To even discover Gus would be incredibly hard to do and if he even gets within the range of going after him without Hector to be a weak point to kill him. I think people are way overestimating Gus here. I think the video put it perfectly...a season long hunt. And even if Gus finds out that Dexter hunts him, this happened to Dexter in literally every single season and it get's difficult and messy and Dexter comes out on top in the end. Gus would actually fit perfectly in that picture...very difficult but well in the realm of possibility. Walter "I am the one who doesn't have his ego in check" White was able to do it, so an at least equally intelligent but not nearly as emotional Dexter surely could get it done too. ...or I guess people understimate Dexter. Honestly even John Wick isn't completely out of the picture. Hear me out on this...Dexter wouldn't go for the humiliation, and especially not the dog. Instead of Theon and his goons he get's suprised by a needle instead and that's it...for Dexter, who couldn't mow down 50 people in a gunfight and who wouldn't be sent to kill the Boogeyman, it would be comparetively *very* easy to kill the man they send to kill the Boogeyman. I think the top tier should be reserved for only people who LITERALLY can't be killed by Dexter. So arguably none in this list...Michael Myers would be a top tier for instance for supernatural reasons (also noticed that people think Leatherface has the same powers as Michael Myers, which he doesn't...he's Little Chino with a Chainsaw). For IRL killers Bin Laden or Escobar are easy cases where "In your wildest Dreams" would apply too...and if you're comparing their level of paranoid carefullness and "having an entire security team" with that of Gus, you'll see that Gus is playing 4D Chess (but not THAT good) while they're playing 4D Hide & Seek on Grandmaster level.
As someone who never watched much Dexter, I don't really thing Gus is the kind of guy he would go after - or most of the people on this list, anyway. A highly professional kingpin that's only really taking people out who are "in the game" thanks to Mike's influence isn't exactly his normal target I don't think.
I think Gus should be higher, dude is incredibly smart and is nearly impossible to reach. The man literally bunkered down and had a 24/7 watch when he even had the slightest suspicion Lalo was still alive despite him being found “dead” Fring also just has connections on top of connections to make him hard to reach for people outside his circle

Even without the deus ex machina, Sam and Dean are trained killers who put down super fast, super strong foes on the daily. A guy like Dexter could certainly be a threat to one of them, but not both.

John Wick and Hannibal are like the final boss fights for Dexter. No way could he beat them. Sam and Dean was a strange choice for this list. I don’t think they’d ever want to kill each other. You forgot to put Anton Chigurh, the man is pratically untracable, and I can only see Dexter winning if he chases him down and no chance if Anton chases him down. I had an interesting discussion seeing who could win between the two and it really boils to who is the hunter and the hunted.
@ComradeSid Its not a fact, it is an interesting theory and explaination but he is very real in the movie because of the multiple police reports about a weird dude with a cattle gun. Making him a personification of the violence out there is both a cowardly view by Sheriff Bell and its also him trying to avoid that men out there like him do exists and its easier to think that one bad guy is here. Besides, there are multiple shots, imagery and subtle camera angle and positions that suggest that he is real and in theme with what the story tries to convey about a man not having the stomach to deal with the violence of his time and being nostalgic of simpler and better times.

Hannibal would destroy Dexter just using his psychology again him, Dexter is a great manipulator but Hannibal is on another league, just by talking to him he would catch all his dad issues, moral dilemas and turn that against him.
It depends on the approach. If dexter tries to understand him then only Hannibal would get the chance but if dexter already knows about him and his crimes which he usually would do before proceeding with trying to catch him, its most likely Hannibal would get ambushed and then die. I like both characters though it's a 60/40 in Dexter's favor I'd say.

I think it depends on which Dexter we’re getting. First season Dexter pre identity crisis I think takes most of these guys out with a fair bit of ease. This was peak control freak, methodical, emotionless Dexter. I mean the element of surprise matched with tranquilizers. Unless for some reason Dexter is on someone’s radar and they’re expecting him to come for you he practically always has the major advantage over his victims.
I agree. Doesn't matter how smart they are, or strong, or how well they can fight. Why would Dexter let it come to a battle of strength or wits in the first place? They'd never even know that he targets them and he gets the jump on them and it's over.

I don't even think Gus is that much of a killer, he killed one guy in Breaking Bad himself, but did orchestrate the deaths of others with his resources.

Way overestimating Penguin. He isn't that vigilant, he gets captured like twice in his own show. He also might be smart, but he's not THAT smart. Add all that to the fact that he's a loner, this gives Dexter ample opportunity to get him. And without his goons he's pretty weak, man is literally physically DISABLED.

He's ranking the character in general, not just on the show. In the comics the Penguim one time went inside an elevator with 5 vigilantes, two of them with super powers. The Penguim was the only one that was able to get out still walking, he destroyed everyone else. Dude's not like the Joker, that is shit at actual combat, he is both a strategist, but also a fighter.
I feel that Leatherface should probably go down a tier and Gus should be in the "dreams" category simply because of the resources at his disposal + having already survived Lalo which means that he isn't a stranger to being hunted down. Other than that I believe this is a very well thought out ranking.
First he mentions one of the Supernatural guys is God so he'd be hard to kill, then he mentions their military training later just in case being God wasn't enough they'd have something to fall back on.
Honestly the only one i personally disagree with is leatherface. Dont get me wrong i agree hes a beast and everything you said is true but to me i feel like with dexters IQ he could definitely outsmart him. Leatherface in later films is more agressive and violent but in the original he was more so a victim of mental illness and bullying by his family. Id personally move him in the tier below with art but thats just me.

Leatherface lives in the middle of nowhere. Dexter could kill him with a sniper and nothing would happen. The family isn’t gonna call the police and no neighbors nearby.
I don’t think he’d be able to get Gus just because of people Gus has around him and because of how careful Gus is. I’d say Gus is probably the most difficult in his tier and the only way Dexter is hearing about Gus is if his department had a joint investigation with the DEA or something.
Even then its unlikely tbh. The only reason Gus' operation started getting uncovered is because Walt, who was working for him, ego tripped and started leaving breadcrumbs for Hank. Without a convenient Walter on the inside neither DEA nor Dexter find him
Hank’s only lead on Gus was the Gale murder, which connected Gus to the blue meth. He was also willing to drop the case until Walter drunkenly convinced him to reopen the case, and would’ve been killed by Gus if Walter hadn’t made the call to save him. Three times where Walter’s interference aided Hank in catching Gus. Meanwhile no one in the DEA would’ve even considered Gus to be the kingpin, or even involved.

In my head the Tiers should be changed to timeframe in a Dexter season and the characters in them would be: No Ritual: Sam & Dean. These two probably do get put on the table but probably get saved by some kind of relic or celestial as mentioned. They will banish Dexter's Dark Passenger. Dex goes back to his life and has a stable family. John Wick... He absolutely spots the ambush even in the dark and hits Dex with his own tranq, when Dex tries again this time they talk. Either both agree the other are only monsters of necessity and go their separate ways or Wick kills Dex when he knows he is compulsive and wont stop bothering him. Gus Fring... Gus is basically the most careful person with the widest array of assets, who keeps his hands the cleanest and handles problems the best way a criminal businessman is his position can. Dexter would want to get face to face to vibe check him, Gus would do the same when they meet and will immediately clock him as an over interested stranger and potential threat and investigate further. Dex has to travel, is in Gus' neighbourhood. Favours are probably called in to force Dexter to return to Miami metro. He never gets this guy on his table without going through 20 others ASAP, which isnt really Dexter's forte... If John Wick helped him, maybe, but now we are mixing media again. Hannibal Lecter - By far the darkest timeline. Gets inside Dexter's head, convinces him he is helping him manage his dark passenger, slowly pushes him to make a more colourful ritual and uses the new police connection to commit more crime and cover it up. Season-long Antagonist: Ozwald Cobblepot, kind of like Gus but impulsive and less careful. Also, are we talking comic book remote control penguin servants or regular human henchmen? Who knows how weird that gets... Joe Goldberg, I see him being handled the same way as The Ice Truck Killer, a we got to Brian Moser being a socialite manipulating people and covering it up. But Dex has already dealt with that so maybe less time invested. Several episode hunt: Barry Berkman, in a straight fight he would end Dex... But Barry has historically tended towards pacifism. He is also clumsy and its only by pure luck that the investigation didnt find him instantly. Dex would know from the start, would spend an episode manipulating evidence because he gives everyone too much credit. Dex would join an acting class or two, meet Sally and compare her to Rita in his head. Barry would 100% fall for the dark room, light switch, tranq tactic... Might even fall for the smiling handshake and tranq if it was after a conversation about Dex being an eccentric aspiring actor. Dex would end up relating to him and killing him in an episode or two after saying his frequent "both of us can't escape what we are, this is all we know how to do, the only thing that ever made us feel good..." and leaving some kind of apology/goodbye gift for Sally from 'Barry'... "The breakup was inevitable. He knew it, I know it and now she does too." "LEATHERFACE" - this is a whole thing not just Leatherface... You start there but you end up dealing with the WHOLE of the Sawyer family. Thats a trio of episodes at least, even if the family members arent particularly troublesome as individuals. They are close nit and dangerous, peeling them off one at a time is the most ideal strategy. One and done episode: Everyone else. Nobody else here is more than a footnote to Dexter, he would be working through other personal problems for half of these kills, thats the only reason it would take more than a night. Hell, some of these could easily be in one of those montages of Dexter's multiple string of successes at the start of a new season and we wouldn't bat an eye.

Sam and Dean have definitely stumbled into ambushes and got tagged before... they just always manage to stumble out. Besides, I think the only way they get an understanding of the Dark Passenger is by getting up close and personal with it. So they use themselves as bait and then escape right before the ritual is completed.
The fact that no one is talkking about the Art rating is crazy. Art was always a demon. Especially factoring in the 2nd and 3rd movies, he is not dying no matter what dex does. He literally cant die.

His only defeat was being so bored/lonely that he let his guard down for Will. It would be an interesting cat and mouse game but Hannibal would come out on top 8/10 times.

Having watched all these shows I honestly think the only killer Dexter couldn't handle easily is Hannibal. All the others were caught by surprise, including J Wick, and some of them multiple times. That's really all Dexter needs. Further I don't think he'd go after the Winchesters simply bc he'd see they didn't have a "Dark Passenger".

Hannibal and Dexter is a fight I thought about for years. Ultimately it would boil down to Hannibal, in his sadistic ways, trying to force Dexter to break his code while Dexter will try everything into his power to prove to himself that he fits his code. Total mind chess game, probably ending with everyone Dexter cares about dying and Hannibal possibly feeding them to him without him knowing.
I feel like Dexter could easily get Sam and Dean on his table, but they would prove to Dexter very quickly that they are real monster hunters. This means they follow a set of morals close to Dexter's own, enough so that Dexter might let them go. That is the best case scenario for Dexter. There is no other scenario where Dexter survives.
Few issues here: - With leatherface, he would easily take him down, because in that shithole he doesn't even need to be careful, he would inject him with a lethal dose of poison and he'll go down in half a minute. - With Gus Fring, he would just wait to get him alone in one of the restaurants and he's done. - The penguin, if you take his comic book character, would be almost impossible for Dexter to catch, and even if he caught him, the penguin has superhuman durability (able to tank several of Batman's blows, and Batman is a unit!), and he has poison resistance so he might not even go down after trying to sedate him.

If Dexter doesn't know who he is then he's never finding Gus. And if both of them know who each other are, Gus wins quite easily since theres no way he'd be alone in that case
For him to want to take down Gus he'd have to know that he's not just a chicken restaurant manager tho. Without a messy Walter on the inside to start seasons worth of trouble and breadcrumb trails, Gus stays invisible to Dexter's radar

Remember guys, Dexter is from Police Department. So he can analyze all his targets easier and can know when the target is alone at home. And don't forget that Dexter once killed a gang member with extreme physique without the gang members knowing, and he even kill a famous senior assistant attorney without the government knowing it
You’re forgetting that dexter doesn’t have to fight any of them… he just has to catch them alone and off guard and inject them... meaning that characters like Barry and penguin would be relatively easy kills. Leatherface shoul be at the top of little effort

I think Art the clown was already in the beginning stages of having demonic powers in the first terrifier. In his first appearance he’s a regular guy in costume while in later appearances gets more inhuman features which could indicate demonic changes (if All Hallows’ eve is canon). It’s like Sienna’s arc with a test, death, resurrection and unnatural powers but demonic instead of divine. Also if he gets killed by Dexter as a human I’m fairly certain that he would resurrect with powers like in the movie.
one thing that should be noted about Leatherface: he did not operate alone. He's part of a family of cannibalistic killers. Dexter would have to deal with them all. I don't think that would change the tier ranking you gave him, but that alone would solidly put him in that rank.
I love this idea and this tier list! I'd love to see a list of Dexter Vs Notorious Mobsters/mafia guys from movies and tv. Could he take down a boss? Could he out kill a hitman? Or would be be the one who is buried in the desert?

A dexter/supernatural crossover would be insane. I can just imagine that at least half of the people Dexter killed were monsters who he caught off guard and just never realized that they were monsters. If you took Sam and Dean before season 4 and put them up against Dexter, i think it would play out in Dexter's favor at first, because lets face it, Sam was outsmarted by regular humans in the benders episode, so Dexter could take them. Dexter would probably have been tracking their movement for awhile, assuming that they were just a serial killer duo that had evaded capture for years. Then he figures out a bit of their pattern, i.e. what draws them to a new city, and figures out that they are coming to Miami for a job. Maybe as they work the case, he interacts with them as a forensics expert and he realizes who they are by finding out that whatever cover they are using is fake. The winchesters are usually great at noticing when people are following them so Dexter would have to be especially sneaky but since they mostly stay in rundown motels it would be lightwork for him to ambush them. He gets them on the table and they accuse him of whatever weird murder they were investigating and start asking what he is and everything, only for him to say something like "im a serial killer" and the boys to be completely baffled when he's showing them pictures of their victims which are all monsters they've killed, and then they try to explain themselves but at first he thinks they are insane until they manage to escape (because the boys always find a way out) and ultimately show him proof that the people they killed were supernatural. Dexter's whole world is turned upsidedown as he realizes that there are even better victims that he could have been going after all this time, and the boys sympathize with him because in many ways he does the same thing they do, only he takes out the human monsters while they take out the real monsters. They end up parting ways after teaching Dexter a few things about what to look for when tracking supernatural creatures, and Dexter starts cleaning up Miami one monster at a time.

I agree with everything, BUT here’s what I would change. 1. Sam & Dean should be the top of he’s never gonna even touch them because they have angels and god on their side and they come back to life so often and they travel around the country and sometimes world AND different planes of existence and universes AND TIMELINES 2. John Wick right below that 3. Gus Fring right below John in first tier 4. Hannibal would be in the difficult but maybe tier 5. Leatherface in the middle tier (only because if we go off most Leatherfaces it’s gonna be him in his little farm crazed out of his mind eating people so it’s gonna be tough to sneak up on a deranged lunatic) 6. Penguin would be in middle tier as well because yes he has a lot of resources but by no means is he a genius nor is he untouchable he’s a well known mob boss who has been arrested plenty of times in every single universe (Gus Fring arguably has accomplished much more and they both are in similar kingpin professions so he’s 100% below Fring)
I feel like Bateman could plausibly be really difficult. Man has resources, and if you’re assuming the storyline that he did murder those people that means he has a network of very powerful and connected people protecting him. Even if he did manage to kill Patrick, he’d have billions of dollars being used to bring him down.
Realistically the only way they would interact is because of Gus as, although Mike has killed loads of people, he doesn't have a dark passenger and is genuinely a good person unlike Gus.

Sure, its possible that Dexter is able to somehow kill him by a freakish stroke of luck, but 999/1000 times, jon takes it. Leatherface has the mentality of a child and no concept of right or wrong because of how insane the Slaughter Family is. And according to the new lore from the game, his cousin "Hands" killed a man and made a mask from his face, then gave it to a child Bubba, which kinda led him down the road to what he became.
The boys are very inconsistent, they go from fighting beings dozens of times stronger than humans, to fighting middle aged dads and prison inmates. Wick should easily clear them post-Chuck, since Jack doesn't interfere.
It would be interesting to see Dexter vs Annie Wilkes (book version). For someone who is batshit crazy, Annie is deceptively intelligent and has been kiiling people all throughout her life and for reasons that make sense only to her. Despite being on the heavier side, she is capable of catching people off guard, is dangerously strong due to farmwork, and shes armed with an array of weapons and tranquilisers. And also, she is obsessively organised to the point that she has every detail of her house committed to memory. Would be very interesting to see The Bay Harbor Butcher vs The Dragon Lady.
W tier list definitely should do a part 2 with characters like michel myers, the joker, maybe acouple video game killers. And definitely scream killers cuz there always different.
I think Dexter and Hannibal would become a unique relationship of Hannibal admiring and wanting to study Dex, and Dexter in return would be able to fully understand his dark passenger as it is a complete mirror of Hannibal
Penguin gets captured and held at gunpoint legit almost every single episode. He only survives due to the plot armor that makes every other character turn stupid when he’s in the room. Dexter could kill him easily.
if we're talking about all of these people at their very strongest then Sam & Dean should have their own tier that's like three tiers above "In Dexter's Dreams" Peak Sam killed Lilith, the strongest demon (if you forget the retcon) with his mind, and Mark of Cain Demon Dean would literally turn Dexter inside out. They don't exist on the same power bracket.

I feel like you’re not taking into account that none of them would know they’re being hunted, basically everyone is cooked except art, sam/dean and maybe gus and penguin because they have bodyguards. If you’re allowing sam and dean to have god on their side and they have the ability to get revived, then it’s only fair that art has his supernatural abilities.
So with the leather face one, there was an episode where Dexter had to kill this giant body builder like guy and the tranq he used wasn’t enough. So he had to hit the guy again. And then on his table he broke out of his restraints but Dexter still took him down. If it was after this learning experience I think Dexter could take down leather face but it’d take more than a knife in the chest to kill him apparently after some of the things he’s been hit with in the movies.
Barry should be as low as Patrick Bateman. He gets caught off guard by literally everybody, and none of them are as competent as Dexter. He’s also terrible at hand to hand combat, which Dexter excells at, and has a repetitive schedule that Dexter would learn in a day’s time. He’s a one episode kill.
Seems reasonable- I think the thing that perhaps needs work is the actual tiers: Gets away/'Exter Season finale, Multi episode, Team up/mutual Respect Target Cold open kill This would work nicely because it fits the way the narrative would work within universe.

I kind of have them on par, 47 can pull off some masterful hits but I don't remember him ever being quite the force of nature Wick is when he goes on a rampage. A couple more real life serial killers in Part 2 would be cool. You only had Dahmer here but I'd recommend Dennis Nilsen. For fictional ones, Villanelle from Killing Eve and Léon (he's basically French John Wick)
Patrick is literally the kind of murderer Dexter targets. Though he doesnt have previous convictions or a trial thus it would probably require Willem Dafoe's investigation to get Dexter's attention which could spark a Doakes situation where Willem keeps getting in the way.
Sam would try to talk Dexter out of it and Dean would enter the scene guns blazing and say "Honeeeyyy I'm home. Any psycotic killer here?? hey, Sam! What is it? Is it a vampire, what?" And I think Dexter would be over his head, primarily because it's two people who almost never seperate. And Dexter would have soooo many question. And maybe a new profession

I think the video put it perfectly...a season long hunt. And even if Gus finds out that Dexter hunts him, this happened to Dexter in literally every single season and it get's difficult and messy and Dexter comes out on top in the end. Gus would actually fit perfectly in that picture...very difficult but well in the realm of possibility.
Walter "I am the one who doesn't have his ego in check" White was able to do it, so an at least equally intelligent but not nearly as emotional Dexter surely could get it done too.

Honestly even John Wick isn't completely out of the picture. Hear me out on this...Dexter wouldn't go for the humiliation, and especially not the dog.
Instead of Theon and his goons he get's suprised by a needle instead and that's it...for Dexter, who couldn't mow down 50 people in a gunfight and who wouldn't be sent to kill the Boogeyman, it would be comparetively *very* easy to kill the man they send to kill the Boogeyman.
I think the top tier should be reserved for only people who LITERALLY can't be killed by Dexter. So arguably none in this list...Michael Myers would be a top tier for instance for supernatural reasons (also noticed that people think Leatherface has the same powers as Michael Myers, which he doesn't...he's Little Chino with a Chainsaw).
For IRL killers Bin Laden or Escobar are easy cases where "In your wildest Dreams" would apply too...and if you're comparing their level of paranoid carefullness and "having an entire security team" with that of Gus, you'll see that Gus is playing 4D Chess (but not THAT good) while they're playing 4D Hide & Seek on Grandmaster level.
As someone who never watched much Dexter, I don't really thing Gus is the kind of guy he would go after - or most of the people on this list, anyway.

@ComradeSid Its not a fact, it is an interesting theory and explaination but he is very real in the movie because of the multiple police reports about a weird dude with a cattle gun. Making him a personification of the violence out there is both a cowardly view by Sheriff Bell and its also him trying to avoid that men out there like him do exists and its easier to think that one bad guy is here.
Besides, there are multiple shots, imagery and subtle camera angle and positions that suggest that he is real and in theme with what the story tries to convey about a man not having the stomach to deal with the violence of his time and being nostalgic of simpler and better times.

If dexter tries to understand him then only Hannibal would get the chance but if dexter already knows about him and his crimes which he usually would do before proceeding with trying to catch him, its most likely Hannibal would get ambushed and then die. I like both characters though it's a 60/40 in Dexter's favor I'd say.

I think it depends on which Dexter we’re getting. First season Dexter pre identity crisis I think takes most of these guys out with a fair bit of ease. This was peak control freak, methodical, emotionless Dexter. I mean the element of surprise matched with tranquilizers. Unless for some reason Dexter is on someone’s radar and they’re expecting him to come for you he practically always has the major advantage over his victims.

I don't even think Gus is that much of a killer, he killed one guy in Breaking Bad himself, but did orchestrate the deaths of others with his resources.

Honestly the only one i personally disagree with is leatherface. Leatherface in later films is more agressive and violent but in the original he was more so a victim of mental illness and bullying by his family. Id personally move him in the tier below with art but thats just me.

I don’t think he’d be able to get Gus just because of people Gus has around him and because of how careful Gus is. I’d say Gus is probably the most difficult in his tier and the only way Dexter is hearing about Gus is if his department had a joint investigation with the DEA or something.
Even then its unlikely tbh. The only reason Gus' operation started getting uncovered is because Walt, who was working for him, ego tripped and started leaving breadcrumbs for Hank.

Three times where Walter’s interference aided Hank in catching Gus. Meanwhile no one in the DEA would’ve even considered Gus to be the kingpin, or even involved.

In my head the Tiers should be changed to timeframe in a Dexter season and the characters in them would be:
No Ritual:
Sam & Dean. These two probably do get put on the table but probably get saved by some kind of relic or celestial as mentioned. They will banish Dexter's Dark Passenger. Dex goes back to his life and has a stable family.
John Wick... He absolutely spots the ambush even in the dark and hits Dex with his own tranq, when Dex tries again this time they talk. Either both agree the other are only monsters of necessity and go their separate ways or Wick kills Dex when he knows he is compulsive and wont stop bothering him.
Gus Fring... Gus is basically the most careful person with the widest array of assets, who keeps his hands the cleanest and handles problems the best way a criminal businessman is his position can. Dexter would want to get face to face to vibe check him, Gus would do the same when they meet and will immediately clock him as an over interested stranger and potential threat and investigate further. Dex has to travel, is in Gus' neighbourhood. Favours are probably called in to force Dexter to return to Miami metro. He never gets this guy on his table without going through 20 others ASAP, which isnt really Dexter's forte... If John Wick helped him, maybe, but now we are mixing media again.
Hannibal Lecter - By far the darkest timeline. Gets inside Dexter's head, convinces him he is helping him manage his dark passenger, slowly pushes him to make a more colourful ritual and uses the new police connection to commit more crime and cover it up.
Season-long Antagonist:
Ozwald Cobblepot, kind of like Gus but impulsive and less careful. Also, are we talking comic book remote control penguin servants or regular human henchmen? Who knows how weird that gets...
Joe Goldberg, I see him being handled the same way as The Ice Truck Killer, a we got to Brian Moser being a socialite manipulating people and covering it up. But Dex has already dealt with that so maybe less time invested.
Several episode hunt:
Barry Berkman, in a straight fight he would end Dex... But Barry has historically tended towards pacifism. He is also clumsy and its only by pure luck that the investigation didnt find him instantly. Dex would know from the start, would spend an episode manipulating evidence because he gives everyone too much credit. Dex would join an acting class or two, meet Sally and compare her to Rita in his head. Barry would 100% fall for the dark room, light switch, tranq tactic... Might even fall for the smiling handshake and tranq if it was after a conversation about Dex being an eccentric aspiring actor. Dex would end up relating to him and killing him in an episode or two after saying his frequent "both of us can't escape what we are, this is all we know how to do, the only thing that ever made us feel good..." and leaving some kind of apology/goodbye gift for Sally from 'Barry'... "The breakup was inevitable. He knew it, I know it and now she does too."
"LEATHERFACE" - this is a whole thing not just Leatherface... You start there but you end up dealing with the WHOLE of the Sawyer family. Thats a trio of episodes at least, even if the family members arent particularly troublesome as individuals. They are close nit and dangerous, peeling them off one at a time is the most ideal strategy.
One and done episode:
Everyone else. Nobody else here is more than a footnote to Dexter, he would be working through other personal problems for half of these kills, thats the only reason it would take more than a night. Hell, some of these could easily be in one of those montages of Dexter's multiple string of successes at the start of a new season and we wouldn't bat an eye.

Besides, I think the only way they get an understanding of the Dark Passenger is by getting up close and personal with it. So they use themselves as bait and then escape right before the ritual is completed.
The fact that no one is talkking about the Art rating is crazy. Art was always a demon. Especially factoring in the 2nd and 3rd movies, he is not dying no matter what dex does. He literally cant die.

Having watched all these shows I honestly think the only killer Dexter couldn't handle easily is Hannibal. All the others were caught by surprise, including J Wick, and some of them multiple times. That's really all Dexter needs. Further I don't think he'd go after the Winchesters simply bc he'd see they didn't have a "Dark Passenger".

Hannibal and Dexter is a fight I thought about for years. Ultimately it would boil down to Hannibal, in his sadistic ways, trying to force Dexter to break his code while Dexter will try everything into his power to prove to himself that he fits his code. Total mind chess game, probably ending with everyone Dexter cares about dying and Hannibal possibly feeding them to him without him knowing.

I feel like Dexter could easily get Sam and Dean on his table, but they would prove to Dexter very quickly that they are real monster hunters.
This means they follow a set of morals close to Dexter's own, enough so that Dexter might let them go.
That is the best case scenario for Dexter. There is no other scenario where Dexter survives.
Few issues here:
- With leatherface, he would easily take him down, because in that shithole he doesn't even need to be careful, he would inject him with a lethal dose of poison and he'll go down in half a minute.
- With Gus Fring, he would just wait to get him alone in one of the restaurants and he's done.
- The penguin, if you take his comic book character, would be almost impossible for Dexter to catch, and even if he caught him, the penguin has superhuman durability (able to tank several of Batman's blows, and Batman is a unit!), and he has poison resistance so he might not even go down after trying to sedate him.

I think Art the clown was already in the beginning stages of having demonic powers in the first terrifier. In his first appearance he’s a regular guy in costume while in later appearances gets more inhuman features which could indicate demonic changes (if All Hallows’ eve is canon).
It’s like Sienna’s arc with a test, death, resurrection and unnatural powers but demonic instead of divine.
Also if he gets killed by Dexter as a human I’m fairly certain that he would resurrect with powers like in the movie.
one thing that should be noted about Leatherface: he did not operate alone. He's part of a family of cannibalistic killers. Dexter would have to deal with them all. I don't think that would change the tier ranking you gave him, but that alone would solidly put him in that rank.

A dexter/supernatural crossover would be insane. I can just imagine that at least half of the people Dexter killed were monsters who he caught off guard and just never realized that they were monsters. If you took Sam and Dean before season 4 and put them up against Dexter, i think it would play out in Dexter's favor at first, because lets face it, Sam was outsmarted by regular humans in the benders episode, so Dexter could take them.
Dexter would probably have been tracking their movement for awhile, assuming that they were just a serial killer duo that had evaded capture for years. Then he figures out a bit of their pattern, i.e. what draws them to a new city, and figures out that they are coming to Miami for a job. Maybe as they work the case, he interacts with them as a forensics expert and he realizes who they are by finding out that whatever cover they are using is fake. The winchesters are usually great at noticing when people are following them so Dexter would have to be especially sneaky but since they mostly stay in rundown motels it would be lightwork for him to ambush them. He gets them on the table and they accuse him of whatever weird murder they were investigating and start asking what he is and everything, only for him to say something like "im a serial killer" and the boys to be completely baffled when he's showing them pictures of their victims which are all monsters they've killed, and then they try to explain themselves but at first he thinks they are insane until they manage to escape (because the boys always find a way out) and ultimately show him proof that the people they killed were supernatural.
Dexter's whole world is turned upsidedown as he realizes that there are even better victims that he could have been going after all this time, and the boys sympathize with him because in many ways he does the same thing they do, only he takes out the human monsters while they take out the real monsters. They end up parting ways after teaching Dexter a few things about what to look for when tracking supernatural creatures, and Dexter starts cleaning up Miami one monster at a time.

4:43 idk about that. Leather face was kinda stealthy and sneaky is the films. During one scene there was a jumpscare where he came out of the dark with a chainsaw and you could not hear the buzzing of his chainsaw for some reason
I agree with everything except John Wick. he is very good but he can die, Dean and Sam can as well but they don't stay dead. I think it was said that Dean alone died over 114 times.

John wick is far closer to the in his dreams tier than he is the difficult but possible tier. Sure, its possible that Dexter is able to somehow kill him by a freakish stroke of luck, but 999/1000 times, jon takes it. Jon has become accustomed to looking over his shoulder every day, the chances of dexter getting the jump on him is very very very slim. And if John is given even a second to react, itll be over

And according to the new lore from the game, his cousin "Hands" killed a man and made a mask from his face, then gave it to a child Bubba, which kinda led him down the road to what he became.
I'm a john wick fan. But I'm not sure even he can take on Winchester brothers, they are highly skilled and have Godly Plot Armour.
The boys are very inconsistent, they go from fighting beings dozens of times stronger than humans, to fighting middle aged dads and prison inmates. Wick should easily clear them post-Chuck, since Jack doesn't interfere.
It would be interesting to see Dexter vs Annie Wilkes (book version).
For someone who is batshit crazy, Annie is deceptively intelligent and has been kiiling people all throughout her life and for reasons that make sense only to her.
Despite being on the heavier side, she is capable of catching people off guard, is dangerously strong due to farmwork, and shes armed with an array of weapons and tranquilisers.
And also, she is obsessively organised to the point that she has every detail of her house committed to memory.
Would be very interesting to see The Bay Harbor Butcher vs The Dragon Lady.
The crazy part is Sam and Dean are so strong they beat Art the clown even in demon form. They exist in a realm of their own

I think Dexter and Hannibal would become a unique relationship of Hannibal admiring and wanting to study Dex, and Dexter in return would be able to fully understand his dark passenger as it is a complete mirror of Hannibal

Penguin gets captured and held at gunpoint legit almost every single episode. He only survives due to the plot armor that makes every other character turn stupid when he’s in the room. Dexter could kill him easily.
if we're talking about all of these people at their very strongest then Sam & Dean should have their own tier that's like three tiers above "In Dexter's Dreams" Peak Sam killed Lilith, the strongest demon (if you forget the retcon) with his mind, and Mark of Cain Demon Dean would literally turn Dexter inside out. They don't exist on the same power bracket.

I feel like you’re not taking into account that none of them would know they’re being hunted, basically everyone is cooked except art, sam/dean and maybe gus and penguin because they have bodyguards. If you’re allowing sam and dean to have god on their side and they have the ability to get revived, then it’s only fair that art has his supernatural abilities.

So with the leather face one, there was an episode where Dexter had to kill this giant body builder like guy and the tranq he used wasn’t enough. So he had to hit the guy again. And then on his table he broke out of his restraints but Dexter still took him down. If it was after this learning experience I think Dexter could take down leather face but it’d take more than a knife in the chest to kill him apparently after some of the things he’s been hit with in the movies.

Barry should be as low as Patrick Bateman. He gets caught off guard by literally everybody, and none of them are as competent as Dexter. He’s also terrible at hand to hand combat, which Dexter excells at, and has a repetitive schedule that Dexter would learn in a day’s time. He’s a one episode kill.

I kind of have them on par, 47 can pull off some masterful hits but I don't remember him ever being quite the force of nature Wick is when he goes on a rampage. It's been a while since I've played a Hitman game so I might be forgetting missions/moments though.

Patrick is literally the kind of murderer Dexter targets. Though he doesnt have previous convictions or a trial thus it would probably require Willem Dafoe's investigation to get Dexter's attention which could spark a Doakes situation where Willem keeps getting in the way.
