I hope onkyos newer receivers are built as well as their older receivers. I got one of their older 5.1 systems from like 2010 and still today doesn't skip a heartbeat for tv and music through arc and blu-ray movies through my good ole ps3. And this is an entry level product let alone a high end av receiver. Had good experiences with Onkyo so far 👍
Decent home theater machine. I got this for Atmos and High res music playback, BUT... I’m challenged taking advantage of the DAC on this machine. Is a thumbdrive using the clunky interface the only way to do high res? Have a Mac, but no usb inputs it can use! Pretty frustrating. Any suggestions?
The 730 has Direct mode in which audio from the input source is output without surround-sound processing. That doesn't disable the video circuitry like the Pure Audio mode does which is first found in the 830 model. This is done for the best, truest sound possible with the least amount of distortion from unnecessary circuitry when listening to audio.
Ok guys and gals over there at Crutchfield I have a question. I decided to bi-amp my Onkyo receiver and my question is in bi-amp mode do I still have control of my bass output. ? I really could use an experts help on this matter. Thanks in advance and Happy Easter ladies and gentlemen. 😇🙏🏾👍🏾❤️💯
The subwoofer controls should still work and we anticipate that the speaker size settings long with any setting that may direct some of the main channel bass to the subwoofer output will continue to work. If you are having issues getting them set or adjusted and you purchased your Onkyo from us, we recommend contacting our technical support for help. We send their toll free phone number on the order invoice.
You'll find troubleshooting for power issues starting on page 161 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20180923144600/Manuals/580/580RZ830.PDF If you got the unit here, please call our Tech Support as well. Their number is on your invoice.
The owner's manual does not mention this mode and offer troubleshooting steps to resolve. This suggests the warning implies an internal part has failed. You might double check that with technical support and if necessary, locate an Onkyo repair facility.
Yes we have a variety of speakers that would pair well with those receivers. You can connect with one of our friendly advisors to find the speakers that will best meet your needs: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYTVc290/support/ContactUs.aspxI-rYTVc000/
Why do all these newer amps sound flat and weak compared to my old Onkyo sv610pro? I have a marantz sr8200, Onkyo tx-sr674 and old Kenwood krx-1000. Different amp tech more geared towards home theatre?
There is definitely more of an emphasis on home theater - but we still have a good selection of 2-channel options. There will also be a large degree of personal preference. If you have questions about which amp will be best for your taste and needs you can always chat with one of our friendly product advisors here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rFBKc290/support/ContactUs.aspx
That all depends on the needs or power recommendations of your speakers. Most receivers have 2 channels driven, so your power on your surrounds are typically divided up across the board, but your front channels are getting all that great power. Get in touch with one of our Advisors either by online chat, or phone. They'll be happy to go over your existing gear, and help you find the perfect receiver for your system! www.crutchfield.com/I-rYTVc000/contact
i own the 810 and i want to add 2 atmos speakers and not sure what the best way would be. i ordered a pair of Onkyo SKH-410 Home Audio Dolby Atmos-Enabled. should get another 2 or 4 channel amp?
The receiver's configuration will need to be set to run a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos system. Once that is done, the Surround-Back/Front-High channels become the ones used to power speakers. There may be a preamp output that also outputs the preamp level version of this audio. You don't need an external amp to power the Atmos speakers.
Could someone explain me what “pure audio” mode is meant for? Is it only for analog audio sources like vinyl and such? Either way I wonder if these power ratings really are RMS & all-channel driven.
This mode is meant to give the cleanest, most pure amplification of the audio by disabling all the video circuitry and the display on the front of the receiver. Doing this minimizing possible noise sources for the best high-fidelity audio reproduction from the receiver
Yes, it can. Also, its worth noting that because it turns off the analog video circuits, any video signals input through jacks other than the HDMI IN jack cannot be displayed on the TV.
Has anyone done any testing with using a home theatre receiver in pc gaming? I have an older Onkyo 656 receiver running my pc surround sound system from an HT Omega eClaro sound card via optical. But its processor is not even remotely close enough to handle the 3440x1440@ true 60hz signal coming from my Gaming computer. I like the ability to switch sources as I have 7 sources going into my monitor/receiver. Are these new receivers able to handle faster signals?
You will not have an issue controlling the volume levels. The theater receiver's calibration system will account for the differences and level them out so there is no issue when using its volume control as the main or master volume control.
What is the REAL WATTAGE PER CHANNEL for an Onkyo RZ 720 receiver? Companies always display something like 120w per channel but it's based using 2 channels at 6 ohms. What does that mean or equates to on a 7.1 channel system using 8 ohm speakers? If all speakers are running at the same time are they only getting like 15 - 20 w per speaker?
We don't have the power for each channel when you are running all 7 channels. I know it will be something less than 110w but that's all I can confirm on it. I have a feeling that the only way to truly know is to test it or find the results from someone else's test. I hope you are able to find it! --Crutchfield
No, they haven't gone out of business. Onkyo is getting hit hard by what's going on with the world right now and having some delays with manufacturing. We took some of their products off our website for now until we know they'll be shippable.
@@lexiewilkinson9703 I'll answer your question without my opinion. You can connect external amps on every channel on the Onkyo TX-RZ830 and Denon X4500H. If you want to compare features I suggest visiting ZKElectronics.com, which breaks down pretty much every feature and explains the advantages and disadvantages of each. If you care about 4K upscale then you need to buy the Denon or pretty much any other brand of recevier. I personally don't need that feature so the RZ830 fills my needs.

Are toroidal transformers better than low leakage flux power transformers? I’m looking to replace my Cambridge audio azur 551r which uses a toroidal transformer!
Toroidal transformers are popular because they can deliver high current without being too big or running too hot. yes no problem with this jus plug it via hdmi to your videocard

The 630 is only capable of 9 channel configurations. You need the 830 to get 7.1.4 processing.
