Hello everybody. In this video I spend a night in the woods and try out a new stove. The main reason why I wanted to get a stove like this is because of the fire ban we have here in Norway all summer. I have been missing the feeling of a live fire when doing summer camping. I have no plans to turn the channel into a review channel but I will do this kind of videos from time to time if I get my hands on gear that I think might improve the outdoor experience.

I really like your videos. A review now and then is good, I think. Reviewing equipment all the time is a little too commercial, I think. So, I'm glad to hear you say that you will not do a lot of equipment review videos. Thank you, sir. I've been admiring the pants you're wearing. They look very durable. What kind are they?

This is by far the best review of the Solo Titan I've been able to find. I was especially interested in seeing someone cooking on the stove as I was worried that heat control would be a problem. I'm relieved to see that that issue can be overcome. Thanks!

That stove looks like a good catch! The summers in Scandinavia look wonderful. (It gets very hot in New Zealand in summer, and the sun is harsh due to ozone depletion over the antarctic, so I prefer the autumn and spring).

Great idea adding a piece of butter to the oatmeal so I must try that next time and reg the stoves they definitely have their place for situations like you are in and like in the UK where live fires are not legal so a controlled small fire in a stove is much more discrete. Such a delightful and enjoyable video as always Martin so thank you for sharing ~Peace~

This is an outstanding video. Nice stove and a good demonstration on the stoves capabilities. I have a Firebox 5 inch folding stove that I use. One thing I think you will really like with these small wood stoves is in the winter they can give a lot of heat not only for cooking but for warmth. The best part is they don't use a lot of fuel as you found out. The meals looked delicious and your camping spot was outstanding. Very successful trip. Thanks for sharing. Take care, Al

@@NorwegianWoods I have the Campfire to use here at home on my porch and the Lite for backpacking. The campfire is about the size of a gallon paint can. The lite is the size of a "larger" tomato can. Yes, they burn very hot! My suggestion is to roast the sausages on sticks. FYI, the lite is perfect to use with an alcohol stove as well.

Very glad that I was able to watch your video, we also got a burning band in Washington and so camp fires is not aloud. It's a great idea to use one of those portable wood stove. I just went on line to order one. Maybe some day we could visit your beautiful country.

From start to finish, this video was FANTASTIC! Your photography skills are an absolute treat. This was a pure joy to watch, just fantastic! Stove was actually very impressive by NOT getting hot underneath. I use a Firebox stove and it's hot...everywhere. The 60 ounce pot really caught my eye and I will be checking your links out as soon as I send this off. Your a well spoken man and very pleasant to listen to, I look forward to watching more of your videos. I did sub, I wouldn't want to miss anything else you put out. The country side you showed us was stunning. I watch Norwegian Outdoors channel and I'm always so stunned at how incredibly beautiful your country is. Thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you for taking the time that is involved in putting out such a great video. I'm certainly glad I found you. My best to you, Bibsoutdoors

Great little stove. Nice learn as you go video Martin. Meals looked delicious. I use a BioLite stove here in Michigan very similar concept wood gas stove with a TEG that charges phone, camera, or lights. I really like how that stove nests in the pot.

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I am in the process of testing out a few new pieces of equipment. I do not think this stove is used by many people around here. It was really good on this first trip. Most people around here bring a butane stove or just make a small campfire. I think it is interesting to watch videos from around the world as well :)

I like wood backpacking stoves. I use an Emberlit titanium Fire Ant and carry it as a backup on long distance hikes. It folds down flat for easy packing and weighs next to nothing. The Solo is a more efficient using gasification. The only downside to any wood stove is soot buildup on your pots. No matter how hard you try you can plan on getting your hands dirty cooking with these. Having a good tote bag for your pot and stove limits soot getting everywhere including inside your pack. Great review. Thanks for sharing.

Hands down the most beautifully filmed video demonstrating a wood burning camp stove on TH-cam. I ordered the “Campfire” version of this stove (next larger size) to use as a campfire due to the same safety concerns and easier clean up. I will probably cook over it as well.
