Never fill to 100 percent. You have to leave room for thermal expansion of the liquid, otherwise it can open the security valv or even burst.Neither is fun in a car....
@2cthetruth I am sorry I comment so terrible. I went back and reread what I typed. I don't have a clue how to make a video but I can email or send a message of pictures. I will explain WHY I do a couple of steps. GREEN COLEMAN BOTTLES. I don't bother with chilling bottles I solder copper pipes when they go empty I don't horse around with rip off adapters. I set my torch bottle (1lb coleman) up to make a safe, fast refill of propane LIQUID. I don't like venting the bottle by opening the pressure relief Schrader valve.. Why..? There spring loaded and they are ment to open automatically at a pressure way before they explode. If you work the spring it gets weaker, dirt in the valve seat, it might leak. That's why never drill the hole, and never use a torch to solder the SAE SERVICE port. On the top of the bottle opposite side of the Pres. Relief sand a quarter size spot roughly the same distance as the Pres relief. Using the strongest solder ( HARRIS "BRIDGE IT") use that solder and " Sal Ammoniac" or "Ammonium Chloride" welding supply or Amazon it comes in block or salt like. (if you tin copper cookware this is what you want to use with 100% tin). Take a ballpeen hammer put the ball on the bare metal and use another hammer and hit the B. P. And make a dent. WHY...? you are going to tin the spot with Bridgeit solder before you punch the hole. Amazon has the refrigeration service ports ie. You thread your gauge hoses on same 1/4" thread 45° SAE / with a 1/8" copper tubing that will go into the bottle, use a sharp ice pick to make a tight fit for the 1/8" copper tube. Remove the Schrader valve from the brass part of the adapter tin the bottom of the adapter brass .. The dent is giving you a lower profile and it lets the service port not hang out over the outside of the bottle as much. I use mine for torches so give yourself enough room to screw on the bottle whatever you use it for. Use a electric 35 watt soldering iron to solder since you used the Bridge it to tin ( when I say tin I mean just the shine that is like the primer,) snug fit copper tube in bottle. WHY..? WHEN you solder the thing in your going to use one shake of salt except it will be ammonium chloride Put your electric iron on the dent "soak it" (hold the tip on it until it flows it will not melt into the bottle. The puddle of bridge it will be chrome shiny. Put a wet piece of cloth around the bottle outlet. The outlet will be your vent now. Charge liquid through a refrigeration charging hose. When you screw the hose on it opens the service ports Schrader and when you get finish it will close. When you charge put a torch on the bottle and turn it on slightly and it will fill up for real. This is how and why. This is easy Amazon has all the stuff. Message 8dfg1dgh8 6gj3sg2kdyoxh0dg55xh6
That tank camped out a lot , it has years of refilling . I'm surprised that the valves are still holding to be honest , the rust on the tanks is not the issue is the rubber seals on the valves you should be worried about

It may be good advice, but when I saw that rusty old tank, you lost my confidence in you.

Ok. Bye Larry. Go waste your money
The green cans are not safe to refill, there are other tanks out on the market that are safe to fill.
@@dadadit nothing is safe my friend
Name one instance of a failure. You can’t, so stfu.

danger alert. there is another video explaining about deaths due to explosion while refilling. at the least pls don't use old dented cans.
You can be sure this bloke has never done a gas safety course as he obviously knows nothing about the safe fill limit or why it's important!
Did you have some important information to share with everyone?
Weigh the tank first than fill it with one pound of LP
