the game is made to be a pvp game or not in reality, it obviously working but it's really where this gameplay could shine the most? i don't know
as fun as the pvp looks i hope they have something akin to time trials. i got good at mk8dx pvp by first grinding time trials on the bus ride to middle and highschool
Never would have guessed these were the rain world folks
Just wanted to comment the same thing :D
idk it makes a lot of sense. Its got the same obsession with grungy old sprawling cities that have no business being as large as they are.
@@buzzy4227 and a lot of procedural animations and stuff
this games simply everything people from 2000s have wanted since racing combat an hover driving games started barely coming out
I wasn't expecting such a multiplayer focus from this game! Still looks fun! The art style alone has me sold lol
Oh, shit, they got the Big, Long-ass pipe from Akira? Let's go.

Yooo someone mentioned the guide!!!
I think this was a great summary of the game! I'm also having a lot of fun with the beta and I think this game has a ton of potential.

I'm so hyped for this game, glad to see that they also put a huge focus on gameplay while off the bike as well
Me carefully looking through the fight footage to see if im in there
I've been having a blast with this so far, loving the chaos
i've been playing it all day and its been so much fun. people are already cracked, i saw someone doing backflips, its hell and its great.
Exactly. Just a pure blitz of great chaotic vibes. And it's beautiful too tbh
its like rain world out there

Pretty sure they did mention that all that stuff is placeholder for now
dont worry, UI will look tight eventually. These guys made rain world after all
Reminds me of Akira and the biker gang fights.
This looks awesome!
love it so far, definitely needs some tuning, like in racing sections kicks absolutely ruins you immediately to the point where it seems more worth it to die so you can respawn and catch up that way
Does it have procedural animation
Jet Moto meets Road Rash? I'm in.
Hell yeah!!!!
That aesthetic is really something!
Is it possible to tune it? Like, can the "interlaced" filter be turned off?
for the first beta, there isnt any options atm, but i think there will be in the final release
got it wishlisted
I nearly had a seizure during that first segment, i'm not even joking... This is completly different from rain world but i applaud the devs for trying something new
I will look into adding a warning for this asap!!
Yeah i also feel like i should say something in the server if thats true

Cool
Any devs see this , turn down the contrast of the color flashes , It will prevent seizures.
Twisted JetMoto
I think this would be great for LAN. You could get a big discord gaming session going
Would be perfect for that! This game is gonna be such a hit when it comes out
Nocaps, have you talked about Abyss X Zero?
No, but it is already on my wishlist!
the game looks cool aesthetically but i have no idea what it is trying to do
This looks wild 😂

Futuristic Road Rush. It's just a pity that the game is multiplayer-oriented.
I was hesitant about the pvp thing too, but the community has been great so far
in the mean time people should check out the old Rocket Jockey, it's an excellent game.
That looks amazing
