@@charbumso you’re ok paying close to 50k (after taxes and fees) for a truck without a dampened tailgate, no power seats, a back window that doesn’t open and a lower end tech package? If so, you are definitely part of the problem in todays truck market!

I will admit, i had a 2024 trd off road drive past me yesterday and it looked pretty damn good. But....my 2022 xp pred makes me happy. First vehicle i have owned that i honestly want to keep for as long as possible.
Fact: a turbocharged 4 cylinder will need more maintenance than a v6 In the long run.. even taco owners know that ..the frontier is a much better truck with better power, suspension, actual steel bed and more features at a lower price
The Frontier has the steering radius of a battle ship, and the suspension articulation is not even close to Tacoma. Otherwise, I like the new Frontier. A great mid size truck if you aren't going to be taking it out on more serious off-road trails. For me, I generally keep don't use my Tacoma for rock crawling, so the Nissan would probably work fine for me.
I have a 2007 Tacoma I bought brand new. If Toyota keeps the Tacoma as it is now, I will be buying a Nissan Frontier when it's time to buy a new truck.
Even if you can get a better price, the MSRP is still too high. For those of us that live in states that we pay property taxes on vehicles, they base the tax on the MSRP and not the sales price. And you have to pay it every year not just the year you bought it in like sales tax. Don't even get me started on insurance. No wonder there are so many trucks sitting on the lots. Its just simple economics 😂
I priced an SR5 extended cab 6ft bed 4wd model and it came to $44k with the SR5 convenience package. Way too much since these trucks are rarely discounted below $40k.
Toyota lost it’s Kaizen. Bump-stops optional. Love our 21 runner and miss the 10 taco but anyone thinking this is improvement does not truly understand vehicles.
Ben, the issue is, no V6, no rear leg room, made in Mexico….and crazy price point. Toyota has absolutely made some common sense mistakes. I’m a huge Toyota fan sitting here shaking my head. Rolling my eyes. Only good thing I can say is. From a distance the truck looks awesome.
Let me dumb it down for Toyota and their sales associates. For true Taco owners,….. we don’t want a 2.4l turbo(more moving parts, more problems, more spending money) and we sure as hell don’t want hybrid B.S. on the truck(more moving parts, more problems, more money). We want a reliable, predictable NA v6….. heck I’d do a online 4 cylinder NA with a manual transmission. But basically we want a rough and tough truck. Can a turbo do 300k and still be running like a top? I haven’t heard of one yet. If the Tacoma can prove me wrong, I’ll go trade my v6 taco for one. And $60k for a mid size pickup? You’re out of your freaking mind. I prefer Toyota myself, but right now, Nissan has the truck with the more appealing options. I’ll get off my soapbox now.
Got a loaded up 23 Trail boss for over 2 grand less than this. Way more features, better power, better looks. I just cant get past how little you get for how much you now have to pay to get in a Taco
160.00 for black out emblems. Lmfao. Cost them the same as stock. Give me a break. 60.00 for DollarTree mudflaps. So cheesy. Id like to see that 4banger with 1200lbs after 1 year. Can't imagine why the lots are full

For the same price you can get a loaded out nissan pro 4x with a way better naturally aspirated v6.

I love " affordable" at almost 50K with taxes and fees, lol.
Toyota is taking a ride and profiting on their past reputations, which has made them delusional and will sink soon.
They already have taken a hit with failing transmissions
