Love your videos! I am loving this new 4WS, but would like to put some weight on the axles. Do you know if the brass steering knuckles and portal covers for the Capra UTB/SCX10 III will fit the axles of this 4WS?

Um, the redcat rs10 had 4ws with full radio mixing(4 steering models) and came out 10 years ago for $160. So how does the axial just have click buttons to control the rear???
On my OG Capra I added rear steering. If you can put rear steering on channel 5/6 and use a dial it makes it much easier 👍🏼
Yup, I’ll be doing a video on using the DX5 Pro and mixing.
I was thinking just that. I do something very similar in my 1/16 tanks. Channel 5/6 for volume using a pot.
Horizon has a video bindind and setting up DX5 PRO to nob and a link to free thumb steering nob to replace stock nob. So you will be able to thumb steer with one hand and regular steer with other hand. I'm glad I waited for a radio until now because this is what I have aways want to do steer each axle separately, this is awesome. Now if only they would do a 1/6 scale of this 4WS Capra.
Axial needs to make a 1/24 scale Capra will change the game for sure

Very nice! I like it a lot, I don't have any 4 wheel steer RCs yet. This might be my first, unless I do a LMT conversion.
Good call on the wiring. Should be cleaner. I'll hold off due to the staged rear steering. 50% and 100% is just not good enough for this kind of money. Will buy if they do fully proportional rear steering in the future. After all, Danchee Ridgerock does it for $120 RTR.

That looks fun but it is a shame they didn't include a radio with channel mixing to take out the clunky looking button pushing. Guess it came down to cost. Great detailed review as always!!
Especially considering the redcat rs10, from 10 years ago, had 4ws with full radio mixing...just click 1 button to cycle through 4 steering modes and the wheel controls all 4 tires...and it was a $160 crawler. Axial probably couldn't do better without leaving the spektrum brand.
Bummer to see they didn’t address the horrible transmission gearing.
How much run time are you getting out of those batteries? I'm thinking about getting a Capra and looking for the best setup
I found out the s614 servo, while they are “metal” geared, they are actually brass and not steel. Stripped this servo on my axial bomber.

Hey Greg, I'm looking into buying a 1/10 crawler but I'm not sure what to get. I was thinking about a TRX4 sport or an Axial Capra, but both would be the kit version as I like building. Which would you recommend?
Can’t go wrong with either. Depends on where you plan to drive or if you’re looking for something with a more scale truck look. Both are well supported.
I don’t know if yours does this but my rear axle doesn’t drive straight does anyone know how I can fix that ?

I completely agree with the challenging yourself with stock tires-idea. The same for me. It's actually fun to drive with not-so-good tires as well, for the challenge. It's a bit boring if everybody drives Hyrax, which often seems to be the case.

How is the drag brake on yours? In mine (same rig) drag brake is almost nonexistent. I liked driving the 4WS until I killed the front servo (starting twitching). My only gripes with the rig are the drag brake & wiring..RC surgery is on the board🤷♂️..cant wait to get it back on the rocks 🪨

Great review! We love our Capra 4WS! It's held up really well to all types of driving (and abuse...) and the electronics haven't let us down at all either. Can't quite say the same for our Ryft, but with a little work i'm sure we can make it better. We went to a much taller tire on the Capra and it made it twice as capable, it feels like cheating when crawling now.

When I saw this, I was like, I MUST HAVE THIS. Then I saw how you control the rear wheels and it was a dealbreaker. I hate it. I want a separate knob to control the rear wheels just like the fronts. We need to figure out how to do something like that...

Hi my name is Tony I'm subscribed to your channel and I Is learn a lot with your videos. I have a question , I saw you made a video on the 4ws capra, Did the one you use have a windy sound to it. I bought one and it made that sound and it burned the motor and ESC. We put a hobby wing 1080 ESC on it,and a new motor and I just took it out to test it and tho motor got so hot I had to turn it off for a little while. Do to your experience I Was wondering if you have any opinion about this Thanks

Do you think Axial will produce a kit version of this Capra? I was planning on buying the Capra kit soon, and was going to add the rear steer, but when this showed up in my subs list, was like OMG, Axial did it!
I’m not certain if they would make a kit. But if I remember correctly, the kit and RTR had the same parts, so there is no “option part” loss if you did go with an RTR. Just yank and sell the new RTR electronics if you’d rather drop your own gear in. But yeah, 4WS sooo awesome!

It is. Yes, it is pretty quiet. The only time you hear geartrain noise is while decelerating from quicker speeds.
Do you have any reccomendations for a good rtr rally car?
What with all the holes in the centers of all the steel linkage rods?
Those wider nittos fit the width of the Capra nicely with the narrow cage and they should have stocked the other narrower nittos off the 1.9 wraith to the wranglers for a better scale look

Earlier this year a bought a Capra. You think they will take it in on trade ??
@Crazy G RC if you have a local hobby shop you deal with they might take it in trade and have you pay the difference. I actually bought my capra used earlier this year from Rc Excitement in Fitchburg Mass that was a used rc they took in on trade. I got a great deal on it. Thing with the hobby shops is they usually want to try to put it up for sale for a price it will sell quickly and make some money off of it. Your best bet to get the most money for the capra might be to sell it private sale. Other option might be to just try to get another front axle and make it 4 wheel steer yourself.

Is it just me or is it lower and with softer springs than the original RTR?
Unfortunately I don’t have the original RTR to check that.
@@rcdriver I'm just curious because one of the big complaints I've seen about the original is that it was too high and the springs were too stiff.

Did you stick with the spektrum battery in the link? Does that battery make enough to run this unit! I seen lot of people running the gens ace 3600mah 60c pack, what’s your advice on the right battery for this Capra 4WS? Thanks for the help
Great review. Super capable rig right there. Love the 4WS feature. Much better mixing options for 4WS if you configure it to a better Tx like a DX5C, Pro or Rugged. Looks like it has a fairly good drag break too right out of the box.
Stock TRX4 would still dominate this thing. 4WD steer is just another gimmick like DIG.
