I still have my stock windshield with my 17 RG. I like it but would like a different look. Btw.. your mic setup is spot on! 80mph with visor up, and your sound is crystal clear.
I installed a 14" Klock Werks Sports Flair windshield on my 2015 Road Glide. With the stock seat and suspension the windshield was perfect and sent the wind over the top of my helmet. However when I upgraded to a new Mustang seat and Legend rear shocks, combined it raised me up approximately 3 in higher. I began to experience buffeting on my helmet. Since Klock Werks does not make a windshield taller than 14 in in the sports flair series, I had to replace it with a 15" Freedom Shield. I'm 5'9" tall. I can't be the only one that experience this problem with Klock Werks after the suspension and seat upgrades.
I have a 2022 tri glide and went from the stock windshield to a 9 inch one but it layed back more and I did not like it because the wind hit me in the face I am only 5’7” tall and I had the stock seat lowered because it had a lump down the center and the upholstery shop said there was a lump I have put the stock windshield back on .Its a shame that HD did not standardize the hole patern in the fairings
I know this is an old one, but I'll share my experience. 1998 Ultra, all as delivered. I'm 5'9''. Hated the factory windshield height, it bothers the heck out of me looking through that wavy plastic. Most definitely out of the wind. Put 6" dark tint wave style (not Klockwerks) on it. It looks great and works fine below 50. After 50, if I'm wearing a legal Bell shorty helmet, the wind catches it and vibrates it, and my head around unbearably. With my skullcap the 6" just catches the top of the helmet at highway speeds ~70mph. Not unbearable, but mildly unpleasant on a longer ride. I'm going 8". I'm sure I'll still be looking over it, and it should take care of the helmet buffeting. Hope this helps someone.
I ride my 2021 SGS to be “in the wind” I’m not sure I understand this video. He needs a new helmet I think. Keep shield down or just buy a shell with no visor?? Torture to listen to.
So far I've tried 4 windshields on my 13 SG.. none are any better (Klock works, wind splitter.) I NEVER should've bought a bike with a fairing. The horrible buffeting from this bike makes it a miserable ride. I can't believe no one has figured this out by now. I prefer my '16 Harley Roadster any day over this big bike that is so awful to ride.. And I was hoping to do long road trips on this thing!
Just traded my sportster for a electra glide. I feel the same way. I could ride my sportster for hours but wanted to go cross states so Traded my sportster up to a electra glide and am having super regrets. Did u ever find. Solution?
@@spd3694 Yes, my solution was to sell the Street Glide and I bought a Triumph Scrambler 1200.. it is the most fun I've ever had on a bike! Smooth torque, quick and nimble.

A Klock Werks in your RG will look nice, maybe the Klock Werks windshield is making the sound setup a little better.

I put a 8.5 klock werks on mine and love it.
Do you use fairing pouchs with the 8.5 klock werk windshield? If so do they fit good under the flare windshield?

At least you got to try before you buy. That's why it hard for me to get a new windshield. I don't know of anyone that will let me try it first.
You're %100 right about that, I was just lucky that my friend had a spare 6.5 and let me try it.
Great presentation, I’m only 5‘6“, that’s going to play a big part in the height of the windshield, I believe I would have to go with the 6 1/2 inch.
I could say I'm about 5'6" and I end up with 8.5 and I'm pretty happy with it.
How do you like the 8.5?

I was lucky that my friend still had his 6.5 so that give me the opportunity to try it and it was a good thing because I end up going with the 8.5.

I think you should take in consideration your seat high and how tall are you in combination with with your windshield high all 3 play a big role.
