Brockwood Park 1979 - Question #6 from Question and Answer Meeting #2
'I have tried all kinds of meditation, fasting and a voluntary solitary life, but it has come to nothing. Is there one thing or one quality that will end my seeking and my confusion, and if there is what am I to do?'
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

This sage exemplified for us what ego-less, simple and attentive life is. Tirelessly teaching more than half a century over our globe, sitting humbly on a low platform till literally the day he died. What love, what wisdom to show us meditation in movement NOW. Understanding him means living like him, let lights within each one of us shine. Thanks K and friends.

"Nothing matters... really" said Krishnamurti once.
When this thought has become a truth for your mind, then you can start to free yourself... from yourself, your illusional Ego.
And then compassion can arise and occupy your heart, not your brain.
    I love this guy...

Gautama went thru seven years of extreme physical and mental trauma to get to know THE Truth. Finally when he was emaciated physically and mentally he totally gave up even that one attachment he had - the desire to know. It was at that moment he became the TRUTH himself and emerged as the Buddha.

Nope you have then become the one who has no desire. Still you are left, living in duality. Having no identity is the goal. But then you become the one having no identity. Has it any end? 😂
The one who wants to achieve something or reach somewhere by giving up the desire resides in you. He is the culprit. Catch him. But who will then catch him, you? 😂

I think I partially do. Was seeking answers since teenage years. So called Truth. Studied east and west philosophy, literature, world religions. Practiced meditations, fasting, solitude. Changed cities, jobs, professions, relationships. I look with sadness on my book shelf with 200+ books and all I did. To travel all these roads to find nothing.

If I could perhaps place a perspective. You did not search to find nothing. You found in the nothing that all you found was just events and experiences born of ideas that transpired during the course of your lifetime. Time is an illusion, all is one present moment, but in that singular present moment you did not experience just ephemeral happenings, you were both a birth giver, vessel for, and conscious witness to those events happening. The stage, and the drama, and the silent space through which light and sound and ideal and form passionately danced and played and sung and spun a story upon. It wasnt just a "nothing" the beautiful speaker was getting at. He often said "i wonder if anyone sees this," or "see for yourself," one cannot make assumptions of his intent, if there was any. However applying his talks to observations in my own life, i found my experience not to be one of empty space at the end of all things, but the very space in which all things had potential to transpire. And that my friend is also you. The emptyness is just another name the mind labels over an experience being perceived, but it is at that point upon perceiving that thought for what it is, that the perspective changes and you find the truth in not needing it. Cuz you are it. The thought then becomes simply an interpretation of perspective, nothing more nothing less. But bellow that. Not emptyness. Spaciousness. Infinitude. Boundlessness. Gravity, love, light, space. faster than what mind can perceive and form words or thought from. Quicker than mind can make an image from. Infinite now. The bedrock of reality. This moment. Its all anything really is honestly. No matter big or small. Quite humbling to know even the galaxy itself is but a flake of dust no bigger then your hand is in comparison to the moon. Yet here and now they both exist, regardless of time, ideal, belief or boundary, here they are, both occupying infinite space. Consciousness. You, me, K, the all. Its very big, and simultaniously the last place you'd think to look. Behind your eyes, behind your mind, behind the very state of matter and form. Bound by nothing, yet like gravity holds things in a delicate balance perfect and paradoxical enough to allow all things to coincide and all potentiality to transpire in one ephemeral moment. A happening. These of course are just words. The real deal, a thousand books and a million religions upon every planet could probably not even begin to account that infinite space. So you say all you have is now. You need your perspective to take a little time to bring that into focus.
In the now, you have all.🤙 much love brother.

The questioner did many things like fasting, meditating etc..It did not make him free because the 'me' was operating during all those years of doing things with a motive. K is asking him to drop that 'me' which is seeking. Dropping of 'me' is compassion. But 'me' cannot drop itself. Compassion does not come by wishing to have compassion. But when the futility of doing many different activities is seen clearly, freedom and compassion comes. K is a powerful speaker and very demanding - demanding freedom at the beginning.

The caliber of the kind of knowledge he tries to translate unfortunately will only resonate to those who have an intuitive grasp of what he talk about and who have reflected a great deal already. Even such people will likely not need to listen specifically because it is already understood. Also, for the other kinds of people who don’t really understand what is being said, this won’t resonate much. In brief, his ‘absolute’ approach on things will only resonate to very few people, whom only even a portion of these people, it will actually be the right words at the right time. Most of those who have sufficiently reflected won’t need to listen, again. Unfortunately, as a result, I believe his extremely valuable speeches are rarely received properly by people. This is why I think it is more important to have a relative approach and variate between different calibers of subjects to target a much higher number of people.

'higher number of people' you say.
You are right, but keep in mind that when quantity is primary, quality suffers. At least in our dualistic world.
I personally got really tired of all those people holding back and and Not even knowing further beyond, out of fear to meet their TRUE self(and with "TRUE" I don't mean this wishy-washy positive Emotion-Talk you always see in common media).
So his teachings, for me, came then when they had to. Always remember that the guy is literally timeless, so people will discover him when they are ready.

Having compassion equates to intelligence and there is always a right vs wrong way to handle every circumstance we are faced with. that is how i summed it up.

When K. says don't seek it flies in the face of what we have been doing. Now if this is meditated on, sensed with total commitment with eyelids closed, waiting and waiting for brain response it will be discovered there is silence. This silence is the subsidence of seeking. In this, brain has momentarily stopped searching as brain has no solution. It is this state being that is freedom.

Questions will arise till people try to experience the idea of oneness rather experience itself. In the name of content, better visuals people make fancy videos of Chakras and all things. That is enough to give you and idea how it feels, not actual experience which so unique to you.

    1. Do not seek: If you seek, you will only find what you have already projected, reinforcing your illusions. A wise person doesn't seek.
    2. Be free from attachment: One must be free from all attachments, including those to body, beliefs, opinions, and people.
    3. Be free from psychological fear: Psychological fear, rooted in time and anticipation, must end. Deal with physical fear as it arises, but free the mind from psychological fear.
    4. Be free from sorrow: Understanding the nature of sorrow leads to freedom from it, without becoming indifferent.
    5. Compassion: When there is total freedom from attachment, fear, and sorrow, compassion arises. Compassion, born out of intelligence, guides right action in all circumstances.
True right action, stemming from compassion and intelligence, is precise and unwavering, transcending culture and time.
