Our oldest daughter was adopted from Kolkata in 1983. She'll be 42 in December. When we lived in a larger city she took Indian dance and we attended Diwali dinners every year. It was so much fun and we all loved it. I have Kavi in her dance dress and I've pierced her nose. I also made cute beaded anklets for her.

Your dolls look so beautiful, dressed for Diwali. And your display at the end is gorgeous! I appreciate the knowledge about the Etsy seller- I'm trying to get more appropriate outfits for my dolls who celebrate different holidays, and while I only have Kavi currently who celebrates Hindu holidays, she deserves more options. I loved hearing your stories, too. I am part of an interfaith relationship (I am Jewish, my partner is agnostic/culturally Christian), and it is a good reminder to keep working on making sure my partner feels prepared when he comes to synagogue with me (because you aren't wrong, it can be so easy to forget to tell your partner things that feel obvious!). Great video, and I love your window display. I'm interested in other cultures too. I used to have a friend who helps put on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. She let me walk in the parade as a "captain" of a group of people from Trinidad, who wear the huge colorful carnival costumes. One of those men was of Indian descent, and so kind to me, besides being gorgeous. He took me on a date in Queens and I bought the most beautiful marble statue of Lakshmi at one of the Indian stores. Love your Diwali display. I got my Suri (tm47) dressed yesterday (the 29th) so I’d be ready for the 31st. So many overlapping holidays this year with Halloween and Diwali on the 31st and Dia de Los Muertos and All Saints Day on the 1st. I guess 3 of those holidays are always together, but adding Diwali in adds more to the hustle and bustle. Skeskjngnuf which, I need to set up my dolls ofrenda tomorrow.
Your Rohan is one of my dream dolls. I really love 76 with the 75 wig. I bought 75 and was going to get 76 next and he was retired. I was so mad. I still haven’t found a good 76 for a price I’m willing to pay but I’m patient and eventually he’ll come around. He’s gonna be Indian in my collection as well.
I love how much you’re supporting your partner. Going to temple and learning not only his culture but his religion as well is so great. Your stories show how much appreciation you have for the deeper meaning of his religion. You understand that it means a great deal to your partner and the other Hindis in the temple and you don’t want to demean their beliefs. I think that shows great sensitivity.
    Happy Halloween and Haply Diwali!

@@melangellperry5984 did you put Suri in the Diwali outfit? And yes! This holiday schedule really messed with my decorations / displays 🤣
76 really needed the blacker hair-and it’s a shame they retired him. My first one I found on sale and then the “replacement” was reasonable, so you will find him. Beware if you rewig him: these boy wigs are something else to remove!! I thought I destroyed it but I was able to hide the damage when I glued it on him.
I didn’t talk enough about how lucky I am that he’s patient. True there’s a lot that’s so normal to him he doesn’t think to explain but there’s so much that he does… repeatedly 🤣

The outfits are beautiful. 75 dollars is slot for the boy outfits but it looks like it is worth it. You mini me looks adorable in his outfit. I never thought to use Kavi dance outfit for Divali . I have the AG Divali outfit. Great display and nice story time

@@nailahvenable7989 yeah the price is high - even more on the female outfits! But there aren’t any other options, and the clothes are beautiful, so I may buy another outfit each year.
Kavi’s outfit works if you use the veil as a scarf and don’t use that weird tikka.
