Thank you for making these videos. I've been testing my soy candles for awhile now. I am so frustrated with soy. It's very temperamental wax. I'm thinking of switching over to paraffin. Your videos have helped me understand wax so much!
I was just preparing to ask the same question. I started to do pillar candles with palm wax, I have the craters problem. I pole them, the refill and so on, but I still remain with one hole at least at the bottom. I don't do normal pillar candles, the cilindrical ones, I do it in shapes (like female shape), so I don't know if the fliping technique will work here? I don't want the neck or face of the shape to have bubbles ...
I have a question about FO and their flashpoint. A lot of the FOs I've noticed have a flashpoint lower than that of Palm preferred temperatures. How do you work around that?
@@marisoldiaz6850 I'm currently mid-testing with them, but early estimates suggest the CSN 9 might be a little small, but the other two are doing pretty well so far! Gonna have to replace the wick in that one if it gets out of hand!
Hey! This video is awesome. I'm trying my best to get the crystals out but it's not working at all. Did the pouring at 200 F and even put them in the oven so they would have a lot of isolation. Minimal crystallization... Can u think of anything I can do differently? Bought palm wax just for this!
Hmmm that's interesting. Wrapped in tinfoil? Hot room? Is it the "right" palm wax? There's a few blends out there that have slightly different behaviors. I think this stuff is R2322A.
@@ArmatageCandleCompany a room hotter than the oven... Is hard! Haha it's cold here in Berlin right now, so I thought the oven was the best choice. I also thought maybe it was the was... Sadly I haven't found here waxes that specify their type. I'll try with another wax and will let u know! Thanks for now 😁

How important is the curing process..? I usually let them cure for 8 hours... I find myself struggling with making these but I’m in love with the special effect it has! My melt pool is too small and I’ve tried so many sizes and different types. Thanks in advance!

It is a great one off guide for making money as a candle maker minus the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my close friend Aubrey after a lifetime of fighting got excellent success with it.

Why do you test different type of wick candles? Why do you want to compare apples with oranges? You have too many variables: the wick sizes and type. I am working now with palm wax and I read that eco wicks work well with this type of wax. Therefore, I decided to work only with eco wicks. What I was testing today, actually, was the wick thickness. I found out that the eco-14 worked very well with my 3 inch diameter containers, but I think I can do better with the eco-16. I think they are all good wick types. Just pick one and don't complicate your life.

Can I just ask if its possible to use wood wicks with palm wax? I've seen people use them but others don't recommend it and I can't understand why
For curing the candle does the lid have to be off or on ???
I'm at testing step but when i burn the candle i can't get the smell so is the problem might be in the fragrance or in the type of the wax?

It is not paraffin wax or soy wax
This candle is made with stearic acid
Melt the stearic acid in a jar and let it cool, crystals will form
Do you find the infrared thermometer accurate when used in candle making?
It has some pros and cons. Most important rule of temperature I've found is to be consistent with the method you choose to use.

Curing is super important. With palm, give them 5-7 days,

Making Palm wax candle is so tricky. Mine cracked and crumbled in my first attempts

We use 6% on palms. No sweating or anything. Have you tested?? Shouldn’t take the vendors word on the percentage.

This doesn’t seem like a good wax for the beginning candle maker.
