i'm currently living the unemployed "life after college" struggle and it was hard for the first year and even now but i know within time things will work out, someway somehow! but i do owe it to myself to take this "time" off after all those years of school, even though it makes me feel SO guilty for being like.. useless LOL. but thank you for sharing always!!
I relate to this so much. I'm currently in the same situation as you. I hate the feeling of being useless while looking for a job, and with the recession from the virus, it's gonna be tough. But this video has given me lots of motivation that things will work out!
Being a fresh grad must be scary, especially with the recession. My college freshman heart goes out to you guys who are struggling in the job market. Don't let these times prevent you from stacking your resume. Stay on the grind!
Woow I definitely needed this! I am finishing my last exam of undergrad tomorrow and will be a a fresh graduate tomorrow! Thank you for this! I'm also looking for a job right now and it's definitely harder especially with what's going on but staying optimistic and working on my resume and cover letter and still applying!
Your post grad experience resonated so much with me !! I also felt “less than” when graduating... couldn’t find a job in what I wanted and ended up settling for income. And all my friends were working big 4 firm jobs. A couple years later - also did an additional post grad program to increase my hireability and finally got the job I always wanted in technology as an analyst.
Definitely needed to hear everything you said in this video... I graduated last May & have been feeling so hopeless because I have yet to find a “real” job, while most of my friends seem really set in their career paths already. Thank you for reminding me of the fact that everyone’s journey is different 💕

Yeah it was tough getting used to work life schedule~~ So true abound finding a highlight each day! I like writing three highlights of the day in my planner, always so exciting!
I really appreciate this video. I'm almost 4 months out of college, and had an internship discontinue due to COVID-19. Job hunting is quite frankly scary right now but I am thankful that I am in a position where I am financially okay that finding a job right now isn't the biggest deal. This video and the comments help a lot with my waves of post-grad anxieties
Really hit home here (just subscribed!), it took looking for 9 months while working retail to find an actual job in the field I wanted to be in. You really start to compare yourself to others and feel not as successful. If you’re in a similar place, I feel for y’all and I know the opportunity will come, just be patient and tenacious!
It's eye-opening to hear that you also needed some time to grow into your field of career; as someone who has discovered about PR post-grad (& extremely attracted to it), I assumed it's a field young grads feel prideful of. Currently going through another career path, but I enjoy watching your video and listening to your experiences. Thanks for great contents!
Hey Kristina, you might not see this but I must let you know that you are my inspiration and role model. Your videos got me through my postgrad studies and now my career. Thank YOU so so much. Stay safe and take care!
Totally agree with all of this as a fresh grad! It definitely took me a while to find what I wanted to do and grateful for the challenges and denied applications that got me here :-) After the final round of interviews for a company that I thought I wanted to be a graphic design intern for, I got denied. And honestly, if I did end up getting an offer, I would have never gotten the apprenticeship (that I have now) and another internship that aligns with the career I really wanted to pursue - Product Design! Also, a fellow bear 🐻over here; go bears~
Thank you for this video! It's really hard to get yourself to not compare yourself to others when society and parents make you do so, so thanks for being the unique voice that helps us understand that's not the case :)
I graduated a long long time ago from college with a degree in accounting and even with that I was still unsure of how to go about it. I didn't have a job out of college but took a temp job at the college I was attending within the department that I worked at while I was still going to school. It wasn't a job in my field of study but it was something to keep me afloat while trying to figure out my next move. Luckily I saved most of my paycheck since I lived at home while in college and had plenty of time to apply for jobs and eventually found my first official accounting job. For me it took some time but eventually everything worked out and I was able to find out what interests I liked more and the path I wanted my life to take.
Hi, I am an accounting major myself and while I still have 2 years or so left, I already feel anxious about post grad! May I ask how you’re doing now and if you’re pursuing the CPA designation? (I still can’t tell whether that’s what I really want to achieve later)
@@kharla.97 with the pandemic now I've been laid off and now in the process of looking for something new. I didn't pursue a CPA because I knew it wasn't the path I wanted at the time. It is up to you if you do want to pursue a CPA. If you do I would advise that you do so right after you graduate from school because a lot of the test is based on what you learned in school. My niece recently passed her CPA exam and I'm really proud of her. She just recently landed a job in Boston. Also having a CPA do give you a leg up as a job candidate because most companies always list this as a preferred qualification. It is up to you what you want to do and sometimes the road you take may not be the right one but eventually it will lead you to something that you will love to do. Best of luck!
As 4th year going into a 5th year at Cal (go bears! 🐻) I've been so anxious trying to find a job, especially in a time like this. I'm hoping to find a job that will help me fund grad school. It's nice to see the steps you have taken and the things you have accomplished. It's really inspiring. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing!
Hi! Kristina, its good to see you here. Thank you for sharing this insight especially, the second half of this video, about learning so much about yourself as you mentioned and trying different works. Also, experience combined with whatever jobs we do, can eventually land a job you are looking for, its a process. I have some question regarding a Career Path? I need your advice? I did my degree in Fashion Design. I am in the Retail Sales. Its been 3+ Years in the field. I have liked talking and interacting with customers, helping them and enjoyed discounts. I am looking for a career change & growth. I like traveling, meeting new people, interacting with them and helping people. I can't do 9-5 cubicle jobs, I am more free-spirited person who enjoys travel plus work. I think that also has brought me to your channel, the travel part of your life-style looks very interesting. I look forward hearing you soon. Thanks, have a good day!
been loving these videos about career/late college! im a rising junior in college rn and ive been feeling kind of lost since the first two years i really just spent it finding my interests and not rly thinking about career stuff or life after college. do you have any tips on how to narrow down a career focus or any general tips on what i should do differently this coming year? my grades are decent but i have virtually no extracurriculars or idea of what to do after college. consulting sounds appealing to me since i like being analytical but also creative. thanks!
I'm currently doing an internship abroad, but still didn't find passion to shine my future career. So I'm wondering what's your passion and what made you keep motivated. That would be very helpful if you upload a video about how to find passion.
i feel like i'm still in the process of searching, but i have a q&a video on why i love my job, a video on what change management consulting is, and a video on how i switched careers that might give you some more insight!
Hi need some advice . I was meant to join a big 4 consulting firm but they delayed my joining by 6 months . I'm currently out of previous employment and it happened last moment, now I'm stuck away from home without a salary . What do I do ? Please advice ?
i'm sorry that happened to you! if you're worried about how to make money, @wanderonwards (I follow her on Instagram) has posted some content about different ways to earn money remotely. if you're also worried about just having things to do, maybe taking some courses on a site like Coursera or Skillshare would be a good idea!
I'm a fresh grad as well! I had my last paper last week Thursday and I've been extremely worried about everything go on. I hear a lot of people say "work on your resume", but how can we do this if we aren't given any opportunities, especially during the pandemic? Any tips of "stacking the resume" during this time?
I think you can always work on your resume to tailor it to different jobs (if you don’t have one lined up). I suggested this in another comment, but maybe doing some courses on a site like coursera or skillshare could help? Or even if it’s not stacking your resume, you could still FaceTime/connect with people in your network!
Hi I just wanna say I admire your content and you as a person. If it's okay could I have the permission to use some of what you said in my seminar essay about life after college? I will properly credit you and your work in the appendix xD they are very helpful and I intend to use them for my advising paragraph
Well I'll be a first I think 😂 😂 thanks a bunchhhhh you're very inspiring. I actually felt really down earlier today about my future and when you uploaded this video I was like... lifeline.

It is 😓
the quote "Comparison is the thief of joy" is one of the most resonating things i have ever heard.
As a 2019 grad/english major/intern living @ home lol, this was all SO SO nice to hear. Thanks for sharing your wisdom🥰

Just found your channel through this video and really loved the advice you gave to post-grads (as a recent 2020 grad). Subbed!
Thank you so much Kchoi! This is really what I need right now. Have more confidence and strength to embrace the challenges!
