I NEVER cleaned or checked the small filter on the side. I never even opened the flap and I've been using my Dreamstation for over 5 years. After reading about the recall, I finally opened the flap/door and saw a small rectangular black 'filter'. Only problem was that it wasn't a filter, it was actually a solid hunk of compressed dust, LOL. I cleaned it all out and my machine feels and smells brand new with more pressure. No more suffocating on dirty air. Now I gotta check out that recalled foam area.

Just cleaned out mine for the first time after 2 years. Lol jk. 8 days. My hose and nose piece and filter all looked pretty darn clean still. I love my machine! No more snoring or suffocating and I'm sleeping 8- 9 1/2 hours asleep every night. 😴🙌🏻

    Hi,
how often do we change the filters?

    • @KyleKatarn145

The disposable ones last roughly a month, whereas the resuable ones can be cleaned weekly.

Hi and thanks for the question. The manufacturer recommendation is to replace the disposable every 2 weeks and the pollen filter every 6 months as long as you clean and rinse it about once a week.

@@LiveWellCPAP I live close to a busy road and my house sees a lot of dust. I change filters every week. Figure the cost of filters and then how much are your lungs worth - PRICELESS!

is the soclean2 safe to use on the dreamstation and resmed airsense? also, for washing the tubing, is blue dawn dish soap good to clean or baby shampoo?

If you are using any ozone cleaning machine on a Dreamstation 1, the black foam noise abatement will disintegrate and wind up in little black chunks in your tube, mask and maybe your lungs. You think i'm making this up. Read the Philips recall notice all over the internet. If the foam does not disintegrate it can still put off dangerous chemicals and VOC's. These are not my words, but Philips in their recall notice. You have 2 choices. Remove the foam (TH-cam videos) or stop using the machine. Philips has screwed us and should pay and pay and pay some more.

The soclean 2 is an ozone cleaning device and at this point there has been some talk that ozone might have been part of the reason the foam pieces were breaking up. There is no clear answer yet though and I think it might be a while before we know anything definitive.
For washing a blue dawn dish soap or a scent free baby shampoo would work great for the tubing.
      Thanks for asking!

    • @LiveWellCPAP
      @LiveWellCPAP  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Great question! I like to use cotton swabs to get dust out. You can also pull a baby wipe or a CPAP wipe through the area out one side through the other.

Pour white vinegar into your hose over your shower or bathtub. Your hose held in each hand in a big "U". slosh the vinegar back and forth cleaning the inside of the tube. Drain the tube and then do the same with Drinking water (not tap water) and rinse out the vinegar, hang to dry. I usually hook the tube to my cpap machine and let it run for 15 minutes, no mask connected and the hose will be dry to use. Clean your hose once a week this way and you will never have bacteria in your hose. Only use Distilled water in your humidifier and you will not have white calcium deposits in your water tank.

I take my mask apart once a week and clean the parts in the sink with water and mild dishwashing soap (Anti-bacterial) Rise With drinking water and lay out to dry on paper towels and put back together. If you do what I say here and hose cleaning comment you will always have sanitary cpap machine.

Or get the foam out of it and reassemble it. It takes some tools, but its a good bet if you can't afford a new one.

If you have a Dreamstation I would suggest going to www.philipssrcupdate.expertinquiry.com/?ulang=en
You can register your machine and then possibly get a free Dreamstation 2 as a replacement.
