This was the series when after loosing the ponds the 11th doctor found himself again ,and his new interest was finding out who soufflé girl was, this was matt smiths finest moments and he is still missed and regenerated too soon. Its times like this I had a real tardis
He first time I saw John Hurts back to camera, only to speak a few lines with such power and meaning. I had actual chills, then turned around, and was introduced, I was stunned about how I never though about how amazing he would have been. RIP John.
That reveal of John Hirt just amazes me every time I see it. And I loved how Clara jumping into the time stream explains how echos of her were showing up everywhere.
I remember everyone was getting so confused when they introduced Jenna as Oswin/Clara the new companion, but on an episode with Amy and Rory the previous companions, then she died. But then in the next Christmas special she is back again and all the news articles were getting confused aswell, then she dies again. Finally she gets reintroduced as the companion for the third time.
If Victorian Clara was the main one we were with the stories would need no changes unless they wanted to bring her to the modern day, and if that's the case it could just have additional bits of her getting used to a different life, and bells of Saint John would need a new setup, but the general ideas need no changes, and would leave us with a more interesting companion with a more fleshed out character than the bland modern Clara we got

@@sIightIybored Actually, I believe it was because of an enforced statement from higher-ups at BBC that companions come from modern day Earth (i.e, no aliens and no humans from the past or future) - they had to rewrite how Clara would join the Doctor so that instead of her being a woman ahead of her time, she's just a plot device (which imo is a great shame since companions from out of time would work very well)
A very underrated and looked down upon season with my number one favorite duo/dynamic: 11th Doctor and Clara, Matt and Jenna's chemistry are off the roof in my opinion.

Really bossy and everything is ALWAYS about her, she treats the Doctor like her dog, and is consistently dishonest and manipulative to the people she claims to love. Her frantic behaviour over the phone also got Danny Pink killed because she could've just waited to see him face to face like she should have anyway to have the discussion she wanted to have.
THe idea that the tardis is snarky with clara because she only ever heard her yelling at the doctor when they met is better if you think that the start up tardis noise was her telling clara to shut up and watch.
Noooooooo! You missed the scene during the Snowmen episode where Strax and Jenny and Madame Vastra first arrive at the mansion place. How could you miss that?!
Capaldi went on to give some of the best episodes of new who (perhaps even including the best). The series definitely did not go down in writing quality until Jodie’s era.

I felt the same way. I kind of wanted them to change things up and the ditch the attractive 20 year old girls for a season or two. Bring in a Wilfred or a Rory, hell maybe even don't have a companion for a while.

Series 5 and 6 have very shoddy episodes throughout, 1-2 great episodes, and awful story arcs. Series 7 has a consistent high episode quality, 5+ great episodes (depending if you count specials or not), and an amazing story arc. 7B especially is by far the best part of 11's run. Your take on this is really rather horrible.

The RIngs of Akhaten was boring, strung out, and brimming with sugary sentimentalism. The weakest episode of Series 7, piss poor and out of keeping with persona, and the storytelling of the rest, by lightyears.
Some of Matt and Clara's finest moments. I will always remember when the Doctor was him. Miss those years of 10 and 11.
