- FULL REFIT SAILBOAT: we are almost done with our sailboat project - a full refit sailing yacht. Never imagined it would take us so long with the sailing yacht of a refit Beneteau 57. We can't wait to start sailing, but we couldn't start without our new batteries and new navigational instruments so the final stages of our sailboat project vlog. And ohh boy this is a big project and needs 2 more vlogs n- such complicated systems and of course we are doing things that haven't been done before LoL. The refitting a beneteau 57 - refit sailing yacht. A real refitting a sailing yacht and soon a sailing family vlog with our beneteau 57. For us the best beneteau in the sailing a beneteau scene. So follow us living on a boat with a kid while working on a boat. A true business couple sailing around the world, liveaboards and very very soon a sailing vlog. The last projects of the refit at the boat yard of our perfect sense.

Just watched your video and it was great to see a landrover on a boating channel. Only worry I had was please dont tell me you left the little one in the car while you went to pick up the cables from the office. I did notice some one stood near your car and guessing they might have kept an eye on him or could you see from where you were in the office?

Ook heb ik een opmerking over de video's, ik zie dat jullie veel jumpcuts maken in de edit. Probeer dit te voorkomen door korter en bondiger te spreken! My own unsolicited opinion is that if you can afford it having a mechanical and a electronic autopilot is a must.
Firstly redundancy whilst it is not crucial if your autopilot goes out you do not have to hand steer 24/7 as you can balance the boat and a couple of bungees will get you in the general direction of where you are going. Obviously not an ideal or long term solution but it can get you to port or close enough. It would generally be good not to have to do this though.
Secondly power having a mechanical system means you do not have the constant drain on the batteries that an autopilot takes up. Most boats these days have quiet a drain Refrigerator, Fridge, running lights, Instruments, AIS, Radar. Anything to reduce that constant load is good. Obviously better in the case of long passages than short Island hops.
Hi Glenn, thank you for your opinion. Totally agree with you regarding a mechanical and electrical autopilot. It’s not easy to install a mechanical one on our transom. We have swimming platform and it is possible. We start with. a redundant electric system and are going to upgrade our power supply with solar and have a dedicated oversized 12v bank just for our instruments.
do you maybe have one extra i70 for sale in that box? :D
hahaha, we used one out of three for the second autopilot and the two others did not work anymore, we had an indirect lightning strike. Unfortunately, if we had we would have send it to you for free. All the best.

Why was she equiped with 110-120 volts ? Because most of carabbean is 110-120 volts (except FR-NL islands).
That’s a very good question Robert, we found an old pc with cables and a Raymarine card you use for a laptop in the corner of the saloon. Maybe it’s because it was the only way to set up this kind of system. As far as we know the Perfect Sense never left the Med. We removed everything since we will be energy independent soon.

110 volts is US. UK is a hearty and useful 240 volts. Also never get anything posted to Turkey if you can avoid it. It's unreliable and slow AF. Get DHL or FEDEX. The extra cash is worth it. Best of luck.
Thanks Dave, I had a mind twist because the previous owners were from the UK and made an assumption. And as you probably know, assumptions are dangerous. And don’t get us starting about the post, luckily everything is here now, finally. Definitely a great tip to only use DHL and FedEx, would have saved us a lot time 😂

The lithium batteries installation and configuration are in everybody’s mind. Thr same goes for the electronics. Meaning VERY intetesting for ALL of us. But you do not show or explain anything about it. You hardly show the batteries or the instruments. Please know that it is very interesting to all of us, your fans, to also know, see your uppgrade, not just hearing you talking about it but never seeiny and learning anything in depth.

Hi Philippe, thank you for your feedback and amazing that you already watched our newest vlog. Of course we aren't mad, how could we ever be mad at you? And we totally get you with the insights and more in-depth knowledge. WE definitely missed this for our project. We actually thought it was the best to make a full dedicated video for the batteries after we finished the project and had the first real experiences with it. This project took us weeks of preparation and even now every day we are discovering new things or rediscovering things we thought we already figured out. So we thought it was best to make one in-depth dedicated video after the project is finished and we have tested it for a few days, to be sure we get right insights and information. Hi, how do the boat repair expenses in Turky compare to the Netherlands?
Hi Eddy, we never did a refit in the Netherlands 😂 when you compare the prices it’s mostly the cost of the labour which makes the difference. Parts are in general more expensive because they are all imported.

Yes, we decided to get rid of all the stuff we don't use to make life onboard a bit cleaner, we even took the the TV out since we never used it and for us it's not nice piece to look at, even though it's a Philips our National pride, we will install something more beautiful. When was the last time you used DVD and CD?

The UK doesn't have 115V. Or 110V. That's a standard most associated with North America. The UK is nominally the same as the rest of Europe: 220V.

Hi Henk, dankjewel voor je comment. Bijzonder dat je weet wat bij ons nep is en wat niet, zonder ons te kennen. We hopen dat het goed met je gaat, wij geloven in het verspreiden van positiviteit en liefde en we zijn idd anders dan ‘normaal’ en daar zijn we trots op. We geloven niet in: doe maar normaal dan doe je al gek genoeg. Wees juist abnormaal, leef uitbundig en geniet van elke dag. Je weet nooit wanneer het leven voorbij is.
En als je ons kent weet je dat niets nep is aan ons gedrag - dat het niet past binnen wat jij normaal vindt, is naar mijn mening toch echt iets anders.
We wensen je een hele fijne dag en veel kijk plezier bij andere zeil kanalen - daar zijn er genoeg van en steek vooral je tijd en energie in waar je van geniet in plaats van wat je irriteert - daar wordt jij niet alleen gelukkiger van maar de hele wereld ook mooier van.
