Thanks for telling me the length of the IEC power cord! Glad to find out it's long enough to run the cable down under my desk to a power plug! Though my cable type is a UK type G plug, i believe dell would also give me an IEC cable that is 1.8m long. I would not buy this monitor if the cable was only 30 cm long.

Could you please answer the following questions?
1. How good is the colour accuracy?
2. How bad/noticeable is the backlight bleeding?
3. How good are the blacks? Does it produce good blacks, or do they look more like a dark shade of grey?
1. Colours look good for a matte screen but professional calibration is needed for professional work. See this review for colour calibration results www.color-management-guide.com/dell-p2419h-monitor-review.html
2. There is medium to severe light bleed/IPS glow at the top left side of my screen. In dark scenes/websites, it is noticeable only if you have the brightness over 40/50%.
3. Blacks are black/very very dark purple-ish grey. Let's just say I can clearly see the black border around the screen even with a fully black background onscreen.

Would suggest use a good quality DSLR camera to get right quality of display devices like this. This camera doesn't do the justice with monitor display !!

I'm considering buying this monitor to connect to a Mac mini. Do you recommend me using Displayport or HDMI for this model? Considering that this monitor is Full Hd, there will be a difference between one and another cable?
Look, I had previously purchased an HP EliteDisplay monitor and couldn't get the image to look as bright and sharp as I was looking for. I connected it through the native HDMI cable. The resolution requirement tends to be higher in Mac Os environments and some areas, corners, icons looked distorted and pixelated. Now I'm not sure if my problem was with that particular monitor (which was not compatible), or the cable I used, or the resolution Mac requires... I'm lost. I should have bought a Macbook Pro :) Well I'm not a designer and don't care if the monitor is 23.8 or 21.5 inches, I just want the image to look good and correct :)

Wow. Thanks for the positive comment Maky. As far as response time, this monitor disappoints. The official Dell manual states Response time 8 ms (Normal), 5 ms (Fast). I just tested the fast response time settings and now I have white ghosting on text as I scroll down rendering that setting USELESS. Smoothness in fast moving video scenes did'nt even improve that much over the normal 8ms setting. All this because the monitor is geared to office work.

It is as I have been told then, the legit response time is indeed 8ms and nothing lower without issues cropping up.
Would you still recommend this for gaming? i.e. not fast paced shooters but for someone who plays RPGs or MMOs etc.?
@@Maky313 To be honest, I dont even know what RPGs or MMOs stand for lol. I'm just not able to give a recommendation when it comes to gaming as I am clueless on this. Yor best bet it to look for videos about previous generations of this monitor changing the 19 (year) to 18, 17, 16 till you find someone showing it's gaming performance. Maybe even search on reddit.

Good review! How does it handle a dynamic picture and games?
This "office work" monitor doesn't perform too well with fast moving images. As for games, I have not idea as I don't play. But based on it's video performance, it won't be your best option.
In case anyone is curious, I was able to overclock the refresh rate to 75hz with an AMD graphics card (5600xt). You can probably do this on any decent graphics card.

I am going to lose my mind. No matter what I do or try it says my monitor has no signal to the HDMI. Tried unplugging everything, waiting, plugging back in. Tried doing the same process with the DP cord. NOTHING. Tried changing all the inputs on the menu. Nothing.

Just a Q - How do you set it as a dual monitor with your laptop?
You connect it to your laptop using display or hdmi cable, then you press down the windows key and then press the letter P key (Win+P). A window will popup with a list or options. There you can choose to extend your display to make dual screen with your laptop. You can also choose second screen only if you want to have your laptop closed and use just the monitor.

I’m using a display port in the monitor. Then I hook it into an HDMI to USBC connector. Lastly I connect the USBC into the laptop. They won’t detect each other. Please help me.
Have you tried to project to the second screen? Win+P Or right click the desktop and screen resolution. Then extend screen. If you have,without success, then you may need a better USBC to HDMI cable.

Hello, yes, it is still my only monitor. I switch it on in the morning and it performs with no drama till I turn it off at night. Emphasis on NO DRAMA. Once I turn it on, I can forget about the monitor as all I focus on is the screen on which I work. I will make a 1 year follow up video about it.

Hi Kevin. Yes, there is some backlight bleeding/ips glow around some corners. The typical you will see in other similar model reviews. I may show this in an upcoming test. This however is a small price to pay for the overall package, colours, viewing angles etc. At night I have the brightness all the way down anyway. You'll have to actively look for it, so I just dont find myself in a situation where I shout and scream "OMG look at that backlight bleeding ruining my movie...."
Hello, I decided to buy the monitor dell p2419h I was very motivated to buy this screen to start developing my projects. But suddenly I was shocked by the blacklight on my first screen and then on my second monitor.
So in this case I don't have a good contrast for editing my pictures.
You mean, this display doesnt match your other monitor?

@@Blakyow unfortunately, that is the problem with IPS displays, the bleeding is unpredictable even with the same models. I am sure you can return them if not satisfied.

Hey Roby I have one question about the monitor. I have a Logitech pc speakersystem that connects via a 3.5 mm headphonejack. When you showed the ports of this monitor you said that there was no 3.5 mm headphonejack. If I buy this monitor will I be able to use my own speakers? I have the logitech Z333 speakers
Hey E.L050, unfortunately, you wont be able to connect your speakers directly to the monitor. But you should be able to connect directly to the laptop or tower 3.5mm jack if present. You could have an extender audio cable come from your computer up to your desk terminating in a 3.5mm jack for other accessories, just not from the monitor.

But Ultrasharp is more expensive
It is not the same, the Ultrasharp is best monitor there is. I have both and trust me, Ultrasharp is by far better.

I currently have a 21.5-inch monitor with 1080 resolution and I am thinking of buying this monitor but I am concerned that having the same resolution on a larger screen might result in a less sharp picture comparing with my current display. For me the text is sharp. You have to try one in the shop. From 21 to 24 is not to far, especially for the same 1080p resolution.

The version in this video is not the USB c one though. Also, compared to those small portable usb c displays, this is a big desktop monitor that needs to be powered by it's own power cable. Even for the USB version, it still needs to be plugged in to power and I believe it powers/charges your laptop and not the other way round.

Thanks. It really depends what you need it for. Unfortunately, I have no games I play to test this with. But for the day to day office work, video editing, browsing, youtube etc, the monitor has been performing very well for me. I have it on comfort blue light filter mode at all times to protect my eyes. As with most IPS displays, the black colour is not the best but I dont really feel this even with dark theme on most sites I use like youtube and reddit. For me, the monitor has been a good deal.

@@explorrerp Picture is clear and sharp, great colours, font is very sharp. I believe my monitor was made in mid 2018. It will be a nice upgrade from the 22 inch but it is not too far away from your 22 inch monitor.
