    The trout at 7 minutes in was beautifully spotted, prettiest fish I've ever seen.

    Impressive stock of fish, and a river clean enough for grayling. I expect everyone in the area will be lashing that stretch of river after watching this!

    Enjoyed the video. I appreciate waiting with the ledger and rod rests; my experience is that often you have to wait patiently for the biggest fish,as a youngster l used to use Mums sqeezey washing up bottle lids between first and second eye. Always knew if a trout had picked up as it would jerk violently once or twice before it took. It’s a killer method with worm in a deep hole

    I like how you said that the video would demonstrate your ability with the net and then missed the trout twice😅
    Mindyou, I think Callum could have offered you a go under the bridge after his first 2 instead of hogging it😁
    Only gentlemanly 😉 That's a lot of decent sized trout in just the one place. You sure they were all different
    Oh and don't diss the grayling. Love catching grayling, less smash n grab than trout but lots of fun nevertheless

      He did let me have a good go under there its my own fault! I don't have much experience fishing with bait so spent a lot of time messing around with my rig and getting snagged! It was a nice grayling I do enjoy catching them just get a bit worried about interrupting their spawning in the off season. And yeah I think they were all different judging by the markings looking after, I was sure a couple of them were the same. Very surprising that there were that many, doubt they'd take a worm twice so quickly wild trout tend to be quite intelligent!

      I agree, wild trout are lots of fun to catch. Grayling too.
      I went fishing yesterday at Elinor near Kettering, nice lake but all stockies.
      When I visit my folks I pop to the Ribble Calder etc and dome of the smaller tributaries. Much more fun
      In August I'm off to Shetland to visit.my brother. Small peaty lochs, hundreds of em. Never know what you re going to get. Great fun.
      Keep the bids coming. Cheers Callum

    Hi, do you ever keep the fish you catch?
    Been trawling the internet for days to find out what the rules are. From what I can gather, different clubs seem to own the rights to different stretches of river. Are there any resources you can recommend to find out where I go and catch some fish that I can take home? Ideally rivers rather than stocked ponds. From what I can see there are clubs that stock ponds and you can pay to take a couple of fish

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do occasionally keep a fish but it's very rare. Stick to stocked lakes mate if it's trout you're after, not ideal to eat wild ones from rivers they're too prized as a game fish these days!

      Thanks mate! Sorry I get a lot of spam on instagram from bot accounts it can be easy for messages to get lost in that. For trout I'd recommend 8-10lb maxima chameleon mono depending on how big the fish are you're targeting. For perch maybe 6-8lb, and for pike fishing maybe 40lb braid with a wire trace. Hope this helps!
