It’s like a mystery treasure hunt, where I get to see what the Universe sends my way. I would absolutely do the same thing you did. If a business doesn’t appreciate me, they don’t get my money. I love listening to you talk about your dolls, any kind of doll. Your excitement and passion always come through. I’m excited to see what this new chapter will bring. I know other Canadians that have very mixed feelings about AG because of this attitude they have about the rewards program. It’s been ongoing from when they started it. Everything about the rewards creates an us vs. them mentality with the different tiers. I don’t think anyone can figure out how they reward points with all the crazy ways they do things. I gave up on buying AG after the while Etsy blowup. I caved and bought a couple mix and match items from them in December and I want Moana this year. It does make it hard to enjoy new things because I feel guilty for buying them. It doesn’t affect how I feel about the dolls I already own, so hopefully it won’t affect your feelings either. There are many ways to enjoy what you have. Spend some money supporting independent small Etsy businesses. They’ll appreciate your business more than AG ever will.

As an american, I am appalled at the way they treated you. While I originally came across your channel for an AG unboxing, I subscribed for your personality. I often play your videos while I draw, so what doll brands you posted about never mattered to me. I just loved hearing your stories and passion for things. If ordering from Ag doesn't make you feel as happy now, then don't. Don't feel pressured to, even if a lot of your fans want you to. I'm looking forward to more Maplea, Tiana, or whatever you want to post about.

Honey, that AG has torn their drawers with me on a couple of occasions and I have stopped shopping with them. Since watching your channel you have reignited my interest in their new products. But really I only buy new when AG has a sale. With the state of the economy and changes in our US leadership I’m looking to keep more of my money in my pocket. I tend to buy more on the secondary market and Etsy. I’m with you and don’t have a problem leaving optional items behind. There are too many other doll companies to buy from ❤

Blaine......you don't need to quit collecting American Girl dolls just because you aren't ordering from American Girl directly. I have been collecting AG for over a year and most of my dolls have come from the secondary market (thrift, Mercari, etc). There are sooo many treasures to be found & enjoyed without buying brand new dolls. Your channel is awesome and truly a great addition to the doll collecting community. 🙂

Oh Blaine! I feel so bad that you experienced this. How very frustrating and upsetting. I am glad you have made peace with it. As a fellow Canadian I am really excited to hear about and see your MapleLea dolls. I have pretty much completed my collection of historical American Girls but I will still pick them up second hand and local if I see them. Ordering them from American Girl is way too expensive, especially without berry rewards. I also plan to add some Our Generation dolls. They have gotten much prettier and are very affordable and easy to find in Canada. I am relieved you will still have your channel. You have a loyal audience here and we love hearing you talk about your dolls! 🫶🏻❤️😄

I’m not going anywhere. You’re part of the doll community family, and I’ve been watching your videos since you started. I was hoping things would work out for you with the Berry rewards but it doesn’t surprise me. They’ve messed up my rewards many times. I think the software they use for sales is buggy. That’s no excuse how some of the AG CS treated you. That snarky remark about the dolls being “American” was total BS on their part. I’m sorry they treated you poorly. It’s shameful on their part. Maplelea is a great company, and I will say they’ve always been good to me. Not once ever have they made me feel unwelcomed because I’m from the U.S. I look forward to your future videos because the love you have for your dolls always comes through.

As canadian, I stopped collecting AG, too. I've been focusing on Maplelea. Im actually enjoying them a lot.

Unboxing videos honestly don't interest me all that much anyway when it comes to AGTube content. I'm here for the infectious doll passion, the hangout atmosphere, and the personality, that's why I've watched your unboxing videos! Anyway, I'm so sorry American Girl has disregarded you this way, they made a huge mistake, that I know! I'm excited for whatever comes next, especially more Maplelea content. I'm about to get my first Maplelea doll, largely thanks to this channel. 😊

You are anything but silly, you’re positive and optimistic. The American Girl company is the silly one. They’re missing out on a fabulous and dedicated doll collector. More fool them!! It wouldn’t matter what you collected, even empty paper bags, I’d still be here watching every one of your videos. ❤❤

I am at a loss for words. I know doll collecting brings you such joy. It just seems so bizarre. You are a phenomenal customer. AG needs to reevaluate its policies for Canada. They really stepped in it this time.

I think you're completely valid in everything you're feeling. I will say that I have had issues with their rewards, their website is just really bad, it's not just you having issues. My husband got me an e-giftcard and it wouldn't work at all on the website, we had to call them to apply it. Did the "manager" say why they cancelled your rewards?

Hello Blaine! I wanted to say you are not alone in this experience and along with the comments, we're here to support you regardless. I'm an American so I may not get the entire experience of the Berry Rewards as you have. I didn't get my reward points back in September when it was 4x the points when CYO was included. I am still salty about it to this day and reflection of your video since then I bought more OG dolls. It is becoming a trend not just exclusively to American Girl but all corporate entities is the greed is going too far. I believe this with American Girl with many aspects where their greed is what is harming the brand. I am hoping that one day we can see a collaboration with you and Maplelea as they just did one with Just a Dream Studios.

As a fellow Canadian who spend way too much at AG, I feel cheated every time I hear about all the Berry rewards I WOULD have earned, and how others get savings all the time with those rewards. I complained as recently as yesterday to AG about this. It is so unfair. I have been a regular customer since 1995. They don't send me catalogues, either. I am so frustrated.

They just replied about Canada strick regulations about rewards. Really why would Canada help an American company cheat their people

I don't understand why they won't ship to your Canadian address. You have to pay for shipping anyway whether you live next door or overseas.....right. Maybe the money exchange is too difficult for them to calculate. I don't get it??? Do other USA companies have issues mailing stuff to Canada? You could always buy AG items off Ebay or Mecari if the seller is willing to mail outside of the USA. When I order something from Maplelea I have no problem whatsoever. Last year i bought more items from Maplelea than AG. And I hope all of the other AG TH-camrs mention how bad you were treated (maybe they're listening).

As an American, I will add to the other commenters to confirm that even Americans often find themselves feeling the same way when dealing with AG in regards to our rewards, especially lately. It's been downhill ever since Mattel took over from PC, and my current experience dealing with American Girl customer service gives the impression of some business or financial "mastermind" initiating a "crack down," ostensibly as a way to reverse declining sales, but in a way that is ultimately going to hurt them as it is making customers, Americans as much as international folks, feel unwelcome, and is chasing us all away. For me, I had wondered if I was getting the attitude as an adult collector, rather than someone who buys for children. But I can only imagine the money they are making off adult collectors. So I'm wondering if the attitude is actually more generalized than I thought, looking for any excuse to deny discounts and rewards, as part of a supposed re-focusing on the bottom line, that I have seen fail with so many other beloved businesses right before they collapsed.

I had similar problems with berry rewards As well even as an American! I had problems with berry rewards since last year and when I brought it up it seemed like many people didn’t have the same issues and customer service was upset at me! I had and I felt insane!! I’m not glad that other people have since experienced them but I’m glad more people are becoming more aware and understanding that the company and or system is corrupt.. which interesting enough when I called last year they told me they switched their reward system and were having many problems with it.. 🤷‍♀️

So sorry! Yes, buy pre-owned. Most of my collection is pre owned, and I live in chicago near a flagship store! I would be happy to sell you stuff too. L o l.

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this! It’s terrible that they refused to figure out which payment system would stay defaulted to the US billing info, so that you could just use that every time (regardless of where you ship the order). Shame on them for not trying to work through this issue for you because their system is faulty. Honestly, your videos showing their products have given them tons of free marketing and they should be appreciating you, not treating you this way. What’s with the anti-Canadianism?! ☹You are definitely “one of us!” The rewards program is so broken in general. I have to call customer service almost every time I purchase things during the points sales because I don’t automatically get my extra points. And most of the time I go to check on my points history on my account, the recent activity doesn’t show up so I can’t even make sure I’m getting my points, I just have to be diligent with the math and the value of my rewards when I get them. It’s a pain. I’ve been buying less and less from AG because I haven’t liked the direction they’ve been going in as a company for the last few years and a lot of the decisions they’ve made. I feel like they’ve kind of pushed me away as a customer and are not making things for “me” anymore, when I used to gladly hand over my money for stuff in the past. I am also kind of in my “Maplelea Era” right now! 😉 I really love their company and I’m so glad that they appreciate their non-Canadian customers and make it easy for us to shop there! My last three dolls were Maplelea, not AG!

That doesn't make any sense that Canadian's can't be berry rewards members. I love your videos and I really like the Maplelea unboxings you have done and had to buy the cow with the outfit and clear boots after watching your video about it and have made more purchases since. You definitely influence me so American Girl is making a big mistake losing you as a customer.

I can relate to this, I am the same way. I would have done exactly the same thing in your shoes. If they don’t want my business, they are not getting it.

As a Canadian, that rep’s comment about how it’s AMERICAN Girl really disgusts me. I’ll be joining you and won’t be shopping from AG anymore (and I just got my first CYO, too!) It sucks because Maplelea makes it a point to ship internationally and create a good shopping experience for American audiences, but AG isn’t returning the kindness. Honestly, I wouldn’t buy AG new, because I prefer to support the Canadian economy these days. Maplelea for the win! (I still hate their faces…) Stick out the channel and collecting, imo. There are so many dolls…hang in there! And you know what? There are a myriad of topics in the doll community at large that you could cover, too. It’s a total soap opera in some of the niche areas like the reborn community. You’re a good TH-camr. With some creative editing and a broader topic range I think your channel could see considerable growth! Imagine having topics that pull in viewers from all the doll communities, not just 18”! Food for thought! I watch all the channels not because I collect, as I only truly collect Barbie, but because I love the content!

Absolutely infuriating that they did this to you. I agree with others here that say finding things secondhand can bring a lot of joy to your collection. Either way, I watch for you, whether the collection is Living Dead Dolls or AG.

I’m so sorry this happened to you I know exactly how you feel. I have the same experience with Maplelea. My doll’s hair seemed to be cut The box is damaged and the pillow blanket mooose i’m not sure the name of the collection however, the blanket was stained and I did not get my awards for ordering on Black Friday from Maplelea. Now I don’t feel like I can’t trust the company and I don’t think I can order from them again everyone raves about them and I feel like I’ve got the runaround.

I’m sorry this all happened to you! It’s stuff like this, that really ruins this brand for me. I still collect AG and rarely buy directly from them anymore. Admittedly I just ordered one of the pink stardust dolls when they went on sale 🤣 but I mainly get things second hand that are older (better quality anyways). Considering how poorly AG has been doing. You would think they would try harder to keep a collector like you, who spends so much there! I have had so many issues with reward too (as an American in America!) I will watch whatever kind of videos you make!
