I used to freeze my fillets in a large ziplock bag encased in water that becomes ice encased. Worked great, no freezer burn. One of the best fishing channels on TH-cam.
I used to fish the streams around my house with size O or 1 vibric lures in the 80’s and 90’s. They are excellent lures. I teamed up with a fly rod, two pound test, and a Shimano 100 series fishing real. That combo lets you cast an extremely light lure to good distances, and it works with live bait too.Caught so many war mouth, small mouth, large mouth bass, and plenty of bluegills. Great times. EDIT: they were inline spinners like the mepps. The ones with a little hair worked the best. Thanks for reminding me of those days. Walking up the streams with my best friend catching fish. 🙏🏻
Hi Roger great stuff as usual ❤❤❤❤I'm from SA and one thing my late mum and dad thawt me about Tailer or shad as we call it...you can leave the whole shad without gutting and scaling it for months..even try not waking it with tap water...This way Helps keep shad fresh for months plus no frost burns to flesh cos scales and fish being intact prevents any damage to them...I must say though this method can only be done for few fish but not for smaller fragile fish which gets mushy after few days in freezer❤❤❤❤❤
Roger, I know you are pretty new to fishing so here goes. There are somethings called waders and something called gum boots!! I getting cold just watching you. I'll be getting some vibes next time at BCF or Anaconda. We have a new sand bank at Jumpinpin where id drops off from 0.5 m to 4 metres in a matter of feet. There are plenty of flathead there. Thanks for the good tips.
Hello there Roger... just wanted to say thank you for your videos I am a new subscriber and really loving the videos... very helpful how you take the time to explain things much appreciated.. keepnit up
Hi Roger - really enjoy your videos with tips and I learn such a lot. Just a question , in this video you called the water a Lake - is it close to the estuary? Thanks again.
Hey roger, two days ago i caught a 65 cm flathead, in a lake 5 meters from a jetty, it was my first flathead ive ever caught, it definitely was a treat for me
Hey Rodger, I vacuum seal my Salmon too and even after a few months they taste as good as being freshly caught. I am actually trying a new method with some fresh Salmon. I've coated them with a garlic and herb seasoning and vacuum sealed them. I wish i could send you a pic!
Roger Just a funny episode with a pelican. I was fishing on the sandy bank of Sth Stradbroke and a pelican came and stood, say, 6'3" from me. I was feeding it fish and we were best mates. I decided to get 5ft from it and it went beserk. I smacked it's beak with my rod and it flew off, did a circle and came back and stood 6'3" from me and we became best friends again. 6' was not on!!
Hello roger I love your videos and I’m at the age now to find a job and I want one where I can find time to fish alot too my question to you is what sort of job do you do to get a better idea of some things to try would be cool to work in the fishing industry I’m lost tbh anyway your fishing really helps me catch fish and use different techniques to catch fish love it 🤙🏼
In Denmark (Europe) we would use a pair of lightweight waders for wading. Keeps you dry and warm. And a pair of pliers for unhooking the fish. Much easier and faster. Cheers mate.
That's an impressive three-species performance for a lure in the middle of winter, Roger! How open/closed is the lake in question? Is the water full-on salt or just brackish?
All the old timers bleed out their tailor immediately. I saw you brainspiked yours. Could you address this prickly subject please? A very handy tip on the freezing of tailor there I did not know about! Thank you!
@@RogerOsborneFishing And whilst you're on the touchy subject , could you include karate chopping squid? I had never heard of this before I watched other videos from Sydney way.
Hi , can you tell me what rods you used here ? , I noticed they don’t have the exposed blank on the butt section , are they older models or still available , thanks.
Awesome video. I love all your stuff but really enjoying your lake/lagoon/estuary type videos atm. THANKS ROGER! P.S. Have you ever pulled worms at Dee Why?
Thanks again Roger, you are number one for instructional video's. Though it is a sticky subject, can you do a video on humanely killing your catch? I think that everyone would appreciate not having their catch suffer for prolonged periods.
The funny thing is that is winter here in Brazil either and here is also the taylor's season. Taylor here is called "anchova". And it's a pretty yummy fish, specially grilled like barbecue. Roger, have you ever eaten like this? 20:25
What I have found with the pelicans is to wave one hand at them and give out a loud shoo sound, every time they motor close to you, works, enjoying the videos, giving likes, cheers.
@RogerOsborneFishing sounds like rogue individual, looked into things available. My suggestion, have bright silver reflective bushy tassel say,and small bell(s) on long length old narrow rod handy, wave it at to repel/educate,pain,but should work quickly and well.Cheers, happy ongoing adventures.
@@newto4361 There is a video of a very hungry pelican actually trying to eat a sea eagle. Actually, totally engulfed the sea eagle in its mouth to the great surprise of the eagle. But then the eagke put its talons to work and escaped .
That’s what it’s like for the majority of us fishos who work a day job and have a hand full of children sneak for a hour here and there. Thanks very informative.
Hello Roger, from Perth, WA. I am a subscriber, but rate myself as the world's worst or luckless, quasi fisherman ever but I love watching and learning from your program. I know nothing of the Eastern States and wonder if this lake is it salt of brackish water and is its' location close to the coast?
Just to clear up a fraction of confusion for people who have never been to Australia. He says "Lake" but it is almost certainly what everyone else calls a lagoon. 90% of the time on the entire East coast of Australia a "lake" is open to the sea, and is directly behind the coastal dunes for at least part of its length. NSW has hundreds of them, most streams end in a "Lake".
I love your videos you're not enjoying like every other fishing expert can't wait to get to the coast you give me hope and maybe I can stop singing here fishy fishy 🤣😂
Roger - your videos have changed my fishing life…finally catching!! Thank you from myself and my two boys!! Keep it up mate!
Thanks Ben, that is awesome!
Can we all just appreciate how good this bloke is!

Vibes are really popular where I fish! Have yet to try them in the winter so I'm glad to see it works well in winter!

Hahaha I saw that too, went to the comments section to find this 😂
what a beautiful place. no ppl, no motorboats. thanks for showing Roger 🎣💪
There are 1000's of fishing videos here on TH-cam but yours are my favourite. Also the spots in your country are heaven.

Shimano Evair Water Shoes, you can only buy them online

I use waders in winter in Oz all the time - agreed, warmer and more comfy - especially in the bay where I live.

The lake is always open, so fully tidal.
do u reckon a squidtrex vibe will work

Gday Roger. I have to ask, mate have you ever found yourself on the Central Coast NSW, and fished the waters in this area?
Hi Mick, my brother lives on the Central Coast but I have not spent any time fishing there. He has a waterfront property on Tuggerah Lake

Pink bream in SA, we don’t catch snapper ;)
OMG, This fishing tutorial was great, fish just keep jumping into the boat now.
Glad you enjoyed it
Where can I purchase the vibe love your videos
Just google Vibelicious 70mm pearl white
What lakes have snapper in Australia
looks like the lure works great
It does!
What is the lake called?
Burrill Lake
I love your videos you're not enjoying like every other fishing expert can't wait to get to the coast you give me hope and maybe I can stop singing here fishy fishy 🤣😂
Nice pinky
Sure showing Commitment to wade in the water with bare legs and feet, great catches
Winter is way better here in SA. More fish about. Less people fishing.
Meant to say after washing fish at beach try avoid washing fish with fresh water at home till you ready to cook or fry them once outta freezer ❤❤
Gods creation is there to be enjoyed
Yes. We're a God creation. And also His son, if we accept His son Jesus Christ.
God's creation ❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Buy some snowbee waders
Yes, thanks Gary
One word “fruitful” what does that mean for a tailor? 😂
Why not use waders?
Snapper in the lake? 🤣
