    There are two things I would like to say about your video. First, THIS IS MINOR, the bunge cord at the head is not for support, it is simply to keep the bug net away from your head and face. Second, I've used my Amok for two years now and learned the same things you talked about BUT, your honesty about what you found is amazingly refreshing. Most people exaggerate their findings out of a sence of obligation for getting something free. You DID NOT DO THAT. It makes the respect I feel for you grow enormously!! You're an honest man and I value that above anything else in life! My best wishes to you. My thanks to you for taking the time to make and share this video with us! Thank you, Bibsoutdoors

    Fine and thorough instruction on using Amok equipment. This is a valuable idea because it gets campers off the ground, provides a comfortable seat and transforms into a comfortable sleeping platform with bug and wind and rain shelter. I am getting much more comfortable with purchasing this entire system thanks to you! So I did. Thanks for a useful review and explanation! I cannot wait to use it...and I know it will be a big hit with my four-year-old grand twins. The 'seat' configuration will be what interests them most!

That system looks like a great option for someone starting out,with the addition of a good cold weather sleeping bag it seems to be a good all in one option over a tent. Cheers.

    It was great to see you post again! It has been a while. I must admit, that is the fanciest hammock system I have ever seen; but it sure looks to be complete, and what is needed in bug season. I fear though that it would cost quite a lot. That strap system alone must have cost quite a bit to engineer and develop. Still, way cool if it allows you to camp out when the weather and insect conditions are deplorable. Pretty cool, all in all. Don't wait so long until your next posting!

    Good video, thank you.
    I've been using my Amok since the beginning of the year.
    Don't think I could go back to any other hammock now as I get the best sleep every with the Amok.
    Your spot on about temperatures as well - I use an Exped 9 in the winter months, but change to the Fjol for the rest of the year.
    A lot of people say this is just a gimmick, and not a 'real' hammock, but it's a great bit of quality Norwegian gear.
    All the best, Steve

    Hi Martin! Very nice movie! I am also the owner of Draumr 3.0 and I am delighted - a great product! At the moment it is my sleeping system - I have it even in the garden now and I sleep instead of in the bedroom :). I am just ordering a new sleeping bag, because mine is too big. I chose quilta from our Polish company, Cumulus - it is compressed 15 / 20cm, and has sleeping comfort at 4 stp. Celsius. If this tuża, white bundle on the film, it's your sleeping bag :), I recommend you look at the Cumulus offer. Opinions can be found on youtube, because the company, although small, does great things. Greetings and waiting for more videos from Draumr 3.0 in action! Pawel.

    Someone below me has made mention of this, but I think I can elaborate. Yes, the shock cord, which is attached to the head of the Amok, is there to keep the bug net off your head. There should also be two small pockets sewn into the back, opposite each other, and a forearm’s length apart. These are “stick pockets,” designed to insert a small flexible green stick from a tree or brush. The effect of the stick is to prop up the fabric behind your head. The shock cord can then be attached to the ridgeline, and the bug net will be propped well off your head and face.

    The microphone, camera or cable connection was picking up some wild feedback from that wind, especially towards the end of the video. Lots of cracking and popping. I hope your microphone is OK, otherwise I'd trade it for a Rode microphone.

    Can anyone provide a comment on how this holds up in the rain. Specifically I worry about rain following the suspension system down to you and whether the tarp provides coverage if there is some wind and rain. It looks like you may get soaked if wind is coming from the side. Any comment would be great. These look like they would be great to have. I live in a rain forest however.

    • @Dark_Lobster
      @Dark_Lobster 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Synes egentlig det er enklere...poser og liner er festet til hammocken og karabinkroker i endene. Så er det bare å blåse opp underlaget og legge det på plass. Med en "vanlig" hengekøye ble jeg fort kald på ryggen og det var et svare strev med å bruke en underquilt som aldri lå riktig eller et underlag som skled rundt. Man måtte også vrikke seg rundt for å finne "stillingen". Eneste kompliserte med Amoken er å finne teknikken for å komme seg inn og ut av den....

    • @juzuk8177
      @juzuk8177 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mulig det. Er vel litt hva en er vant til. Jeg har aldri hatt behov av underquilt på sommeren, bruker en British army arctic sove pose og har ikke hatt problemer med kulde i ryggen...
