As this has been getting a lot of hits recently, I should probably clarify something I've gotten a few questions on -- one of the features this video _used_ to have (before TH-cam, in its infinite wisdom, disabled the functionality) was a painstakingly-assembled series of annotations acting as snarky, toggleable commentary. Man, I just love Dino island. Imagine making a fan game and walk around Lego Island 2 style trough the best part of the LR2 Dino Island map, mixed with the best parts of Lego Islands adventure Island. And maybe add parts and scenery from Amazon adventure alley and Tribal island trail. Many lego games had the same worlds but they all were different and had their own characters, imagine all of them coming together in one world.

I always wanted to play as rocket racer when i was a kid it was something very important for a 6 year old. 10 years later i played it again and modded the hell out of it xD
ShadowOfCygnus you dont even need cheat engine to play as rocket racer go to rockraidersunited website and u can look for anykind of modding for lego racers 2 u can play as rocket racer by only changing some files i dont remember what i changed there but u can find it from rockraidersunited you can play as rocket racer even in the adventure mode with the file change ive done its really cool
This is the first time I've really seen Lego Racers 2, and as someone who has been playing Crash Team Racing (original & remake) and Crash Nitro Kart, I reckon this seems to be quite similar to CNK, especially with the CNK music tracks and the order of the worlds, Sandy Bay & Dino Island tracks using Terra's music, Arctic using Barin's music, Mars using Fenomena's music and Xalax using Teknee's music with the final race against Rocket Racer using Hyper Spaceway. Crazy how the theme of the worlds throughout both LR2 & CNK are strikingly similar! (Island, Snow, Desert, Space)

Please tell me I wasn't the only one who got so good at these games that it got too easy. I'd destroy Rocket Racer's car and finish the race in my car while he was still on foot. Nevertheless they were pretty challenging on the first run though as a youngster.
@@ShadowOfCygnus Unless, of course, you race a boss. Then it heavily depends on if and how you spend your car bonuses... Full steering makes slipping impossible and corners a joke. This was my standard playstyle because I hated slipping all the time. Full speed may be tricky to control, but is unbeatable when controlled. Speedrunner strats FTW. Full shield makes you basically invincible but bosses are a pain. I had to rely on luck against Riegel when I tried that.
30:49 When I played this game however for about gold bricks requirements for each worlds, it was a little different. For World 2, it was 4 not 5 (which just means you can go there after defeating everyone on Sandy Bay). 8 for World 3 and not 10, and 12 for World 4 and not 15. I could be wrong but that was the way it is when I played that game.

Good question! I've sat and scratched my head for _years_ trying to figure out exactly what happened there. The best I can come up with is that after a successful disc hit at 1:02:13, he spun out and fell off the mountain, somehow skipping a checkpoint (or six). You can just barely see him at 1:02:28, so he probably went off the track somewhere in the volcano itself and ended up on the land bridge in the middle. From there, as you can see later in the race, the AI speeds up _dramatically_ trying to loop back around through the entire track and hit the checkpoints it missed--apparently, it wasn't coded to handle missed gates any other way.
Totally! On reflection, there are _several_ points in the game (Sandy Bay especially) where the player character is . . . a bit of an ass, frankly. This, being a jerk to Fred, being a jerk to Rocket after winning the championship -- the list goes on.
Well, perhaps I finally has found the problem of LR2.. It is too slow. I was speeding up your video 50% and both the cars and music BPM matched the original better.

Full steering makes slipping impossible and corners a joke. This was my standard playstyle because I hated slipping all the time.
Full speed may be tricky to control, but is unbeatable when controlled. Speedrunner strats FTW.

An amazing sequel of the Lego Racers series. I started with the GBA version but I prefer the PC version as it has lots more options and features
