    My goal is to be an ultra runner one day too and run Leadville 100, I’m running my first half marathon in 2 months 😊

      Cool!! That's a good goal to start with. You have to start somewhere and then you'll be an ultra runner faster than you think👏👏 keep going! And tell me how that how marathon went when you ran!

    Anna this is great and i like the funky music! I'd add "meditative" too. Running ultras is magic between the ears! ✌

    I watch these and it makes me cry. I can't even run 2 miles 😫. I can lift pretty heavy but running is my most challenging battle yet to be won

    🤗 A hug from a fellow ultra runner.
    You’re not alone. Somewhere out there, there are others like us. Running wild and free, for as long and far as they like. 🐺 🌲 ⛰️

    There's really nothing better than going out for a brisk 100k. Totally agree with the eating part. No one understands why I do it...

    I don’t run ultras but I do what I call speed hiking. I run and walk about 50/50 so I can do longer trails in less time.

    I choose the Maffatone method for my nutrition. The one thing I think it‘s okay for is a coke but no candy for fuel.
    Avocados, nuts, peanut butter and so on 🙏 But do as you like folks 👍

    • @anna.simone.s
      @anna.simone.s  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cool! it's always fun to hear what people do for fuel😁 i would probably have a hard time doing that myself but you know what is the best for you and it's probably so much healthier the way you are doing it

    The eating part I s so real.
    Since I started running Im always hungry and eat a lot now.
    But now I hate eating but I'm hungry🤣🤣 so I have to eat.
    Man I miss how chocolate stated good, now I just hate eating it because I eat so much.

    • @anna.simone.s

    I'm at 16 miles and for some reason I have this belief that if your not running the miles it don't count . Am I wrong?

    • @anna.simone.s
      @anna.simone.s  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand what you mean 100%. Sometimes i get that feeling too but in ultra running it's different. Everyone is walking more or less in ultra running, even the elite, so it's what the sport is😅

      Coming from road mentality I used to feel the same way, then during my first trail race I passed all these people who were walking up a hill. Soon as I got to the top I grabbed my knees to catch my breath as the all passed me by and ran down the next hill. Lol. Huge learning experience. Love the walk, love the powerhike, take time for selfies and the sights! What a wonderful sport!

    Fat is primary source of fuel, when you run aerobically. So why eat sugar? IMO it would make sense if you ran at a higher intensity in an anaerobic zone though

    • @anna.simone.s
      @anna.simone.s  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      carbohydrates are the primary source. when the body doesn't have enough carbs, it starts using fats but it takes more energy to burn fats and therefore i use sugar. i want to give my body an easy time with most of the energy, but it will have to use fats too (because it's hard to eat as much sugar as it needs for running). when it uses fats, it will use the fat stored in my body and not the fat that i eat. but if you work better eating fats, go for it! this is just my theory that i use because of the research i have read😁
