- Sorry to keep you all waiting! A lot of you have been asking for the next part of the rebuild video from the Circuit 2023.
We didn't really plan to have this part of the rebuild as a separate video but unfortunately, as technology has not been cooperating with us and we're dealing with trying to recover lost/corrupted footage from the rebuild, we thought in the meantime, we'd give you a slideshow of photos as Baby Blue goes through the benching process of getting pulled back into shape, new body panels fitted and finally, painted!
Hopefully we will be able to rectify the footage from the rebuild and have it up for you soon. Again, apologies for the delay. Thanks for sticking with us!

Pretty sure those are replica panels (they make everything, incl framerails).
@@ToreDL87 2:52 Only it had already been painted (in lime green!) and had the decal fitted. If you're buying replica panels, you don't usually buy them second hand.
Well perhaps that RS2000 looked like Baby Blue after the crash and that was one of the straight panels that was left……

How many hours went into just the shell alone to get it ready for refitting the mechanicals?
I guess now that genuine Mk2's are getting scarce and expensive it's now worth the time and money to rebuild a shell. Many years ago I was looking at rebuilding a crash damaged ex works Gp4 Mk2 escort shell but it was cheaper at the time to just start again with another shell.

Whats the rules on the roll cage after a heavy impact or two guys. I know a Grp4 shell aint exactly a standard Escort shell but at what point would they say, the cage needs to be renewed?

What paint and specific color is that?
This might be a stupid question but how many time can you straighten a shell before its game over for it?
A shell can be straightend and repaired as many times as you like provided you have the correct jig and equipment to do so. The only time a shell might get binned is if there is a major twist in it from front to back including the roll cage. Bear in mind a world rally car is built from the floor pan up!
With an Escort zero times. This is a racecar that looks vagualy like an Escort. But I feel the end is near for this one as well. Time to do another new shell.
