  • In this video I go camping in the border area between Norway and Sweden. It was a really nice summer day and night. I was bringing a Solo Stove Titan for tis trip. This is the first time I use this kind of stove, and I think it worked out really good.
Here is a link to the stove I used: www.solostove.com/solo-stove-...

Hello everybody. In this video I spend a night in the woods and try out a new stove. The main reason why I wanted to get a stove like this is because of the fire ban we have here in Norway all summer. I have been missing the feeling of a live fire when doing summer camping. I have no plans to turn the channel into a review channel but I will do this kind of videos from time to time if I get my hands on gear that I think might improve the outdoor experience.

I really like your videos. A review now and then is good, I think. Reviewing equipment all the time is a little too commercial, I think. So, I'm glad to hear you say that you will not do a lot of equipment review videos. Thank you, sir. I've been admiring the pants you're wearing. They look very durable. What kind are they?

    Wow
That was a King Kong dinner you made there!!!
    And it looked delicious too...
...you're right about how food is just so much better out in the open!
When we go camping I can get my girlfriend to eat stuff she would normally not at home and she loves it too.
And we sleep like babies in the forest.

This is by far the best review of the Solo Titan I've been able to find. I was especially interested in seeing someone cooking on the stove as I was worried that heat control would be a problem. I'm relieved to see that that issue can be overcome. Thanks!

@@NorwegianWoods I have the Campfire to use here at home on my porch and the Lite for backpacking. The campfire is about the size of a gallon paint can. The lite is the size of a "larger" tomato can. Yes, they burn very hot! My suggestion is to roast the sausages on sticks. FYI, the lite is perfect to use with an alcohol stove as well.

Great idea adding a piece of butter to the oatmeal so I must try that next time and reg the stoves they definitely have their place for situations like you are in and like in the UK where live fires are not legal so a controlled small fire in a stove is much more discrete. I am a solo car camper and use a butain stove...the backpacking stoves give me the hebejebes...lol...always look like they may blow over : ) but in my NEXT life I want to be a bushcrafter...Thank you so much for the adventure!

Hello Sheila. Nothing wrong with a butain stove. I use them from time to time also. I enjoy the company of live flames when I go solo camping. They are like a friend that never complains about anything as long as they get a little food from time to time :)
Thanks for coming along - Martin

Good video Martin, I'm now hungry after watching. Looks like a good setup. I have a cooker very similar that I've not tried out yet. It fits into a zebra billy can so will give it a try soon. Great cinematography. Look forward to future posts. Cheers👍

This is an outstanding video. Nice stove and a good demonstration on the stoves capabilities. I have a Firebox 5 inch folding stove that I use. One thing I think you will really like with these small wood stoves is in the winter they can give a lot of heat not only for cooking but for warmth. The best part is they don't use a lot of fuel as you found out. The meals looked delicious and your camping spot was outstanding. Very successful trip. Thanks for sharing. Take care, Al

Thanks Al. I enjoyed the trip a lot. I have also got a Bushbox XL that I will try out in a video soon. That one looks very similar to the Firebox. I hope these two stoves will do the job in all seasons for years to come :)
