@@ristiannarussell4622 I can’t find a perfect body match. She’s a LITTLE bit darker than plain white and a little lighter than the next deep shade (like TM120). I'm so glad Maplelea finally made the hat for SAILA again. I've been waiting and waiting (should be here any day now). Now I have all of her clothes. Now I am hoping they would rerelease her dog.
@@buffmontana4203 I can’t wait for you try it on her and see it in person! It really surprised me.
I’ve wondered about her dog (among other animal friends) because the ones I have of theirs I LOVE
I've wanted Saila since she was first introduced. I find her so charming & beautiful. I want to re-body her with an AG body (as that's the style I prefer) but have no idea which would match. Very handy if it's just the classic light vinyl.
@@ristiannarussell4622 I can’t find a perfect body match. She’s a LITTLE bit darker than plain white and a little lighter than the next deep shade (like TM120). My BeForever Julie seems to be the closest, but if she looked fine next to Tenney in your eyes, that color might work. So far all my Maplelea dolls don’t have a good color match to any AG 💔 However! I have seen other Canadian collectors put Saila on an AG body… wish I asked which one
Hey Dis! It’s me, Sqirl… love your new user picture! ❤
@@BmcC102 awww yay I’m so glad you noticed 🥳🧡
The quality of maplelea clothes is looking better than American girl! I still like the AG doll itself better though. Thanks for showing what the maplelea clothes look like on AG. It’s helpful for purchasing decisions!
@@NightwingAquaman I love the clothes so much! I think I’ve been forcing myself in a way to like *some* of the dolls just so I can support a Canadian brand. But il continue to buy the clothes and show them on AG (another vid in the next couple weeks in fact)
Yayyy! You got Saila! Congratulations Blaine 🙂
@@ellaella9230 I can’t believe I kept her in that shipping box for 2 weeks 😝🤣
@@DisBlaine 🤣🤣
Hi I just ordered the doll the second outfit the hat and mitts and the orange tee shirt my birthday gift from me to me now can’t wait for it to arrive ❤I ordered before price goes up it was 208.00 for the 4 items from my birthday money thank you so much for the review ❤
@@nildajurado8423 is that $208 USD or CAD? I’m suprised it hasn’t gone up yet since the email said end of September. I assume your bday has passed, so happy belated 🥳
@@DisBlaine Canada money it was 154.22 American I think it’s great price for the 4 items
@@DisBlaine that’s why I ordered it today is end of September so tomorrow Oct 1st maybe goes up right
I’m going to place a Maplelea order soon, and I’m so excited! I really want Brianne’s meet outfit, but can’t bring myself to buy the doll to get it.
@@ThoughtsArrive if you’re going by my scary Brianne doll, rest assured she’s old and faded and the new dolls don’t look like that. But if you don’t like the look of the new version either… maybe you could give her to a child? lol I won’t even do that to a kid with my Brianne. But she’s grown on me in a funny way anyhow
@@DisBlaine lol no, your doll didn’t scare me off. I think it’s exactly what you said in this video-the sculpts have so much detail that they can look like Marionettes, and I think Brianne is the worst offender of that. I just really love her meet outfit!
That looks like a really nice journal that comes with the doll
@@tluderman77 now that you mention it, maybe it’s too nice 😅 They can’t be cheap to produce, so maybe the dolls could be cheaper without it lol. But I’m sure it’s nice for collectors who love having so many details
@@DisBlaineMy Saila that I got in 2019 or 2020 came with a plastic, almost vinyl cover. I like yours better. It looks like really nice quality. Do read her journal. It gives so much info on her life.
Saile is the only Maplelea doll I like, now where you mention it, I think you have something with the marionette comment, but I do try to collect Indigenous/NA dolls when I can, it is part of my heritage. I have been meaning to get her but every time I wanted to, she was out of stock and then there is my granddaughter... and my AG collection.
Thank you for giving an explanation on Orange shirt day, so everyone can understand; the whole concept of the/both government(s) was horrendous. I don't know if your residential schools were under the war department in the beginning, they were here in the US and then the different churches. I always leave out offerings for those who no one could mourn, poor little ones.
@@dakotatwilight Saila is definitely the most palatable ML doll. A couple others have grown on me… but it took years! And yes, trying to squeeze in something new when AG is constantly coming out with stuff is HARD! I can’t imagine also buying for grandkids!
In Canada the res schools seemed to be more a church / government thing, I never read anything about the war. Military isn’t as prominent in Canada tho, so that could be a factor
I dont know where my first comment went awh man, that sucks!!
Anyways, i really enjoyed this video . We have been celebrating over my side with my Saila also. Inuktituk and inuinnaqtun are the two indigenous language the Inuit people still speak today. 🌼🌈🧡🍁🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦

Anyway lol!
It’s nice to hear others are observing the day with their dolls. I promise I knew the language when I was in school and I had read it on the ML site when I ordered-but my brain panicked when I was recording, so there’s no way I would’ve remembered. So embarrassing ugh!
🧡🧡🧡
@DisBlaine thanks! Yeah, the little things that make us say 'uuugghhh' 🌼🌈🧡🤣
This was fun❤❤❤
@@patriciasdollydreamz6569 that’s good to hear! I was honestly worried this one might be too serious. 🥳
Hi Patricia, I see we both love to watch Blaine and his beautiful dolls . So cool eh . Nice to see you over here 😍🌼🌈🧡🙋🏻♀️
The Saila doll looks different she is the only one i wanted. I may actually get her on their next sale. I wanted her to add to my collection of Kaya dolls. The outfits are really nice. I wish I had ordered before but i really wait for a sale now.
@@nailahvenable7989 her entire collection is wonderful! But it was too expensive to grab all at once, so maybe I’ll wait for a sale too to catch the rest.
I feel like Saila fits with Corrinne's world! She and (I think her name is) Violet would welcome Saila to ski with them. Now I'm storyboarding, lol
Mia fits in with them too-so I’m currently seeing her and Saila as BFFs, so work her into your story 😁
@@DisBlaine oooh, okay, I will do that! All kinds of ideas
I just scored a gorgeous 6’x5’ dollhouse loaded with everything in every room (plus a fold out wardrobe stuffed with clothes and shoes) for my grandkids’ playroom here at my house. Now I need to decide on 18” dolls. So I’m rewatching your videos lols! I intend to get them second hand, mostly, and I’m in the GTA, so everything is available on Marketplace. I haven’t handled any dolls, excepting My Life which I’ve ruled out. I’d love to know your recommendations for what will be “played with” dolls. I like American Girl, but are they really worth the price? I almost like OG more, and are Maplelea dolls as ugly as they look online? lol. Even the one you opened today doesn’t really compare to the one in white. Or maybe I’m just blown away by the outfit on her? The clothes you opened were impressive. Loved this upload. The indigenous dolls are stunning.
@@alijane6675 oh that’ll be a lot of fun!
Hmmm if you don’t like Saila, Maplelea probably isn’t for you. She’s the best they have to offer tbh.
You can find used American girls in a wide range of prices. If they’re the ones you’re “used to”, yes I’d say they’re worth it. They had to grow on me but I do feel a certain charm from them I don’t see with other 18” dolls.
@@alijane6675 oh and join Facebook groups. There are always dolls for sale there!
Are the socks, boot liners? Thanks for reviewing. I have been admiring Saila for a while. Maplelea’s clothing and accessories look outstanding.
@@rebeccawood1993 they could be called that. The Maplelea site refers to them as embroidered felt socks. They’re more fleecy than felty.
@@DisBlaine Thank you. I was comparing to my Kamiks.
@@rebeccawood1993 is your lining more on the furry side? I think these are supposed to be duffle socks (but they’re fleece instead of wool because of the scale). They look like duffles at least.
Thanks so much for sharing! She is super cute....and i think you are spot on with the marionette dolls 😅 im wondering if you have bought the Ukranian dance outfit from Maplelea? I am thinking about it for my mini-me (im Polish, but it's close enough lol) but im curious about fit and staining.
@@FixMyAGDoll I’ve been tempted by that outift because it makes me think of it’s a small world (my favorite Disney ride) but it’s low on my list with so many things I want 🥴
However it looks like to would be a great fit on AG and the garments that would touch the doll are white, so I can’t imagine anything would stain. I might put tights or socks under the boots. I had red shoes stain my doll
Are you left handed?
@@Starcatcher355 haha yes, I mention it a lot but I assume you could tell when I opened the box?
@@DisBlaine yes lol
Did anyone else's Saila smell bad when they took her out of the box? Especially her hair?
@@HadaDeDientes oh no, smell had like what? My Saila just smells like plastic, the same as any doll
@@DisBlaine It's hard to describe. It was like a chemical musk.

@@ledstoke oh wow, I’m glad I was the first to share it with you! I’ve talked about it before but only in fragments. I guess I was waiting for the actual day to get into it properly 🤓)
@@DisBlaine you talked about it in your last video so I googled it. It made me sad that it was as resent as 1996! Not just something that was going on “in the olden days”. You’re right, here in America we have our parts of history that are sad too. As always, I learn something new from you with each of your videos- thanks so much.
