Hi everyone, I am not satisfied with the quality of this tutorial. I think because I was having so much pain, I tried to do 'less demonstrating' and 'more talking'. But because of this, I think the tutorial is still missing some important details. I want to re-do this tutorial when my back is feeling better, and physically demonstrate sissonne, in each direction (front side back) in all its dynamics (small, medium, and big). Until then, check out the video I attached the description. "Swan Puddle" does a great job demonstrating sissonnes with a very deliberate, no-nonsense verbal explanation. If you still have questions and need further clarification, feel free to let me know in the comments- that way I can address them when i re-shoot the video!

It is Maximova performing Sugar Plum!
    My favourite 🥰

YES! She is the ultimate Sugar Plum Fairy! This is the only variation I performed when I did Sugar Plum gigs. But it is also the hardest! I feel it is meant for a small, powerful dancer. I struggle with my body. But it is the only choreography that fits the music that way I hear it.

Thank you again. I like facts! As an unconfident adult student your tutorials really help me understand what I am meant to be trying to do.💕

Hi, your clips are definitely the best in explaining all the details. ...but there is one thing I would like to ask you: are you fighting with your husband on you dresses? As he is a DP, he definitely knows how bad black dresses look on the screen, specially if the screens are smaller. You just cannot see easily which leg is in front of the other, and how are all the details of the body and so on. I know that ALL the ballet ladies love the black dresses, but when you want to show and teach something and you definitely wish that it enters also into the deep part of the observers brain then the understanding of the space and the "objects" inside the frame have to be immediately. In any case, your lessons are fantastic!!!

thank you for the question. i do not "fight" with my husband on how i dress. he is not involved in my tutorials. he is a filmmaker, but he neither directs nor films my lessons. It is only me and my laptop.
No one else has commented that the black leggings are a problem for them. I wear them because they are stretchy but also thick enough to keep my legs warm. My studio does not have heat. So if i film a tutorial on a day when I am not "warmed up" from a ballet class, i choose to wear my black leggings. My pink tights, or bare legs would be very cold for me.
I will keep this in mind next time i have a tutorial that focuses on the legs. Thank you for the suggestion!

@@SaltySugarPlum Then this rises even more my respect for you, because you have at this point a very good feeling for the general framing and lightening of the scenes, and the way you make the split-screens are very excellent. to explain the combinations. Anyway, I started to make my observations only because as I studied as painting in Venice (Italy) as moviemaking in LA, so I do have some more concise way of looking the picture.and noted quickly this problem. Black leggings would not be always a problem, it is only that it is more difficult to lit them correctly to show the treedimensionality of the upper legs.
Here is just a quick idea: shoot a quick scene about only your legs, but without your feet and without the upper body, and do it as in black leggings as in grey leggings.and compare the differences. Then look at them also on a smaller screen, like an iPAD or mini iPAD and you will see the difficulty to see when you wear black leggings to distinguish which leg is in the front or in the back. You obviously help the viewer already, when you explain often in slow-motion the combinations, but trust me it would help the viewer to get easier to understand the positions of the body without having to search for the different parts of the body..... Anyway, thank you for your love and patience you bring to this art:)... Ah, I forgot: the blue walls could be also better then white walls, check it also on your test-shooting, because white walls could rise the contrast and flatten the body structure further..
